Services great here ,thought I needed water pump , like everyone told me , so I drove it by on a Friday, they guy told me 65 to diagnose my car , or he can do water pump for 500 , I told him to just diagnose it for me to see, they told me to bring it Monday before 10 he can have my car ready that day , took it the following Monday , they diagnose me within a hour and a half it was my tension pulley, idol pulley, and a belt needed to b replaced, cheaper job than the 500 plus for water pump ,they had it done in like 3 hours maybe 4 , honest place , guys showed me my old parts he took out and everything and my new parts it came out to about 400 , and they changed my bulb I was having a hard Time replacing for my head light, , also took the 65 diagnostics fee off for getting the work there done , really good place ima always come back to them read more

I have been with West Coast Auto now for 20 years and 3 cars. The current one being such a headache that nobody else will work on it. Which is fine, because Sam and Tej are so honest, dependable, and reliable, that I won't go anywhere else. I pay extra for AAA so I have enough towing miles to get it to them. I left Fremont and moved to Oakland, and still took it to them. And now I'm in Livermore, and I had to have AAA come, and I had it towed to them. The amount of actual time they put into your car is a whole lot more than they charge you for. Look at Twitter, look at my other reviews here. Called on a Saturday afternoon when my van had a check engine light came on while driving on mission Blvd. My van was also dragging and I couldn't accelerate at all. Found this shop the closest. He asked to bring it in but said I may hv to wait till Monday. There were a few waiting in the front already but the owner gladly welcomed and asked us to wait for 5-10 mins. Within a couple of mins he brought obd monitor and he mentioned a couple of possibilities including change of oil. One of them could be a low oil pressure/low oil. He explained the options clearly. He suggested to change the oil first to see if the light goes away. After adding the oil he erased the code before I could restart. All within 15 mins though he was constantly attending to other customers who kept coming in. The best part is, he asked me to drive around a block first just to make sure everything is fine and before I can come back to pay for the oil fill. I was very worried about the weekend and the usual high traffic and long wait. Amazing and very timely service. Very welcoming. I am going again for a full service even though I hv to drive for 25 miles. Worth it!! read more

I brought in my 2017 Traverse about 5 weeks ago. It had check stability track & Traction control flashing on my dashboard. It wouldn't let me drive past 40mph without losing power. I had took it to a mechanic before this place and they recommended I replace the computer module. I disagreed because it was coming on and off maybe every other week or so. Then he said it was my battery, I ended replacing the battery on it. But sure enough the lights came back after a week on my dashboard. I'm a single mom and it was very frustrating and overwhelming. I struggled to pay for my battery. I decided to look local I live in Fremont and found this place with great reviews. I ended up putting my trust here desperate to get my car fixed. I walked in and talked to the man at the front desk ( Sam) on a Saturday & he told me to bring it in Monday morning wich I did. He later told me that he did a full inspection on my stability track & traction control and that he didn't see anything wrong with it but did notice that wheel sensors were extremely dirty with dry mud, he said he cleaned all of them off and my stability track & traction control light on dash had gone away and it was driving smooth. He recommended to take it home and drive to see if the lights on dash would come up. A week passed by and got back to Sam to let him know it hadn't gave me anymore trouble and that I was so thankful they were able to help me. I asked how much I owed him and he said he wasn't going to charge me anything and just wanted to make sure my car was running good and that if the lights came up again or gave me same trouble to bring it back. I want to thank this place, especially Sam for they're honesty and professional help. I came back to get my AC recharged last week & I will be coming back for any maintenance needed from now on. It's hard to trust people with your car but I would recommend this place because I trust the work Sam has provided for me. I have a Mitsibushi Eclipse, 2000 GT. Sam waived the diagnostic fee and really worked at giving me some discounts since it needed alot of work due to wear and tear: 1. Front brake pads and rotor 2. Motor Mount 3. Valve Cover gasket replaced It's not just the discounts, although that helped, but he really was honest and upfront. I didn't feel like he was trying to make a quick buck out of me like how sometime you feel like mechanics do. He was very professional, told me what the problems were and did not make me feel pressured in any way to make a decision. Overall, I