He was frequently called the cutest old man and told he had a great smile from multiple staff. There were wait times for certain treatments, but the staff was busy. The treatment was great, but what impressed me more was how my mom was treated. The job of the staff is to take care of my dad. But they were so incredibly caring towards my mom and family. Big shout out to Alexia. She comforted my mom all the time with words and hugs. When he passed, so many staff went out their way to hug my mom. Not generic "sorry for loss," but with love and tears in their eyes too. They took a horrible time for our family, made it just a little bit easier knowing we could trust them with my precious dad's care.

Ridgecrest was the best if the worse. Of course when we went to check out the place they promised the sun, the stars and the moon. Upon transferring my friend there it took them 2 weeks before they even started physical therapy in the mean time the clock is ticking on her benefits. The food was barely palatable. Canned vegetables, over processed meats and delivered cold to boot. Tell me how can you make scrambled eggs taste bad? They managed. Their physical therapist are the only bright and shinning area in this place. Kudos to them. Nursing staff is rude, inconsiderate, lack an ounce of compassion, care or concern. To sum it up, I wouldn't send my worst enemy there.

They are severly understaffed (their excuse) and don't seem able to provide adequate care for my mom who is now in a wheel chair. I have complained and they say yes, yes but ultimately nothing changes. I would be wary of any promises from them in the shopping or admitting processes. They were not clear about how assisted living works and ended up pricing us for level one and a few months after she moved in they moved her from 1 to 4 the highest level. The cost and process for determing this was not made clear to use in the sales process. Basically they promise a lot but don't keep their promises. In addition if your family members is in a wheel chair this is definately not the place for them. The apartment doors are to heavy to open on her own and if its not 9-5 on their front entrance which is handicapped accessible is not open. That is also worth know before you move in. The front desk is only open from 9-5ish on M-F and 9-3ish on weekends. When the front entrance is locked it is almost impossible for her to get out of the building or for that matter into the building. I am extremely disapointed in the quality of care. This place markets themselves as upscale independent and assisted living but I would not make the decision to put my mom into their assisted living again for what we pay there are many better and less expensive options. Seriously look elseware. They are shiny and new but they are mediocre at providing services. You can do better.

As my father-in-law declined…read morein health in an Assisted Living, family opted in for services with a smaller hospice agency. They were kind, caring, but in way over their heads. His behaviors became increasingly erratic, needing family to stay with him 24/7, even though he was in Assisted Living. 3 ER trips in 3 days, physicians at the ER were all saying "this is end of life" - but the smaller hospice couldn't support us with the services we needed - basically, keeping him comfortable, calmed, able to rest, and not so fearful. We made the call to HOV and that same day, EVERYTHING was being addressed. He went from literally trying to climb the walls, injuring himself, thinking there were killers hiding in his shower, to resting quietly. We were kept updated by the compassionate HOV team. This made everything so much easier. The stress on family during this time is unbelievable - to know your loved one is in such great care, that we don't have to be there 24/7 while juggling work, home, kids, etc. is an incredible weight lifted. I've also worked with HOV on numerous occasions for work. As a nurse, I'm confident in recommending HOV. I also needed the 8 hours of training mandated by AZ for dementia care - and HOV provided that for free to our entire staff and did a tremendous job. I WOULD RECOMMEND PHX Mountain to anyone! The care is TOP NOTCH! I'm on the younger side (For once) to be in a Skilled nursing home! I took care of my father and mother before they passed so I know nursing homes ALL OVER PHOENIX AREA including Tempe, Chandler, Mesa, P.V., I know how scary and terrifying some of these places are! That is not the case for Phoenix Mountain on Tatum. The nurses like nurse Barry and nurse. Tristan are amazing. I can't say enough great things. The rooms were clean. The food was fantastic. OK there was a couple days a couple meals are weird, however, 90% of the time the food was phenomenal! When I was there, they had a fantastic chef! The physical therapy team outstanding, the nurses aids or the CNA's down to the housekeeping crew we're incredible. They kept that place immaculate. Although the nurses are overworked, they need a raise and they need to have a one nurse per hallway!!!!! then it will run so much smoother for the nurses. The nurses worked their buns off! and I am so appreciative of that and I am so grateful! I cannot tell you how pleasantly surprised I was of how great this place was!, the people that lived there and that were in my same situation were awesome. My room was lovely. I overlooked a fountain and had lots of sunlight and I had my own bathroom. My roommate was incredible Patricia. She's a 93-year-old blind woman who is the most interesting person. She was awesome, again the place was fantastically clean! It looks a little old older, but it makes up for everything of how great the nurses are and the care is, it was great. The food was great. They even have an area outside where they had a big barbecue and we had hamburgers and hotdog for everyone and they have tons and tons of activities. If that's what your people are into, they had games they had workouts. It was incredible. I can't say enough good things and I'm only in my 50s and I was so surprised but so grateful! I also did have a loved one who stayed there and she had a good experience there too!, so take it from me, I was just there the last day of February 2026 for an entire month until April and I cannot say enough good things about this place! As a healthcare professional, it's a shameful disgrace the way staff are treating human beings. Our facility just received a new resident from there and let me tell you how awful he arrived. He appears to be neglect; he had no pants on and was literally full off crap, hair oily, face dirty, clothes were dirty. Overall if you want the bare minimal care this is the place for you. But if you want the care that you or your loved deserves look elsewhere.
