Troy makes you work harder than other instructors, and he brings lots of fun energy to the class!

So this was my second time cycling and I loveeee it here! I…read morewent here for the +1 ride, where I registered and got to bring a plus one for free. The check-in process was super easy and the people that worked there made sure to get my mother and I accommodated on our bikes. Even though this wasn't my first time cycling, they still helped me out. What I really love about this place is that the instructor came to us before the class started to get to know our names and who we were. And while the class was going on, she would yell out words of encouragement directed to each individual. This really made the experience more personalized since instead of telling "come on everyone you can do this", it was "come on Sarah, you got this, keep pushing". This really motivated me more to push myself during the class. Additionally, I like how its first come first serve in terms of picking your bike here. No need to worry about reserving a specific bike when you can pick whatever bike that you want. I also like how this is in the beginning of PB so you don't have to drive all the way down Garnet just to get to the class, it's pretty much right off the 5. They also have their own parking lot which means no struggling for parking, yay!

What better way to incorporate cycling in with my usual circuit training next door at Versatile fitness. The workout goes outside which I also loved. Thanks for a phenomenal 45 minutes! Looking forward to the next class. See you double time! I recommend y'all sign up and give it a try! Classes fill up quickly so don't wait until the last minute!

He has the most joyful, sincere personality and it's obvious he truly cares about the members. Every time I see him, his energy instantly makes the day better. It's rare to find that kind of genuine positivity. This location truly feels like a second home. It's ALWAYS incredibly clean, they have every piece of equipment you could possibly need, and there are so many classes to choose from. The smoothies at the café are my favorite. I've said this before, Life Time really feels like more than just a gym to me. I also visit the Life Time Irvine location and love how big it is, the jacuzzi and beach club atmosphere there are amazing. But there's just something special about the La Jolla location. It feels welcoming, comfortable, and like a true community. Highly recommend!

There are gym/sweat towels and showers available on-site with bath towels as well. There is only one shower in the men's bathroom. I assume the same is true for the women's bathroom. There's also a serious water machine on site that spits out really cold water. Free 2 hour street parking or paid private lot parking. I am usually lucky enough to get a spot out front. The only reason I'm at 4 stars is because they canceled class once and made no attempt to contact me or other members ahead of time. There was just a paper sign on the door saying class had been canceled, without any explanation. Other than that,

I was first introduced when my son was visiting from DC and brought me to a few classes. After he left, I had a choice--go back to doing nothing or keep showing up. I decided to stick with it, and I'm really glad I did. The structure of the workouts makes it easy to stay consistent, and the energy in the room is incredible. What really stands out, though, is the support from the coaches. They make you feel comfortable, push you when you need it, and genuinely want to see you succeed. A big thank you to Gemma, Lorenzo, and Sarah for all the encouragement and support. You've made this a great experience.

They have a fantastic "try 3 free classes" deal for those who haven't tried Yoga Box before. I tried 2 of the 3 classes, both Power Vinyasa classes, as I am very much a beginner. Even the Power Vinyasa class moved pretty quickly so I ended up taking a few breaks to catch up. Can be tough if you don't know the name of certain moves but the instructors do a good job of demonstrating & watching other folks who know what they're doing is helpful. The studio is very communicative ahead of your first class and they do a good job of letting you know what to brings(yoga mat, towel, water). The studio is extremely clean & the instructors were very nice. I will say, I think this is pretty tough for someone (me) who has never done yoga before. It gets very warm in the room (97 degrees) and you will sweat a LOT. Like puddles of sweat. I recall the music in both classes I attended being really good. The prices seem pretty fair compared to other workout studios around PB (I think currently like $114/month for unlimited classes...that seems like a good deal (though I don't know how much other yoga classes cost) and there are a wide selection of time slots so seems to be good for early birds & those who want to come after work / later in the evening. Parking in the lot was nearly impossible but there is nearby residential parking...I got lucky both times but could see that being an issue depending on the time of day. So despite not yoga not being a good fit for me, I'd still highly recommend it to those wanting to try / those who know they like yoga!
