This spot has become one of my go-to staples, especially since it's such an easy drive and there's plenty of convenient parking right by the Fred Meyer. It's the kind of place you can count on when you're craving something comforting but don't want to deal with any hassle getting there. I almost always find myself ordering the bun bo hue - it's flavorful, and hits every time. Their vermicelli bowls are another favorite of mine, super fresh and satisfying with the perfect balance of textures. Their meat and toppings are amazing. You really can't go wrong with either. What keeps me coming back (besides the food) is the service. The staff is consistently friendly, quick, and genuinely welcoming. My mother insisted on taking me out for lunch during one of my days off, however there are not many good Vietnamese restaurants in Federal Way but I remember coming to Lang Viet before with my family and it was pretty good. Good thing Yelp reminded me that it's not too far from my mother's house. The restaurant was nice decorated as if it's a small village in Vietnam with alot of cute decors. There's a good amount of space and seating in there, plenty of parking as it shares a complex with other stores. The service was exceptional, the staff was really attentive and friendly. The food was decently portioned and well-priced. It tastes authentic, flavorful and fulfilling. I would totally come back here and recommend you to try it out if you haven't already. We ordered a mix of dishes, including the grilled chicken, grilled pork, and lemongrass chicken bún bowls, and every one of them was excellent. The meats were flavorful, tender, and nicely grilled with that perfect char that adds so much flavor. The fresh herbs, crisp vegetables, and noodles all tasted fresh and balanced everything out really well. The sauces tied it all together and made each bowl even better. Nothing felt heavy or overly salty--just fresh, satisfying, and genuinely well made. You can tell care goes into the food here. I had been searching for a similar broken rice dish like the popular Vietnam House restaurant in Seattle Chinatown district once served in the early 2010s: the kind of broken rice dish that would have pork chop, shredded pork skin, fried egg, fried shrimp meat on sugar cane, and fried bean curd roll. Well, the only thing that was missing from this broken rice dish from Lang Viet is shredded pork skin, but yah know what? They still got other ingredients on that dish (look at my picture!) that would make it super acceptable. Just letting you know that this establishment is like no others... the restaurant interior looking clean & fancy. There is a bar for you to sit as well. It's a full bar, y'all. Additionally, I enjoyed looking at the decor corner, where it's being decked-out like a little village entrance and there is a literal corner with the old-fashion Vietnamese concession stand. Additionally, the service was good on the day I came in. I am not sure how it is when the restaurant is slammed busy, but I thought the lone server that provided service for me was really nice and even talked to me in Vietnamese. My boyfriend and I were in the area to sell something off Facebook Marketplace and we were looking to get dinner as we were hungry. I decided on this place as the menu was unique in comparison to other Vietnamese restaurants and the interior looked gorgeous. I was a bit surprised with the location as it is next to a Fred Meyer. However, the inside whisks you away to a lovely restaurant that has the loveliest vibes. The inside is bright but not like blinding. The menu was really big but not in an excessive way! It seems they have all sorts of options for people. We got the Lang Viet Vermicelli Bowl and Bo Luc Lac / Shaking Tenderloin Beef with fried rice and it took a bit of time but not enough where I would find it to be a problem. Plus the food came out looking gorgeous and delicious. My boyfriend did wish there was a bit more meat for his Bo Luc Lac as the green bell peppers and onions were plentiful but not really the beef. I enjoyed my bowl too but again, even in the presentation there is a clear difference between the amount of meat and vegetables you get. I think if they were the balance the presentation a bit more then it wouldn't feel like we are getting cheated. The service here was decent, nothing memorable but it was professional. They didn't really come back to check on us and it wasn't really busy. Other than that, it was a good experience and we definitely want to come back to try their other dishes. read more

Lang Viet also did a great job with their interior decor and it makes you forget that you are in Washington. The service was very friendly. I ordered the Vietnamese yogurt drink which was tart, creamy, and delicious. We ordered the Bo La Lot and Banh Xeo. The Bo La Lot was not memorable. It was dry and lacked the smoky, grilled aroma that I am accustomed to. I would not recommend the Banh Xeo. Instead of being crispy/crunchy, it was soggy and flavorless. The menu is extensive I'll have to try them all. Food: We all enjoy our meal thoroughly. My beef stew was so delicious, that deep beef flavor with the carrots. The pieces of beef were succulent and they even had bonus pieces of tendon. The bread, it was baked to order warm and crispy. Absolutely divine. Service: there was only one server but he was quick and efficient. We ordered the banh canh and the fish cake was extremely sour. Fish cake only gets that sour when it is spoiled no seasoning can make it that sour. We didn't want to make a big deal about it and told our server it was spoiled. He apologized and said he'd let the kitchen know and then came out and gave us 3 shrimps to make up for it. Typically when you serve rotten or spoiled food to customers you comp that dish at the very least. Imagine if I ordered a burger and it had moldy cheese, you don't give the customer an extra set of pickles and call it a day, right? That alone will make us never recommend this place or come back. We didn't complain, still tipped and left with smiles on our faces but come on man. You get 3 rolls for $7, a nice appetizer. * Bánh Mì (Grilled Chicken Sandwich) - Only $9, and it's packed with flavor. The chili sauce takes it to another level if you like spicy. * Chicken Phở - Comforting and flavorful for $18. Generous portion too. * Grilled Chicken Noodle Salad - Around $19, fresh veggies with tasty grilled chicken, light but filling. My friend and I met up here for dinner. We chose this place because their menu was a bit different and more interesting than the usual Vietnamese menu, and their cocktails sounded good. We started off with the Mot Hai Ba Dzo, the cocktai with Hennessy and tamarind puree; it was yummy. I ordered the Khay Cuoa Lang Viet (vermicelli tray with the assorted