Was terrible my dad passed away back in 2020 I ordered the stone on august 2021 it was suppose to be done march or first week of April nothing was done excuse over excuse one day machines were broken one day all the employees were sick one day they had to close the business for the day because it was too hot when I called week before they said there's an issue with the foundation they just tried the cemetery and the person said it's not done yeah he needs 2 to 3 weeks more I knew it was another silly excuse so I called the cemetery my self the person picked up the phone said yes he did get call but the stone maker told him he is not close to be done he told me he did not tell him anything about the foundation he also added the foundation was done back in September 13, 2021 with prove I had to go to the point where I threatened him and said if he don't finish the stone by 3 days I was gonna report him to the county to cancel his license and fill a fraudulent complain to San Jose PD they panic and finished everything it was the most terrible experience I ever had it was my first time doing all these instead of making things easier for me they made it more complicated the only good thing about the place was the stone it was pretty cool

    Carl and the kitties.

This place was literally an answer to prayers. I had been referred to another place in town to get my husband's marker made. Unfortunately that place never answers their phone, returns calls or is open during their posted business hours (found this out the hard way.) I was so discouraged and sad since this is already an overwhelming task for me after losing my husband, best friend and love of my life. My kids were really wanting me to get this ordered so I was so frustrated. When I found this place on yelp, I called immediately. And guess what!? Someone answered the phone and talked to me with empathy and compassion. I drove straight over and met Carl and some of the kitties that live there. This made me feel so comforted to see cats all around the place. Carl spent almost 3 hours with me custom designing the perfect marker for my love. His expertise, suggestions and patience carried me through the process. It will take about 3 months to be finished. When I told him about the kids wanting it quickly, he offered to make a temporary marker for Craig's grave. A week later it was done. And was absolutely beautiful. I can't recommend this place enough. They are the real deal. Totally blessed my socks off! PS. Parking can be difficult if you can't pull into their driveway. It's downtown and lots of one way streets so be careful.

My grandpa was one-of-a-kind so we got him a headstone that is one-of-a-kind. Thanks to Carl and his son who helped me out!!!!

Other funerals I've gone to, the staff members whether working in parking control, or guiding the pall bearers seemed more caring. They'll make sure the family's experience is emaculate, or at least almost perfect. Here, they don't greet you, nor at least try to assist the elders especially in the parking lot. They'll just stand there with a blank look to make sure you're okay... without even a smile. But they are seemingly professional with their guidance. Definitely not naturally charismatic. I hope they like their jobs. For me, it's been sad to keep experiencing loss of loved ones. We are getting older, and it's called the circle of life. Going back to the cemetery itself, the graves are quite scattered. You'll see clusters filled, and then empty spots steps away. The views of San Jose City is beautiful! Blue skies. Birds chirping, some wind, made my experience wonderful. Of course depending on the weather. The cemetery is still expanding into unused land. However, some nice homes are built directly across the street, where the lawn may be shared (literally). Luckily, I'm friends with Casper, and Poltergeist is only a movie. LOL. I'd say it's an average 3.8 stars experience.

She was patient and helpful and made sure we were comfortable with the setup and ensured things ran smoothly. The presentation was clean and personalized to our religionious preferences. Darling & Fischer were very professional from the first phone call, when I spoke to Maribel, who picked up the phone at a very late hour. Our loved one passed away in another state, and they coordinated with the other mortuary to receive her at the airport. The rest of the staff were gracious and helpful as well, and there was always someone receiving guests at the entrance or making sure to help guests find our place. The casket and flowers surpassed expectations, and the AV setup was sufficient for the size of the room (the main chapel downstairs). A separate room was also prepared for refreshments and coffee, and a podium for speakers. Annie worked with our religious leader to have the altar set up, and the settings were beautiful. After the funeral procession departed for the burial site we forgot several items. Steve and Danna were there and remembered to bring it for us. It's the little details that made this memorable and painless. I am considering DF for my own policy now that I'm older, and definitely know they will take good care of my family when it's my turn.

I was looking at mortuaries, alone with an unfamiliar duty in an unfamiliar location. I finally turned to Yelp to see what was posted about mortuaries I'd looked at when David from Honor Cremations popped up to say he thought he could help me. I truly felt an instant feeling of safety and trust. Sometimes we're lucky enough to get guidance. David is kind, sympathetic and morale. I spent the next several years feeling secure for when the time came. One of the few things I was able to feel secure about. When my husband did pass in the middle of the night in the veteran hospital hospice, they knew to call Honor. Because it might take time for Honor to arrive, the hospital wanted to take my husband to their mortuary and I refused saying we would wait for Honor. I trusted them and knew he'd be in good hands and those feelings were right. The gentleman who arrived to take my husband helped the nurse prepare him so when he came out of the room he was draped in the American flag. With everything else my husband and I went through with the change in care facilities, finances, and just 'handling it all' as my husband's condition worsened over the years, David's honesty and compassion took this step off my shoulders. I have purchased Honor Cremation for myself, so our children have the confidence to know everything will be taken care of. Thank you David and Honor Cremations. Losing a parent is incredibly hard, but they handled everything with such a high level of dignity and grace that it truly eased some of the burden for us. Communication: From the very first call, I felt heard and supported. They were incredibly patient with all of my questions and kept me updated every step of the way, which gave me so much peace of mind. The Process: I found their approach to be very modern, transparent, and straightforward. There was never any pressure or "salesy" feeling, just genuine empathy and a focus on what my mother and our family needed. The Memorial: They helped us navigate the details for her memorial with so much respect. Everything was handled professionally, allowing us to focus on honoring her memory rather than worrying about the logistics. I am so grateful to have had their guidance during this time. If you are looking for a team that treats your loved ones with true honor and provides a seamless, compassionate experience, I cannot recommend them highly enough. I also really appreciated the honesty in their business model. I know it could technically be cheaper if they did every single thing in-house, but they intentionally use outside sources for certain steps to ensure everything is handled by specialists. I actually felt like I got more value this way because I knew I was getting the best possible care at every stage. It's also worth noting for other families that they don't have an embalming service; they focus purely on a dignified, natural process which was exactly what we wanted for my mom. I am so grateful to have had their guidance during this time. If you are looking for a team that treats your loved ones with true honor and provides a seamless, compassionate experience, I cannot recommend them highly enough. Thank you, Honor Cremation, for taking such wonderful care of my mom.

