There seems to be only one staircase that leads up to Elevate and it's located by Serenity Nails. So try to get there earlier if you need time to find the studio. I got there early (15min) and Ellen was the instructor. She was very welcoming and super nice. I was so grateful that she showed me the machines as they legit seem bionic and advance. She gave me quick tutorial. I liked how there were numbers on the machine so it's easier to understand hand/feet placement during class. I thought the standard 40 min class would be lame as how much of a workout can you get in 40min. But the class was TOUGH! It's non stop and some of the reps felt long (I think I'm in shape but dang, my hamstrings are still feeling it the next day). It's a very fast paced class which can be hard to follow as the teacher doesn't always demo the moves. I would often times look to another classmate so see what s/he was doing to try to follow along. Ellen would come by to correct form and also give encouragement which was awesome! I would try more classes here if I was in the area and if I stay with Classpass.

Umm. How do I put this when writing a review about a Spin/Yoga studio…read more I HATE spinning. I HATE yoga. So yeah...um...this studio normally wouldn't be my cup of tea. But they have a 3 class for $25 introductory promo that caught Miss Cheapo's eye. They have a special Pedal to Nirvana class: 40 min of cycling followed by a 30 min yoga class. This studio is unique b/c their spin bikes are aren't exactly 'stationary' . The bikes actually can sway side to side and it's quite a challenge when you have to stand up and pedal. Great core work out right (that's what we pro riders call it...j/k). It's a small studio so you really do get personal attention and the instructor greets each student before class. Esteban, one of the owners, is extremely nice (and cute!). I got there early b/c I wanted to acclimate myself with the studio and bike before class started. He took the time to explain the bike to me and helped me configure the bike's height to my own dimensions (sheesh...sounds like I'm describing a geometry class). I thought the spin/yoga combination would be a joke but it's surprisingly challenging, sweaty, and different. Julia, the instructor, was rad. Her physique is sic too - I swear that's why I was pushing myself b/c I kept thinking " I wanna look like her I wanna look like her". After the crazy insane 40 min spin class, you grab a mat and proceed with the yoga class (it was taught by same spin instructor). I'm not a yoga person AT ALL. I hate sitting still and the whole namaste, whatevernaya pose, whatever ashte-kumbaiyah-nanah pose never made sense to me. In fact, this is usually what I think of when I yoga: - what kinda wine sounds good right now: merlot... or a cab - if you could eat KFC right now would you order the regular or extra crispy - i wonder...what it would be like to...punch someone in the face right now - jeezloooeeez: that girl has the biggest you know what toe, yuck - I just wanna get the eff outta here I'm not saying I didn't say one (or two) of those things during this yoga class. But, it was a legit class. I was able to calm my mind a bit and the class also was pretty tough w/ few poses, planks, etcs. Sorry - I don't know names of the poses. Downward dog something, sun salutation something, jump/skip/hop something. It was definitely a cool way to end a spin class, that's for sure. Few things: - they have filtered water here so make sure to bring a water bottle - you can bring your own yoga mat but they have plenty you can use (no charge unlike some other places) - there's only one bathroom - I don't have those special spin shoes that click into the pedals and that seemed to be ok - I had a bike in the back of the class and the sun setting kinda glared on to the side of my face for a while . - the instructor gets off her bike and actually walks around class to see how each person is doing. I think she poked me in tummy to make sure my abs were engaged! - she even gave each rider a high five at the end : when have you ever seen that in another spin class! I highly recommend you try this place. I might have written this review in a tongue in cheek manner - but I really did enjoy myself during the class.

Julia is a super inspiring instructor and made the class fun and inviting. The spin portion is a great workout and the bikes are amazing. I've never ridden a stationary bike that felt so real. After the spin portion, you wind down with some relaxing yoga. I loved the yoga because I don't often stretch much after a workout and have all sorts of joint problems because of it, so it was really refreshing to slow down and get centered afterwards. Honor Pilates is a fantastic pilates studio in the heart of La Jolla!…read more Back in the day I use to go two other pilates studios nearby that no longer exist. It was awesome to check out Honor, definitely enjoyed their classes and such a great workout! Upon entering the studio is spacious, modern, and clean. I love the aesthetics here! I spoke with another student who was super friendly and motivating on her way out with her third time coming! She talked highly about Honor and seemed energetic and kind on her way out when I was entering in for my first class here. The person covering the desk was nice and both instructors I have taken were awesome. They have great music and help with form, I definitely felt the push and burn from doing Honor Pilates. Their machines are newer and easy to use if you are familiar with the older traditional reformers. Parking was easy when I came here, but it was mid morning during the weekday which makes it less busy.

