While I was in Orange County, California (where I'm from), and taking care of family business over the span of two months, I found a good place to get my hair cut twice, and I was very satisfied with the results. Cypress Barbershop's online presence gave me the impression that they specialize in fades, but I know they do more than that, since they were giving various types of mens haircuts both times I was getting mine cut. Neither time did I make a reservation before coming here, since walkins are welcomed. One of the things that everyone heading to this barbershop should know is that they accept cash only. Cypress Barbershop is in a small shopping center, but there are more than enough parking spaces available at all times. When I visited, there were four barbers cutting hair each time. I waited at the most 10 minutes before getting my cut. On the wall behind the front counter is the price list for each type of haircuts. Mens haircuts are $18 and senior cuts are $15. This shop is kept clean. The same woman gave me a medium fade with a comb over both times. She took her time cutting my hair and was precise on how she wanted my hair to look. What I like about the barbers at Cypress is their skill in fades. They take their time to ensure a perfect cut. My usual choice is a number one medium fade with a trim on top. I prefer to keep things simple, and they always deliver. There isn't much chit-chat during the service; it's just a pleasant, quiet time with calm music in the background. These barbers take their time and do a pretty good job getting it the way you want. I asked for a mid fade with 1/2 clip instead of a zero. Fade is even on both sides. This is probably the worst haircut I've gotten. I'll be going to an actual shop to get it fixed tomorrow. The older guy with the sleeve tattoos cut my hair. First off, he insisted on completely shortening some of my longer hair on top which would push my part. I kept telling him. I told him no 3x times but he did it anyways. Came here on a Wednesday Afternoon because I needed a nice and cheap haircut. Saw this place and just had to go for it! Coming in there are three people that were cutting hair and I was next in line. I told the gentleman cutting my hair that I wanted a skin fade and also a trim on the top! He literally took his time and made sure my hair looked fine. He also cut my hair using textured scissors and made sure piece by piece it was good! Overall I love the pricing of this place and also the customer service! I've taken my tween son here twice. The first time easily would have been a five star review. My tween son's hair was a shaggy mess. He'd gotten used to not getting regular haircuts during the pandemic and his curly hair was overgrown. The barber was one of two barbers at the shop at the time. He was also there the second time, but, unfortunately, he wasn't the one who cut my son's hair. I don't think any words were exchanged the first time. He instinctively knew what my son wanted. And for $13, I was over the moon happy. The second visit was the polar opposite. I should have known when the other customers told the woman barber that, even though she was available and the other barber was not there, they would wait for him. I didn't know any better at the time, or we would have done the same. I showed her a photo of what my son wanted. She glanced at the photo for a few seconds, but based on the final result, it was either outside her skill set or she totally disregarded it. The end result was a disaster. She summoned me over to inspect it and all I could say was, "Um, okaaaaay." It's not like you can reattach hair once it's gone. Actual tears were shed once we left. My son has a tendency to be a bit dramatic at times, but even I couldn't lie and try to convince him it wasn't that bad. Because, it really was that bad. We made an appointment at Floyd's in Long Beach and Alex was able to fix it as best he could that same day. So, ultimately, crisis averted, but no thanks to Cypress Barber Shop. read more

These guys are the best. Thao (the owner) and his guys give you the proper time and attention to make you look your best. I found them earlier this year and have been coming here every two weeks or so ever since. On top of that, they are awesome with my kids! I started taking my 5yo a few months ago and they've given him the best looking haircuts he's ever had. They are super patient and give him the same care and attention that they give the grown ups. We used to take him to the kidz cutz type places and paid $30+ for mediocre hair cuts but no more. He loves the job that John (the older Asian guy) does and we can both get our hair cut at the same time. I even have them giving haircuts to my 9 month old!
