Had to give a deposit to get an appointment. No one answers phone left messages, got elevator music for 15 mins. Etc. Then on the day of the appointment I got a bill for $250 before the service even happened. Then called to inquire. They told me they did not know. That I should talk to her. She is an independent contractor. I said I dont have her phone number.Heard whispering in back yo tell me she hadcovid and was cancelling. Waited a month! I am a returning client for D'Ambrosio's - yesterday I met Kevin as my stylist. His personality is fun and joyful. His ability to do what I wanted done to my hair is a perfect 10! He hilighted and cut my hair and in the process gave me a big boost. My hair was waist length, fine but I have a lot of it. I chose this salon based on Yelp listing it as "affordable." The salon's website says a Senior Stylist charges $38 for a 45-minute haircut and $55 for an hour haircut, and that was what I expected to pay. My stylist was good. She listened to what I wanted, did a good job, and laughed at my jokes. The place was clean. The staff seems to get along. If the price had been even in the vague vicinity of what the website quotes, I'd have made my next appointment when I checked out. My hair is short. The whole thing took 45-miniutes. And my bill was $68 before taxes and tip. I guess that's "affordable" in LA or NYC but it seems pretty high for Albuquerque for a haircut (and nothing else). My complaint is as much with Yelp as it was with the salon. read more

A hair stylist, who was not even the one working on my hair, was rude and embarrassed me in salon. I left the salon in tears and had to call to make payment. I expected the manager to reach out to me, but never heard from him. This stylist thought it was appropriate to call me out and embarrass me because I was "too picky". This was my first time to this salon and first experience with Jazzmine. When I sat in her chair, I disclosed to her my OCD disorder centered around my hair and how I can particular because of my internal anxiety about my hair. It is not easy trusting a new stylist, especially when you have diagnosed anxiety. The way I was treated was insensitive and cruel. I will be sure to let my friends and patrons at my downtown business know that they should not give this salon their business. read more

I always schedule with Devonne and am very happy with the results each time. The first time I tried this place out, I had a deep conditioning treatment and a haircut. My hair was very soft and looked healthy after the treatment. After making this my regular salon, I finally felt comfortable enough to do full highlights. I scheduled an appointment a week ahead for a cut and color. I was very excited because this was a special treat for me to celebrate that I had lost 50 pounds. I got a call two days before my appointment to confirm, which I did. I showed up five minutes early for my appointment. The stylist who was in assured me that my stylist would be there shortly. Twenty minutes after the appointment the other stylist calls to find out where my stylist is and informs me that my stylist is out of town and the owner will call me. The owner called me from his home I'm assuming, and apologized that my stylist was stuck out of town but someone should have informed me, which no one did. He then said that no one could do my hair, except for maybe a cut. So disappointing that I was willing to drop a few hundred dollars on my hair and instead got my time wasted. Luckily, Ulta got me last minute. I will never go here again and I would suggest you try elsewhere. read more

The girl at the front counter didn't end up giving me the $5 off deal even after I checked in and showed her the coupon on my phone-at the tie I figured it was $49 because the small tube of style cream was $20, but then I saw later it was $14 and since "junior" stylists charge $33 (I was told on the phone when making the reservation) my bill should have been $42 and not the $49 (not including the $10 tip I gave)-so be sure to double check prices. That said, My stylist Camilla was great! Very professional and friendly and I loved my haircut and how she styled it! I have long wavy hair, so it's not the easiest to deal with. A very quaint hair salon with a solid service team. I was on my way to a meeting and had to get a quick hair cut. The receptionist didn't have any openings, but let me know that if their 12:00 didn't show up, they'd call me immediately. Sure enough, 12:05 rolled around and I was in the door. Charlotte gave me a great hair cut. She definitely understood what I wanted out of my hair and knew that with my thin hair, it would be best to learn how to style my hair. I've never not used a hair dryer. My hair is generally flat. She helped me understand how I could use pomade to still accentuate and achieve volume. Nonetheless, a great hair cut. Overall, D'Ambrosio had a great vibe and atmosphere to it. I'd recommend giving it a shot! read more

I came here in October and got a full color/cut before I had my baby. Loved the stylist and paid around $270 with tip. I've had to reschedule three times now for my color touch up. I came in for my appointment today and the receptionist apparently put me down for gray coverage retouch. (I'm 28, no grays and they pulled up my information with my last appt so they knew what color they were retouching etc.) the owner I'm assuming stated that his receptionist got it wrong and he didn't have time for my color only a cut since he had other clients behind me. I'd understand if I had been running late or made the appt online and scheduled wrong but this was their fault? I was so excited to have a day to myself after having a baby. So unprofessional and I'll be taking my business to someone who can accommodate for their mistakes. read more

I have never before asked for a refund from a salon before until my cut with Chris. He was a very nice guy, and maybe can give great cuts to other people, but my cut was awful and I didn't feel my input was taken seriously or that much attention or care was given to my style. The man tried to send me off with my hair still wet and I had to ask him to take the time to refine the cut after asking him to take the time to actually dry my hair. Even so, very little refining was actually done. I almost cried in the seat, and no mind was taken that I was clearly unhappy with my cut. Clue, folks- if your client doesn't smile, but rather frowns about the result of your styling, DO NOT send him or her away! Fix it. The lesson I learned? Friendliness is not substitute for skill. This is NOT a salon for curly hair. Look for a Deva certified stylist. There are a few in Albuquerque. And they don't charge as much as this salon. read more

I had a color appointment with Amanda yesterday- I'm from out of town, so my first time. I wanted partial highlights/balayage framing my face, and a toner to get out the warmth that happens with my already highlighted blonde hair. Gonna make this as short as possible- I emphasized that I wanted that warmth out- I'm a natural cool/ash blonde. Amanda seemed to understand everything. Well, I ended up with orange roots, and some orange streaks in the back. My blow dry was done with me not facing the mirror, so couldn't see my hair as it was being dried. I turned a couple times to try and look. Amanda apologized- something about the chair being broken. Odd, but okay. So the main thing I saw were the highlights she did in front, which looked pretty good. But I didn't realize all the orange until closer inspection when I got home. Here's the thing, the glaringly obvious thing- she knew! She could see all of that as she was drying my hair. And not a peep. Not one word about it. I sent them an email early yesterday afternoon about this, (had a 9am appointment) and guess what? No reply at all. No apology. No offering to have me back to fix it. Nothing. I wasted over 100 bucks, and did leave her a tip. So, now I have to find a colorist to fix this. And that means more money. At this point, they should issue me a refund. Horrible. read more

I have finally found my stylist and location. I had seen this place many times but never had the courage to walk-in (walk-ins are welcomed) or make an appointment. Well I finally did and was so happy not only with the staff but the decor. This place is decorated to make any woman feel comfortable but up scale. I could not take my eyes of all the detail that was taken to make it feel like you were in your own private salon. The staff was awesome, they made me feel like I was one of their girlfriends. Not only were they young and fun, my stylist really understood what I wanted. I got exactly what I wanted but she also added her own without taking away from what I wanted. I followed my stylist Andrea here from a different salon and have never regretted it. Although this salon is miles away from my home the fantastic results are worth the drive. Andrea does an amazing job every time. Wether I want to change the color, cut it drastically, or just get a trim she makes my hair look terrific.
