The room was cozy and thoughtfully set up with a mini fridge (perfect for storing leftovers), a coffee and tea station, and an incredibly comfortable bed that made it hard to leave in the mornings. The bar and brunch alone are worth the visit. Everything we tried was amazing, but the stuffed French toast completely stole the show, hands down the best French toast I've ever had. We also ordered the tostadas, biscuits and gravy, and avocado toast, and every dish was full of flavor and beautifully done. The mimosas were just as impressive; I tried the guava mimosa for the first time and it was so refreshing and delicious. To top it all off, the atmosphere is absolutely perfect. Sometimes they have live music, and you can also head out back to relax by the fire, which really adds to the overall experience. It's peaceful, charming, and feels like the perfect escape. This is truly one of the best places to stay in Wimberley, and we can't wait to come back.

We had brunch at the kitchen and it was perfect. The Bloody Maria was a refreshing start to the day. He got the bacon breakfast tacos, served with with guacamole and salsa. I had the avocado toast which was topped with microgreens and radishes! It was tasty, filling, and fresh. Looking forward to our next stay here. And can't wait to use the pool this summer!

***PARENTS OF THE BRIDE REVIEW***…read more You have seen our daughter's review, so we thought it was only fair that we provide information from our vantage point as well. My wife and I have been staying at the Square Inn for many years now and have always been impressed with the wonderful hospitality provided by Marci, Lloyd and their team. From the wonderful rooms to the fresh cooked breakfast's every morning it is more like visiting family than staying in a bed and breakfast. When they started construction on their Legacy Lounge our only daughter was already engaged and looking for a venue. We immediately recommended that she consider having her wedding here and once she had a chance to take a look she was sold as well. From the very beginning Marci was there to help with suggestions for the wedding and referrals to local businesses that could help us put together the wedding my daughter wanted. Given that our daughter informed us in November she wanted to be married in late April or early May I do not think we could have put this together without her. In the end we booked not only the Legacy Lounge but all 8 rooms of the Square Inn as well. I highly recommend this arrangement as there were enough rooms for the wedding party and increased the footprint of the event allowing for a truly unique experience. We would find out as time went on that the value received on our money was greater than what we believe we would have received at any of the other venues we looked at. Marci, Lloyd and their team were again on point on the day of the wedding providing the services of wedding coordinator, bar staff and entertainment coordinator. There was never a long line at the bar. When some guests wanted to watch the hockey playoffs Marci made that happen on an outside TV. Fire Pit? Here came Lloyd to make the fire come to life. It was almost as if it were if it was one of their own children was getting married that day. At the end of the evening when it was time to go, we moved the happy couple to the front of the Square Inn where they were able to say goodbye to all their guests and finally relax for the evening. As we had booked all the rooms, only the wedding party remained after the ceremony and reception and the bride and groom were able to spend a quiet night in the courtyard with their closest friends relaxing after what had been a couple of very busy and stressful days. This was the most unique wedding we have ever attended and we cannot think of anything that could have made it better. If you are looking for a somewhere to hold a special event, do yourselves a favor and give the Legacy Lounge / Square inn a look. I can guarantee you will not be disappointed.

Less than 24 hours after booking, my brother's wife unexpectedly went into labor and I had to cancel immediately to be there for my family. I completely understood there may be policies in place, but after spending $1,200 as a single mother, I simply asked for a future stay credit or some level of compassion. Instead, I was met with cold, robotic responses and zero willingness to work with me. It's incredibly disappointing when a place values policy over people, especially in situations that are unexpected and family-related. Sadly, this experience completely changed my view of staying here, and I'll absolutely choose somewhere else in the future.

If you're looking for the perfect blend of luxury, nature, and total relaxation, Onera Wimberley is where you need to be. This is not just a place to stay--it's an experience, a retreat, a little slice of paradise tucked into the rolling Texas Hill Country. I love that you can enjoy all there is about camping in the hill country - the wildlife, the trails to hike, the rolling hills that lovingly kiss the sun good morning and good night, while still relaxing in elegance and modern comforts (the BEDS! Oh my gosh!) Bring good hiking shoes! The photos I took don't do it justice, but whether you're an early riser or a sunset chaser, Onera delivers. Mornings here are nothing short of magical as the sun peeks over the hills, and evenings? They are breathtaking. Watching the sun dip below the horizon, painting the sky in shades of gold, pink, and lavender, is worth every second and every penny of your escape. We took a hike to watch the sunset and I highly recommend it - the golden hues that play on the event center at dusk are just gorgeous. The way the space is so peaceful only adds to your ability to unwind and forget about everything outside of the Onera gates. Onera isn't just about a place to sleep--it's about staying somewhere that feels both indulgent and adventurous. Think treehouse-style accommodations and sleek, modern retreats nestled right into nature. Each space is beautifully designed to offer comfort with floor-to-ceiling windows that bring the outside in. And the best part? Many of the decks come with private hot tubs, so you can soak under the stars in total bliss. Ours did and we took full advantage of it. Oh, and speaking of soaking--the infinity pool at Onera is absolutely stunning. Perched perfectly to overlook the Hill Country, it's the ultimate spot to unwind. Whether you're floating with a drink in hand or lounging on the deck, the views will steal the show. If you're looking for a place to host an unforgettable wedding, retreat, or celebration, Onera's event center is incredible! Surrounded by nature and designed with elegance, it's the perfect setting for any special occasion. The lighting is perfection in the event center and the views?... Chef's kiss! From check-in to checkout, the staff at Onera go above and beyond to make sure your stay is flawless. Every little detail is handled with care, and their warmth and hospitality make you feel right at home. I had a spectacular stay and look forward to returning again soon! Thanks, Onera! This ol gal needed a break and you not only came through, you did that and more!