meats) and my friend ordered the Canh Chua (sour soup). Both were sharing sizes, so we had leftovers. Prices were good for the amount you get. My dish was delicious. The meats were seasoned well. Lots of veggies. The rice paper were small, not the normal size we use for spring rolls, so it took a little more work to keep rolling these small rolls that you couldn't fit too much in. My friend also really liked her soup. We tried another cocktail, the Tram Phan Tram (100٪), which was also yummy. Cute restaurant with cute decor, and service was great. This spot recently opened (October 2023, I believe) and after a few weeks of smelling the delicious smells wafting from the front door as I went to Fred Meyer, I finally had a chance to try it. When my husband & I walked in, we were welcomed right away. The decor is great, tropical plants and Vietnamese decorations surround you. Lastly, our food was delicious. We came in at a weird mid-afternoon, so we only had appetizers. We shared the garlic-butter fried chicken wings and the appetizer combo. Everything was tasty. Worst experience ever and it really pains me to give this rating to a restaurant owned by my people. The decors were quite nice but the way the tables were placed was very tight. We were there yesterday and anticipated the foods could take a long time due to their opening week but almost 1 hour wait was quite unacceptable. The foods didn't come out at the right time we had 1 person finished their food first (after 30 mins wait), then 3 more came 15 mins later, then 1 mins later and the appetizer came out last when everyone already finished their foods. Lots of people left without ordering due to the ling wait. Also when we ordered, we asked for the sprout in 1 dish to be cooked (whichwouldtake 10 seconds) , the server told us they couldn't do that since the kitchen was too busy... All of the above would have been forgiven if the foods had been good but unfortunately, we were more disappointed. The mixed appetizers were oily and dry. All of the toppings in their Lang Viet broken rice dish were really bland (the saving grace was the fish sauce). Bun Mam was a nightmare as all we can taste was the annatto seeds oil (and technically, you are not supposed to put it in this soup). Bun Rieu had no "rieu" flavor. Bo Luc Lac just had a heavy taste of soy sauce. And they automatically charge 20% gratuity for a big group. I wouldn't mind if service was top-notch or the foods were amazing and neither happened so feel like we were robbed. I won't come back for sure! read more

It arrived in a very large bowl with fresh veggie accompaniments. It was piping hot!! Great flavor, lots of vermicelli, sweet potatoes and chicken. Very filling. I'm telling you this is the BEST, flavorful Vietnamese food I've had in such a long time-- they marinate their meat. Also the fish sauce is not diluted or watered down. They have their pickled carrots to a T. Got the lang viet combination rice place and their combo spring roll basket. I will 100% come back again. I wish I tried this place sooner. First of all, this servers need training, came in on a family Sunday with kids and wife let me regrade this is a place we had been going before until today was our last time, this review is more of a feed back for the owner(s) Your employees at front need better training I doubt anyone is going to want to eat there when as soon as you come into your restaurant you get greed by an unprofessional server who's literally very rude, knowing that there was not one single client in the restaurant and see my family and I walking in you would think they will have a better attitude than the one she gave us but mainly if you need to pick at your teeth and take your left over off your mouth please do it i the bathroom where clients can't see you that's just ignorant and mostly nasty to see, have some manners. too bad you lost a loyal Client that not only used to bring he's family there but all friends aswell. Popped in for lunch and it was super busy! Always a good sign honestly. We were seated pretty quickly and given an extensive menu. I had wanted the banh xeo but they didn't have it, so I opted for the banh mi with Vietnamese ham and it was super good. I am pretty picky with my banh mi and this bread was toasted perfectly, not too much so it was still soft, thick chunks of ham. I just wish that there were more pickled veggies and the cucumber had been cut thinner. My partner got the bun no hue and enjoyed it, she said it was one of the better ones she's had. I am so glad that this restaurant opened in my neighborhood, so I don't have to beat the horrible Seattle traffic just to enjoy some authentic Vietnamese dishes other than the typical pho and banh mi. This is the second time I've been here and they have yet to disappoint me. I don't know what's with this guy who gave the "1" star, who thought the food was "bland", when he actually took some decent pictures of the food he ordered. I think he just had a really bad experience with the service, possibly because they had just opened and were overwhelmed, which put him in a real bad mood and interpreted everything as bad, including the quality of food. The food was absolutely delicious, fresh and not skimpy. Both times I ordered the bun man because I love seafood, fermented condiments and thick broth, unlike the typical clear broth that comes with most Asian seafood soup noodles. The noodles were al dente! It comes with some pork belly which I typically avoid due to my phobia, but I decided to overcome my fear by giving it a try.. omg.. I didn't know pork belly can taste this good.. it was dense, chewy and caramelized. However, the second time I asked to replace it with beef, because I simply cannot get over my phobia. I also ordered the banh xeo with shrimp (more like prawns) because I've always loved this dish, and it became a party in my mouth full of fresh herbs, crispy pancake with coconut milk flavor and the nuoc cham as dressing. For both dishes, not only were the flavors on par with my finicky preferences, everything tasted like it was freshly picked, caught or prepared. I do have to say one thing, though, about Vietnamese cuisine. It's one of those ethnic foods that requires to be served immediately, with the soup piping hot, herbs fresh and fried foods crispy, that even after a short drive home, it's not quite the same. However, given the choice of dining alone in public or reheating the limp banh xeo in air fryer and soup in microwave at the privacy of my own abode, I choose the latter. It's obvious that the restaurant is well aware of this fact that they took great measures to address this issue by their packaging. Overall, I'm so glad that this restaurant opened where it is and will continue to patronize the community without fail. read more
