Stay away if you have a BMW! I had my car service here to get my valve cover gasket replaced on my BMW 335i and it was a nightmare. My engine malfunction light turned on and never ran the same after they worked on it. Missing bolts, the mechanic lied to me after I found a torx bolt on the floor that was not put back! The mechanic does not very good English and I doubt has proper training to work on bmw or any car! I've asked for a invoice work order receipt and the owner refuses to give me one saying they do not provide it because I only had labor done. This is against BAR policy! This is a new owner and they do not specialize in bmw! They are clueless and will ruin your car! The owner sounds friendly but after he takes your money he will treat you different. I will report this shop to the bureau of automotive repair for what they did to my car! read more

They seem like cool guys at first, obviously very knowledgeable about bmw's, but MAKE SURE you get some type of INVOICE or WRITTEN GUARANTEE of repair if the SAME PROBLEM OCCURS, which I regret I didn't request for before you get work done by these crooks! First of all, the negotiations were all verbal and Dovlet said it'll be $190 for 1.5 hrs of work plus the clips to fix my window that wouldn't go back up. I said cool sounds good went to lunch came back in LESS than an hour and walked in on Dovlet and his assistant PLAYING ON THEIR PHONES in their little office...I asked if it was done cuz I didn't get a call like he said he would, and they both look flustered and said "Ohh yea we just finished". That was already sketch to me like whatever ok I'll just pay the $190. When I ask if there is any type of paperwork about the work done I gotta sign he says, "Yea here sign this" and it was the little receipt that you sign for when you slide your debit card from a reader and THATS IT! NO INVOICE NO NOTHING! I said sooo if I have the same problem I can just come back and you'll fix it right? He said yea just come back.... ONE WEEK LATER. Rolled window all the way down and won't go back up! Called Dovlet, told him, he said "ohh now that might be the regulator that's gonna cost $480-$500" RIDICULOUS. I know Dovlet, the owner of "D&A Autobahn" for few years, when he was a technician in Peter Pan BMW and DINAN Performance. He always was wery accurate in his job. Always said what to do first and save me a lot of money. Now he has his own shop and this is only place to fix my BMW for now. Hi has latest computers for diagnistics and repair. We called D&A about my 2008 BMW cluster display which it had stopped working. Dovlet answered the phone and said that we can bring in the car the same day. We went to D&A since it is close to where we live. As soon as we arrived they hooked up the car to a computer to diagnose the issue and right away they knew what the issue was. Dovlet worked on the car and in minutes it was fixed. The price couldn't be more awesome and cheaper than anyone we contacted. BMW of Fremont quoted us $286 just to diagnose the problem and another place was similar in price. I use to always take my car to the BMW dealership but now I will take it to D&A. Dovlet is an honest man and explains what is wrong with your BMW. BMW had recommended repairs that was not needed such as the tensioner. Hello Everyone, I dont normally post, but this Garage deserves an excellent Review. So, I was selling my BMW M3 and a buyer had one of his BMW mechanic friends look at the car. Everything was exceptional on my car, but the BMW guy found a small leak in the DCT transmission. He said that it was leaking from the TOP (which means dropping the Tranny), and that it would cost 3.5k to 4k to fix. The Buyer, then was trying to lower this amount off of my asking price. I wanted a second opinion and found DnaAutobahn on yelp. I emailed Dovlet (Cool Head Guy) and he was quick to respond to my emails and gave me a nice email estimate based on the information I gave him. When I got to the shop and explained it better, however, he quoted me a higher price because my emails werent very clear with a TOP leak. He thought I was saying it was a SIDE OR BOTTOM LEAK (doesnt require dropping the tranny). Either way, he quoted me about $1800 or so for the labor and parts for a TOP leak. I left the car with him and told him to move forward. The next day, Dovlet called and let me know that the leak was actually a SIDE leak and that it did not require dropping the tranny. His estimate went down to only $1340!!! I was so excited that he was going to do it for even cheaper and he was very forthcoming with everything. When I came to pick up the car, he showed me the old parts that he took out and took time to explain exactly what he did. He also checked my brakes and reset the computer for FREE! Dovlet is respectful and a gentleman as well. I will be recommending his shop to all my BMW friends and will be returning. This shop