Overall, I enjoyed my class at SparkCycle! The music was great, the energy was fun, and I definitely got a solid workout in. The atmosphere is motivating, and I can see why people enjoy taking classes here. That said, I did want to share one part of my experience that put a damper on the class for me. I briefly checked my phone to send something quick to my sister (which, in hindsight, I probably should have stepped out to do), but I genuinely didn't think it would be an issue since I've never seen a posted rule or signage stating that the studio is phone-free. I was caught off guard when I was called out by name during class in a way that felt more aggressive than necessary. If phone use is discouraged, I completely respect that -- but I think it would be more helpful to clearly communicate expectations beforehand or have signage posted. Especially if this has been an ongoing concern in classes, clarity would help avoid uncomfortable situations for everyone. I've also noticed comments from others in the studio about phone use before, which makes me think this may be a recurring issue from other riders as well. I just wish the approach had been kinder or more private, as being publicly called out took me out of the moment. While I may try a different instructor in the future, I still enjoyed the workout itself, loved the music, and appreciate the overall studio experience. read more

They also assist once inside with your bike and to ensure you are good to go. The energy is upbeat and motivating. Super cute design in the entire studio. You can go at your own pace, and the classes are challenging in every possible way. The studio offers cycling shoes should you not have your own, restrooms, lockers, showers, convenient parking, hydrating stations for water. 45 minutes of music, cardio and sweat dripping fun. 5 stars all the way! I always have so much fun at this fitness studio! The instructors are great! I really like Ben and Ale. There's always a lot of great music and I feel like those two instructors have just the right mix of choreography. Enough to keep it fun and interesting but not overwhelming. They both have great attitudes and always come armed with a positive uplifting message. I had hesitated to write this review for a couple of years... Their bikes were looking kind of rough. Do you love high energy cycle classes with cardio choreography and weights, in the dark with club music? You should because it's so fun! The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming to new people. The entire studio is sparkling clean and they offer towel service, both on the bike and a frozen eucalyptus towel at the end of class. It's so lovely. The staff is incredible from checking in to the class itself to handing out ice cold eucalyptus towels at the end of class everyone is so friendly and I will always appreciate that. I bought the 4 rides pack for $75 online and made it to 3 of the rides. Since I committed to this with friends, one friend couldn't make it on the third day, and I took that as my cue to sleep in. Anyways, parking is touch and go because it is Liberty Station. You must account time for that as well as checking in, putting things in a locker, and setting up your bike! It is a little crowded in the locker area, but everyone's generally respectful. We're all there to work out, ya know! I am a newb to Spin, or at least committing to a Spin class, so I do feel like my review is for other non-spin people. My butt hurt every single time! I couldn't keep up to always be out of my chair, but sitting for so long is horrible too. It's like a lose-lose, or I guess it's motivating to keep your butt out of the chair haha They provide shoes so you can click into the pedals which is cool. I love that they provide a towel at the bike so there's no need to bring anything but water! (Or they sell water at the front if you forget). The cold eucalyptus towel after the class is amazing as well. My least favorite part is arms, it IS a nice change of pace after biking for 25-30Min. However, I have never felt so weak, they're only 3 lbs and I cannot keep up. I enjoy the dark room too, it helps with the focus element. Finally, I rode with McClaren who was very sweet and always asked if there were new people in the class and attempted to explain the set up before starting. Every single staff member has something beautiful to offer from the managers (esp angel on earth Ben C) to the instructors to the people that greet you at the front desk. You're guaranteed to find a class that fits your vibe but make sure to take Emily's class. I've never met an instructor in my 37 years that cares so much about every person that she works with. The woman is made of pure fire and she uses every ounce of what she has to build you up not only physically but mentally and emotionally. She kicks your butt in the best way possible all while reminding you that you are a powerful being worthy of all the love that life has to offer. I took my first class in September 2020, during the COVID pandemic, since my friend convinced me to try it out. I've tried other spin studios but Spark really stands out. - Each instructor has their own style/music so make sure to check them all out :) - classes start promptly and include stretching + cold eucalyptus (love love love) at the end - Music can get really loud so I always wear ear plugs. - weekly schedules are released on Sunday and you can cancel classes penalty free until 5pm the day before.