was very happy with his work and professionalism. TJ (Tejinder) is the most honest, reliable, and trustworthy mechanic around. They will go above and beyond to make sure your car is well taken cared of. This place is a regular joint for Indians to take their cars to and I wish other folks would do as well. They have coupons in the mail and in pennysaver with which you could save $$s. They specialise in all types of cars japanese, american, and european. New car inspection is around $60, if you do the needed repairs from there, they will waive of the inspection charge. A1 service!! Took my car for an oil pump issue, and they fixed it at the lowest price. I was wondering about the parts they used, but I did a check with my friend mechanic who said the parts are not cheap ones. They were courteous, fixed what was needed and since I asked for a complete diagnostic, recommended other issues. BUT, THEY DID NOT OVERSELL! In fact, they asked me to first check if I am satisfied with the current work they did, and then come back for other issues. Their service is great, prompt and honest. Took my car here based on recommendations from people who've been here and all the good reviews and I'm happy I did. My check engine light came on and my car was jerking while accelerating. Dropped my car off to Sam, explained what was going on, and he told me he'd take a look at it. He got straight to the point and told me what was going on with my car and what needed to be fixed. I had brake master cylinder problem with my toyata prius, when I have consulted toyata showroom/service center for my problem they give me an estimation of 5200$ but I got fixed my problem for around 700$ from west coast auto repair. Apart from their price , I was highly impressed with their service and understanding level of the problem especially SAM who was main mechanic, I would refer him as Doctor rather than mechanic of a car. I would not recommend this auto repair for many reasons. First of all, I don't know who you all are who are giving this place 5 stars but you must all be indians,or cousins. I took my car here for service and he rang me up and did the opposite of what you all say on here. I paid $ 665 for a radiator to be put in...thats right 665 dollars. He made a long list of necessary car repairs for the future, estimating at about 1200 dollars.. No one wants an estimate of future repairs bill ,just fix whats needed,then he broke my car radio and never told me about it until I tried it while driving away. It never should have been turned on in the shop anyway! When I asked him about an estimate for the brakes he said I needed, mgr. replied "I don't give estimates" what- after you just charged my credit card $ 665.00 ? Then when I pressed for a quote he said " Why do we have to get off to a bad start" WTF....did I not pay you MONEY ???? I don't know about fair, honest, and trustworthy, maybe if your indian, if you're white you get charged 3 times the price. DON'T TAKE YOUR CAR TO THESE PEOPLE! My car needed a power steering pump replaced. They charged me the price of a brand new part but they actually installed an old used part which seemed like had been purchased from a junk yard or was rebuild. Part failed in less than a year. My mistake was that I had paid them cash and had no receipt. They clearly denied the bad job they had done on my car. I had paid them close to a $1000 for this job. Bunch of dishonest people. Not long after I started going to West Coast Auto in 2012, my then teenage son was going over a railroad crossing and cracked the oil tank on my 2000 Volkswagen Passat. Being a young driver and not knowing any better, he kept driving and therefore damaged the engine. I had the car towed to West Coast Auto and Sam, one of the owners, was honest to tell me that it was not worth it to fix the engine because of the car's low value. I posted the car on Craigslist to sell and was going to tow the car home but TJ, the other owner, told me to leave it at the shop because the leaking oil would damage my driveway. It took about a week or more to find a buyer and I remember clearly the day the buyer came to tow the car from West Coast Auto. After the car was gone, TJ told a mechanic to clean the oil off the pavement with sand. He did not charge me for the one week or so that the car was sitting there. That's when I realize that these are good people with compassion. At that time, I was a single, widowed mother with 2 boys and they decided to give me a break. Afterwards, my now grown sons and I go to West Coast Auto for all our car needs and they have always done a good job. Do not go here for an oil change. I brought my car here thinking it would've been a good idea to bring it in since I didn't have the time to change the oil myself. I picked up my car and he hands me the keys while telling me he didn't put full synthetic oil in it. I couldn't take him seriously, so I took my car straight home and just changed the oil again myself. After removing the drain bolt, I saw that they did not replace the crush washer and there were pieces of a rubber glove on the thread of the bolt.