is honest, efficient, reliable and has excellent customer Service! Just like everyone else, after the warranty and optional maintenance ran out in our x3 we were looking to save a little money. Unfortunately we first went with someone else, and he had none of the equipment or knowledge to work on our car, so we went searching again. At first I was skeptical about this place. I drive a 428i and that's like my baby. I felt that dealerships were over charging me and I heard a about this place through my friend who gets his 6 series done here so I checked them out on yelp and I said why not give it a shot. I can say that they did not disappoint they did all the maintenance needed on my car oil change and my front and rear brakes. They also gave me a very good price as well! Review based on purchasing car via craigslist - seller used this address/company. I KNOW BUYER BEWARE IS REAL. and i'm quite aware that when purchasing a car without any peace of mind knowing really what state it's in...is a risk! However, the person that i bought this car from - he was all about selling the car. i asked about the plates (none). told us it was an out of state vehicle. and didn't say anything else. said that once we transfer the title over, we'll receive the plates... upon going to the DMV, i ended up paying over $400 in fees. Look...i got a great deal on the car. it's one thing if it was just a "guy" on craigslist. but it's another thing when you claim to be a business and then fail to tell your customer that there will be backfees. that's just not good business. if you're going to conduct a successful one, you should be CLEAR about everything when asking. read more

I was referred to D&A Autobahn from an old friend of mine and after confirming with YELP, I decided to give him a call. I dropped by later that afternoon. After test driving my bmw, I was told brakes and control arm. Dovlet explained in plain English what was wrong with my car, how it happened and what my options are. He was very thorough and printed out a quote for me. I shopped around and took my car to couple more places, but nobody can beat the price and warranty (2 years or 24K miles. Review on Mini Cooper 2009 hardtop wheel bearing replacement. Car started making really loud metal scraping noise a week before I took it to D&A. The noise started coming right after I got off the highway and I was down in Santa Clara at the time so I naturally freaked out that this must be an ER situation (the noise was SUPER loud screeching metal scraping noise). Took it to the nearest shop and the guy took my front left wheel apart to take a look...he said it "might" be wheel bearing but this shop didn't specialize in BMW/mini so didn't have parts ready. He was super busy but made the time to take a quick look because I said this might be an emergency situation. The noise came and went...came and went. I'd hear the noise sometimes but it was not as loud or as bad or I wouldn't hear it. Random. I didn't drive the car for about a week since I didn't want to make the matter worse in case something was really broken. Decided to look for a shop that deals with BMW/mini near house. D&A is only a mile from where I live. Called Dovlet to explain my issue. He didn't make appointment for me but told me to call him back on Friday afternoon and he'd see if he can squeeze me in on a Saturday morning. I hadn't driven my car for about a week after the first incident and didn't notice any metal scraping noise on my way to D&A so I explained that to him. His response was something along the line of "well...I already ordered the parts for you so even if it's not wheel bearing issue, you will have a new wheel bearing" (TBH I don't even think he "ordered the parts for me" because he said nothing about ordering parts in our phone call or yelp message). I was a bit confused...like okay I get it but don't autoshops try to diagnose the problem for the customer? This is the EXACT message I sent him via Yelp before coming to the shop: Hi! I have a 2009 mini cooper and it started making this really loud metal dragging noise since last Sunday. Autoshop person took a quick look and said there might be an issue with wheel bearing in the front left tire. When is the earliest available date you can take a look and fix? Approximately how much would this cost? Thanks!. (key word: there MIGHT be a wheel bearing issue not there IS a wheel bearing issue). Aren't you supposed to try to diagnose the problem rather than basically just say "you said it might be a wheel bearing issue so we are going to fix wheel bearing even though I'm NOT sure if it's really the issue". I was so annoyed and dissatisfied with the way he talked, I came home and did some more research on wheel bearing issue and the sound I would hear etc. Watched endless Youtube videos and the noise I heard from my car sounded nothing like bad wheel bearing noise to me. Maybe I should've done more research before going to Dovlet but I assumed these people would diagnose, pinpoint the issue and fix (that's why ppl go to autoshop in the first place...otherwise I'd just do it myself right?!). Plus he had really good reviews on Yelp (learned to never trust Yelp). Dovlet just seemed to skip this whole part and was just looking to make couple hundred bucks on a Saturday morning. He called me to come get it after about an hour and a half later...I kind of hoped that he'd explain to me what the issue was since he took a look inside the wheel (OH I WAS WRONG). I should've just called him to stop working on my car (too late). I asked him "So did the wheel bearing look bad?"