Inedible egg rolls
Jessilyn C.

I've been here a few times. I usually get pho, or the chicken fried roll bun. This time I got extra fried roll and it looked like it had freezer burn, then they deep fried it. It just wasn't good. Reason I gave 3 stars instead of two, to be fair the rest of the food was adequate. It's near the salon I frequent so it's convenient, and past meals weren't bad. However with so many Vietnamese restaurants around, not sure want to go back again.

CÁT SANG @ KENT Came to this place on a Sunday morning with my parents and grandparents. They seated us fairly quick. Parking is free and available out front. Table and seats were perfectly clean, and the ambiance was bright and lovely. There were lots of people coming in as well. The service could've been worked a bit better, we didn't have a server for like 10 minutes. My mom had to grab someone from the counter. We ended ordering a couple dishes, including the M4. Yellow Noodles with shrimp, pork, and squid. It was pretty delicious, and it came out within a couple minutes. The flavor was there, it was the right amount of salty, and it also came with bean sprouts, lettuce, and a lime slice. My dad ended up getting a rice bowl BD, which was a combination with means, shrimp, and egg rolls. Delicious! Overall, I would come back, it's amazing, but don't expect top notch service, you will most likely have to grab a server.

Me and my sisters would come here on almost every weekend, it's kinda like our weekly hangout spot! You can sit whenever and the place is always on top of things, the servers are super nice and they'll make sure your food comes out right away. Me and my sisters will either get their kids pho, p1, P3, p10, or their rice plate c10, I personally love their rice plate which is like a short ribs with fried eggs. For appetizers we like their gyoza's or their spring rolls, those are always a good choice. As for drinks will either get some Thai tea or any of their milk shakes, now if you really need something strong get their coffee because it's super good!

Another just ok pho spot (but still better than most Eastside spots I've put up with). Came here since a coworker recommended it. Prices are a bit lower for pho, but honestly l wasn't able to distinguish the difference between the small vs large pho for noodle quantity. The order came out very quickly; broth hot, brisket lean and abundant enough. The beef broth was good (sensing some MSG in there?), but depth of flavor lacking. Skip the chicken pho, flavorless broth and not traditional, but at least it was only my son's kid's meal. I'd probably come back just for the spring rolls (cha gio) alone. Service was fast while internally there is lots of dining space.

I have been going to this place for over 10 years now and it has always been the best! The service is quick and the food is delicious! What more do you need at a pho place? It is not fancy, but it is clean. Plus, the price has always been lower than other pho places in the area.

Pho Cat Sang in Kent, Washington is truly one of the best Vietnamese pho spots I've ever experienced--and I'm from Las Vegas! The depth of flavor here is unmatched, with a variety of pho options you don't usually find, like brisket and tendon pho. The restaurant has been around for 30 years, full of life, packed with locals, and clearly loved by regulars. The atmosphere feels authentic and welcoming. The Vietnamese coffee is hands-down the strongest and best I've ever had. I'm already dreaming of coming back! The pho and bun bo hue is not bad. It's $13.75 for a small. We also ordered a small steak and flank pho. All the sides it came with - bean sprouts, basil, japaleno was fresh. However there was a misunderstanding when I wanted extra noodles. I assumed the extra noodles would be on the side in a broth like how most pho restaurants are. But the noodles came right in the soup and sadly, it was a bummer I had to pay $2 extra for the pho. Also the menu's not up to date with prices so I've included it. It's hard to find $11 pho anymore. We're from Bellevue and even in Kent, a pho place like this can be over $15. I was going to give 3 stars but since the manager compted the extra noodles for me because of the misunderstanding I bumped it up to a 4. I probably wouldn't come here again for the price and value reasons. Also their old menu used to say 3 spring rolls for the price. Now they only give you 2 for like $6. Idk again... being in the Kent area hoping for cheaper prices, it didn't happen here.

Good vibes, good music, and sweet staff. Both the pho and the rice dishes slap. Must try their lemonade and iced coffee!

Fatty flank steak and tendon pho

First time trying this place today. We had pho with fatty gland and tendon and Bun Bo Hue. The Bon Bo Hue smelled a little too fishy for my standards, but the taste was good and not too fishy. Broth of the pho was ok, but didn't seem exceptional. We got a too go order and the broth had cooled down a bit, so I'm sure it would have been better in restaurant. Prices seem average, and servings were plenty big for us. They were busy. Service was efficient.