I didn't have to worry at all during my class and she wasn't ready to leave when I came to pick her up! While I am currently a lagree girly, I can appreciate the change of pace here and there. I needed to ask the teacher to set up my machine as I had never used this type of reformer, she was very helpful with positioning and tips during class. They also have really cute swag here, I came home with new socks and a sweatshirt! After attending classes there, I actually switched my membership from my previous studio because the workouts at Soul Pilates are so much more challenging and effective. Every class pushes me in the best way possible. The workouts challenge my core strength, balance, and overall endurance, and I consistently feel like I'm being pushed to my limits. I leave every class knowing I got an incredible workout. My absolute favorite is their Master Class, which is their most advanced class. It is intense, in the best way. I come out of that class completely drenched and usually go straight home to shower and change. In all the studios and classes I attended before Soul Pilates, I had never experienced that level of intensity and consistency from every class. Another thing that really stands out about Soul Pilates is how innovative they are. They're the only Pilates studio I've seen that offers childcare, which is such an amazing option for parents who still want to prioritize their fitness. I think if you workout a lot, this class may be more of a rest day. The instructor was really fit but I wish she did more of the class with us because the moves are a little awkward sometimes, but again doable. What I did like about the class was its emphasis on balance. That is huge because as someone who hikes and plays sports, I'm always trying to find things to improve my balance so I don't fall. I did like this class for that. Glad I gave it a try! And I will add it into my routine.

A late arrival that is denied entry is not the same as not showing up at all, yet it is treated the same for billing purposes. That approach feels overly rigid and not customer-focused. Although the charges were eventually refunded after escalation, the process to resolve it was unnecessarily difficult. The instructors and front desk team were consistently positive and professional, which makes it even more disappointing that this issue appeared to be handled at the franchise owner/management level. The instructors are great, but the way this policy is enforced can be misleading and significantly detracts from the overall experience. 29 Apr 2026 Thank you for the response. To clarify, I did reach out directly to Nicole multiple times, as well as to the studio, to resolve this before posting. Despite that, the same "no-show" charges continued to be applied, including an additional charge after I updated my payment method, which directly contradicted the agreed plan. Classifying that as a "no-show" more than once and continuing to apply charges after the issue was raised, was the main concern. The charges were only refunded after I escalated the matter beyond the studio level. In addition, the refund was processed to a card that was no longer active without any communication with me, which required me to follow up with my bank to resolve. I appreciate that the refunds were ultimately processed, but the overall handling of this situation required far more effort than it should have. Going forward, I hope the studio applies the "no-show" policy in a way that more accurately reflects actual attendance, so members who are present are not treated the same as those who do not show up at all.

My first class at the new location was with Troy and it was amazing! NGL, but the air conditioning is nice and having showers there are so clutch! But the energy and rawness of getting after it on the bike is all Edge family business! To this day, Edge rides are the most challenging yet welcoming spin classes I've ever taken. He pushes you, he's very attentive to the students during class, and I love his energy. I've had a few issues with reserving spots. I've reached out through emails and texts. I briefly checked my phone to send something quick to my sister (which, in hindsight, I probably should have stepped out to do), but I genuinely didn't think it would be an issue since I've never seen a posted rule or signage stating that the studio is phone-free. I was caught off guard when I was called out by name during class in a way that felt more aggressive than necessary. If phone use is discouraged, I completely respect that -- but I think it would be more helpful to clearly communicate expectations beforehand or have signage posted. Especially if this has been an ongoing concern in classes, clarity would help avoid uncomfortable situations for everyone. I've also noticed comments from others in the studio about phone use before, which makes me think this may be a recurring issue from other riders as well. I just wish the approach had been kinder or more private, as being publicly called out took me out of the moment. While I may try a different instructor in the future, I still enjoyed the workout itself, loved the music, and appreciate the overall studio experience.