After looking at wedding venues all over the Austin area I quickly became discouraged and felt like I would never find something that would check all the boxes. That is until we found Messina Inn, a small family owned and operated venue tucked into the quaint town of Wimberly. From the moment you drive through the gates you are transported to an Italian countryside villa where you can spend the weekend relaxing with 32 of your closest friends and family. Each cottage and private room has a beautiful view of Cypress Creek, surrounded by trees, and the occasional deer visitor. All rooms have large private bathrooms, king sized beds, and a fireplace, which added an extra cozy touch when the temps dropped the day before our wedding. As guests arrive at your wedding they step onto a sprawling lawn with tall trees, rock wall features, and views of the creek. We felt like we were submerged in nature for 72 hours and even heard some friends calling it a fancy adult summer camp. The venue is so beautiful that when it came to decor, we found that minimal was best, as we only needed to enhance the beautiful property. After reviewing all of our photos I'm happy with our decision, there is truly not a bad photo from the whole place! We chose the all inclusive package which included full use of the venue from Friday through Sunday. This was a nice touch for our friends and family staying on-site as we did not have to worry about transportation throughout the weekend. This plan also includes having Cherri coordinate and select certain vendors for your wedding, included the florist, cake bakery, bartenders, DJ, and lighting. If you are planning a wedding you probably already know the amount of decisions you are having to make. So it was a nice touch not having to locate these extra vendors, and because they have a relationship with the venue I felt confident in their work. Whether you choose all inclusive or not, you will be required to use the in-house catering. Do not let this deter you!! Trust me!! The head chef, Jason, is a part of the family that runs Messina Inn and I have never tasted any food of his that I didn't love. Throughout your planning process you'll have the opportunity to attend 3 tastings where they prepare different selections from their menu for you to try. The options range from mouth watering pecan crusted chicken, to brisket tacos, and savory macaroni and cheese bites. Since this is a small business you can trust that there is a high level of care and attention to detail when it comes to the food being prepared for your wedding. We loved the food so much we even chose to add on their catering for our rehearsal dinner. Throughout our planning process and into the weekend of our wedding we were well taken care of by Messina Inn's staff. Cherri went above and beyond making sure that all vendors were on time and in place. She even brought breakfast to me on the morning of the wedding so that I didn't have to walk to the breakfast room in my robe and slippers and risk bumping into the groom. Throughout the reception she made sure the groom and I were taken care of with beverages. Cherri handled all the little fires that find a way to come up on wedding days, demanding family members, weather control, and last minute setup changes. Cherri wears a lot of hats when it comes to your wedding weekend and her hard work did not go unnoticed. Thanks to Messina Inn we were able to fully submerge ourselves into the wedding weekend experience with our closest loved ones. We had such a memorable weekend wedding and I'm grateful that Messina Inn is a place that we will be able to come back and stay for many years to come.

That made it feel much more intimate and like you were a part of the location. We purchased our tickets online for fear of getting a sold out show. They had by donation hot chocolate, coffee and cookies during the fifteen minute intermission. The acting was also on par with expectations for a small theater. This little theater and glade really captured both my heart and my imagination a few weeks ago during the Butterfly Festival. There's a poignant story behind the name of the EmilyAnn, but I'll leave it to you to discover it on their website. There's an equally touching story behind Justin's Castle, but you'll have to visit in person to learn about that one. What I didn't know was that there were so many events held here. Christmas features a trail of lights. There are various theater productions throughout the year at the three outdoor stages. There's a beautiful Veterans Memorial Plaza and stage at the top of the hill. There's a life-size chess-checker board. And a betrothal tree. In short, the EmilyAnn is not just a one-trick-pony. Parking is next door at Wimberley High School. I'd like to say the grounds are accessible, but unfortunately they're not. However, there is an access road for drop-off at the main stage at the top of the hill. Instead, if you call ahead, they will apparently make arrangements for golf cart service for those with mobility impairments. Live a little. Life is short. Check this place out sometime soon. You'll be glad you did.