...he said "to be honest, I couldn't hear any noise...but can't be certain because you can really only tell when the car is on the road moving...". WELL I was super annoyed but IDK why I just didn't say anything then and there...I guess I was kind bummed out by this unexpected & unprofessional response...I was just like "OKAY...(trying to process wtf of a response is this). He could've taken it for a test drive or something...?! What kind of autoshop does work like this? So if I call in and say "hey my engine seems to have an issue (and I'm someone who has zero knowledge on cars)"...does he just replace my engine?! like really what the actual f**k? I should have taken this to the shop in Mountain View where I used to go before I moved to Union City. I do NOT recommend D&A to anybody...and all these 5 star reviews must be his friends or friends' friends or Yelp playing since he seems to be running Ad w/ Yelp. He didn't have good customer service...okay that's fine whatever but I expected him to be knowledgeable and give me concrete answers to my problems rather than IDK but IMMA FIX IT CUS YOU SAID TO FIX IT. Tried to go somewhere near house and I just ended up throwing away 400 bucks on something I probably didn't even need. Should've just went to my Mountain View shop where he will diagnose and explain thoroughly what my issue is, what he recommends and ask what I want to do. If I could give zero stars, I would. Initially the owner Dovlet seemed really helpful and told me that he would be able to repair the smell of burning oil/rubber in my car in a few hours or a day at the most. He ran a diagnostic while I was there and said nothing came up. Great! He was going to keep my car to do a routine tune up. He then called me within an hour of leaving and told me my struts were leaking and it'd be an additional $750 to repair. He also added that there was another leak somewhere else and it's going to be more as well. So my original estimate of $500 went up to $1,700. He said it was not "necessary" but optional. I told him to go ahead and repair the oil leak but hold off on the struts. This seemed to piss him off and he had an attitude after I told him no. So, I got my car the next day and still paid $1,200. He was NOT as friendly as the day I came in and gave me a receipt that says he guaranteed his work but if I take it anywhere else, it is void. A few days later my car started smelling like burnt oil AGAIN. I honestly got bad vibes from that place so I reluctantly took it to the BMW dealer. They immediately told me I had a huge leak in my oil pan and it was dripping all over and that was the cause of the smell. EVERYTHING he said and wrote that he repaired was a total lie!! It was ACTUALLY repaired by the dealers and has been fine since. *DO NOT TRUST THIS GUY!'* he is an absolute crook and completely shady!! He pretty much ripped me off for $1,200 and did nothing but waste my time and money. I have my family in my car so I do NOT appreciate someone putting us at risk for a car breakdown after I pay good money to keep it running properly! Take your business elsewhere to someone who is a decent mechanic and not out to just take your money!! read more

I have a 2006 325i that I've owned for almost 10 years and have been to several mechanics. Dovlet's customer service is in the top 3 for me. He's personable, genuine, reasonable, and helpful. I had a major repair in Sept 2014 and after running the diagnostic he was very forthcoming about what was a priority and what could be handled later. Broughi my car in for a steering angle sensor issue that I have been dealing with for the last 1.5 years. I brought it to other shops but they could not pinpoint the cause of it. I took my car previously to D&A Autobahn for oil change and brake fluid service and when I told him about this problem with the steering, he knew right away it was the steering angle assembly that is on the steering column. There were some initial problems with the calibration and setup that affected other modules which set my car in the shop longer than expected. However, I was give a loaner car and ultimately, my steering angle sensor problem was finally fixed. Highly recommended. read more