We received the time of the service less than 24 hours in advance and unbeknownst to us the location was not disclosed till Wednesday evening for a Friday service making it difficult for out of town friends and family to travel. In our grief my brother chose Sacred Space because he thought it was a local funeral home. The "transportation" company who took our Mom was low budget. The fitted sheet goes over the guerney! The van was not detailed and had a Hawaiian warrior head made of a coconut shell and feathers hanging from the rear view mirror. Is this a personal vehicle?! And a tree deodorizer hanging at the rear door. Sacred Space is not a Funeral Home it is the mailing address used for an office and your loved one will be contracted out to an actual funeral home/mortuary elsewhere and in our case over an hour away! The last thing a grieving family needs is confusion and unnecessary drama. Skip the mortuary middleman and deal directly with a reputable brick and mortar Mortuary.

From the very first call, the team made the entire process so much easier and more manageable for us. They guided us step-by-step--from helping us schedule meetings, to clearly explaining what needed to be done depending on the practices we chose (Catholic or Christian), to handling all of the important documents on our behalf. Their advice was always practical, honest, and rooted in experience. One thing that gave us tremendous peace of mind was knowing that my father would be cared for with dignity during his full-body repatriation to the Philippines. They ensured that he would arrive safely and properly prepared, and we are forever grateful for that reassurance. A special thank you goes to Tom Beddingfield, who was a true anchor through all of this. His patience, professionalism, and steady guidance made an overwhelming process so much easier for our family. I cannot thank him enough for a job exceptionally well done. We also want to highlight the incredible work of Dean DeBruin, who created my dad's video tribute. This was no simple task--my father had a massive and disorganized collection of photos totaling 16 gigabytes. Dean was unbelievably patient, kind, and accommodating through every revision and request. The final tribute was heartfelt, beautiful, and truly captured who my dad was. The coordination between the funeral team and the church was seamless. The staff communicated directly with the parish where we planned to hold the viewing and funeral mass, which removed so much stress from us. We are especially thankful to Fr. Francis, who reached out personally to learn about my father's life so he could honor him meaningfully during the service. We would also like to express our deep appreciation to Noriel P. Adricula, the incredible singer and pianist who provided the music for the funeral mass. His performance was heartfelt and beautiful--exactly what my father deserved. All who attended my father's funeral were in awe of how beautifully everything was managed--professional, heartfelt, and all at a very reasonable price. We felt supported every step of the way, and we are truly grateful for the care this team provided to our father and to us.

I found myself in a crisis situation where the sheriffs department told me to call a mortuary to come take care of a relative. It was a weekend and I had absolutely no idea how to proceed. I gave them a call and explained my situation and the wonderful woman who answered my call walked me through exactly what the next steps were. I didn't get her name, but she was absolutely fantastic to work with in a very difficult situation. A few hours later, the right folks arrived and took care of the situation. The following Monday first thing in the morning we went to the funeral home and met with Paul. Paul was right out of central casting for somebody to guide us through what would happen over the next two weeks. Paul spent about an hour and a half with us that morning walking us through all of the things we needed to make decisions about and next steps. He was absolutely fantastic to work with and I can't possibly imagine how that very difficult experience could have been any better than to have been guided by Paul. I hope that if I ever find myself in this situation in the future, I can find Paul or somebody exactly like him. For the funeral itself, Michael was our funeral director and again we could not have asked for a better person to be in charge. Michael knew exactly what to do intuitively and working with him at the cemetery was absolutely fantastic. I really can't recommend Alameda Family any higher. Well, from my very first call (when my husband started hospice). I had no clue what I was doing, or what to ask, but Vince was professional, compassionate, and informative. He gave me pointers on how to purchase a burial plot, and offered additional helpful tips. As we ended the call he offered "Call me anytime with questions - even if you don't select us." Who does that?! Lima-Campagna-Alameda does! (I love that they truly are Family Owned) I'd looked at other funeral homes and then met with Angelo (also at Lima) - with my friend in tow. He was equally warm and helpful, and we even managed to share some laughs (thanks to my friend). And after seeing their facilities, the decision was made. Yes, it was a funeral home, but it just felt "right." Very warm and soothing (I know that sounds weird!). Hubby passed much sooner than expected, but we ended up making the final arrangements with Vince (Angelo was sad he couldn't be there that day!). I had taken their advice about finding a plot, and purchasing a casket. They saved me literally thousands of dollars (no joke!). Mind you, funerals ain't cheap - and Lima is not the cheapest (they're definitely not the most expensive either!), but they got us through the whole process as smoothly and painlessly as possible. And I never once felt like I was being nickel-and-dimed to death (can't say the same for some other mortuaries). They don't even make you pay to play your own slide-show/music on the big screen TV during visitation. My husband's funeral was yesterday and it was absolutely perfect in every way. We'd emailed a recent pic to them, and they did an amazing job of making him look very natural. While I hope to not do business with them again (at least not anytime soon!), I want to extend my sincerest gratitude to Vince, Angelo, and the team at Lima-Campagna-Alameda Funeral Home!