The table was dirty so we had to ask them to clean the table. We ordered spring rolls, a combination vermicelli bowl, and a pork & shrimp bowl. Spring rolls: had pork, 2 shrimp, and bean sprouts. They were refreshing. The peanut sauce was yummy. 4/5 Vermicelli bowls: the egg roll in the combination bowl was super crunchy and the inside was filled with juicy meat. The pork was charred to give a smokey flavor and was tender. But the shrimp was a bit salty. 4.5/5 I would order these again!

If you're ethnic Chinese/Asian looking for true Taiwanese food that'll give you a ratatouille moment, this isn't it. We went on a weekend late night dinner and the place was decently full. We were the only Asians there and the rest of the patrons were Westerners. That should tell you everything you need to know. Ambiance and service was 5/5. Very clean, hip restaurant in a safe part of Seattle. Perfect for a date. More than half of the wait staff was Chinese as were all the kitchen staff from what we could tell, so if you spoke mainly Chinese, you'd be fine and they would be familiar with Taiwanese food. Portion sizes are smaller and pricing matches, respectfully, so you can try different things. I'd say as an adult, you could order a couple plates and you'd be more than full. Food was 3.5-4. Sorry, I can't confidently rate it any higher than a 4. We had to try the beef noodle soup 3.5/5. Broth was good. Vegetables were romaine lettuce which wasn't authentic, but fine. Beef was definitely on the leaner side and definitely tougher (maybe because it was so lean), so maybe this was to cater to western tastes? Noodles were ok... too similar to ramen for our tastes... and that was a comment several of us made, independently. Onion pancake was 3.5/5. Meh, nothing too exciting. Beef sandwich was a dud. 2.5/5. Skip. It was like they took an onion pancake and used it for the roll/skin... pretty oily. Vegetables were just chopped lettuce. No cucumbers or cilantro from my memory, but it's been a few days so maybe I'm not remembering correctly. We also had different xao-long baos (they only had one pork left), cold peanut butter/cucumber noodles, dumplings, spicy cold cucumbers... and they were all 3.5-4ish. Nothing crazy. In the end, again, if you're looking to just get a broad taste of Taiwanese food, this is it. If you're looking to get a genuine taste of Taiwan, this isn't it.

The restaurant is tucked away in a strip mall leading to ranch 99 (Asian supermarket). I've had this spot pinned on my Google Maps for the longest time but just never had the opportunity to make the drive there. This place was easy to miss if you don't look carefully so I'm glad I saw this recommended by a Seattle foodie I follow on instagram. We ordered the spicy braised beef noodles and steamed dumplings to share since we weren't that hungry. The braised beef noodles BLEW ME AWAY. The broth was so rich and savory, my mom commented that it tasted better than the one at din tai fung (we are frequent visitors & I agree) and the noodles were chewy (I love thick noodles!!). The dumplings were very juicy and flavorful but nothing too special. Service was prompt and servers were really friendly. There were so many other dishes on the menu featuring traditional Chinese dishes that looked delicious and so I do want to come back to try those when I am hungry! Definitely a hidden gem for good Asian food :)

Vermicelli was a 3.5 as it was fresh and a good serving (4) but the grilled pork was on the cooler side and didn't taste as crisp and fresh off the grill as you'd expect (3). Best part of the pho was the broth as it wasn't too salty like it can be sometimes elsewhere (4). Veggies were super fresh. Sliced beef was previously sliced and the whole chunk was placed in so you had to tease apart the slices from each other which was a little different than my experiences elsewhere. SKIP THE SPRING ROLLS. Picture had three shrimps/roll. Ours had 1/roll on one side with a slice of pork (I think) on the other. Seemed pretty skimpy if you ask me (2.5 at best). Service was good (4). Location was in a small strip mall with a Mexican and Indian place next door. The bars over nearly the entire front storefront were definitely interesting. For an out-of-towner, this part of Kent seems like a Santa Ana/Westminister/Garden Grove of OC, CA kind of an area with different ethnic offerings up and down the street.
