After meeting with Jay, I could tell he and his company took pride in their work. His supervisor Jiin and his crew did an excellent job painting the house. Last summer, they painted the entire exterior from a dirty dull beige to a lively white with black trim. They patched up all the holes/cracks in the stucco, power washed, and taped EVERYTHING! At the end of each day, they cleaned up and put away the tools so the house was still accessible. It's crazy how different the house looks compared to before. I'm just loving it! Then over the winter, Chris' team returned because I wanted my garage refinished. I had 70s paneling and broken/crumbling dry wall. Considering how much time I spend in my garage, I can't believe I lived with such an eye sore for so many years. I gave Chris the hard task of wanting smooth walls, and if you know...that's a whole lot of sanding. His team came through and delivered! I love the new paint color on the walls, and no longer despise my garage. Oh, and also want to mention that he also patched up a bunch of holes inside my house (from electrical work I had done) and matched the existing wall texture and paint. The previous painter 15 or so years ago had also done a goofy/lackluster job, which added to the complexities of our current paint project. Steve and Authority Painting were prompt and organized when meeting us for a quote/evaluation, and replying with the itemized estimate. Since materials for every house improvement project are backordered forever, we got on the schedule for a couple months out. Right on time for the estimated time frame to start, they were able to begin this week. Our buildings are a bit difficult as my in-laws, who owned the home prior, built TWO extra garages, so essentially it's like painting a large 2-story house, or more. There is also a ton of detail in the exterior, so this made masking/painting a real pain. Steve's team arrived on time, was courteous, and asked questions when they weren't sure about an aspect of our house. They left each day by cleaning and tidying their work area as well. The work itself was super-duper, and completed within the estimated amount of time. The paint went on very tidy and nicely coated and refreshed our house. It looks very high-quality and like it will last for years and years, which is awesome. Hard to explain unless you see it: the paint "pops" and the lines are very clean! Steve addressed all the concerns I had about the previous shabby state of the house and paint, and my concerns that he would need several coats, etc. His and his team's experience in dealing with a variety of problems proved a real asset, as they could anticipate and prevent problems that would have blindsided me if I chose to DIY (trust me, don't DIY exterior paint, get a professional!).

From Aug 22nd to Aug 24th, I consulted with three independent painters. All three independently…read moretold me that the method used to remove the wallpaper was not appropriate. They explained that applying primer over the remaining wallpaper backing paper can seal it and the adhesive underneath, making proper removal significantly more difficult. I was also told that, in the worst-case scenario, portions of the drywall may need to be removed and replaced if the backing paper and adhesive cannot be removed without damaging the drywall. To respond to the Color Pro Inc. owner's comment: He sent me a refund offer the next day (Aug. 20th) and acknowledged that I had paid a total of $20,000 under the interior and exterior contracts ($10,000 for each, respectively). The exterior painting had not started. He offered to refund $13,800 while retaining $6,200 for what he described as materials, labor, preparation, and drywall subcontractor costs for interior painting work. Regarding the interior work, the work performed by his crew was essentially to peel off the vinyl layer of the wallpaper and apply primer over the remaining backing paper and adhesive, which was again an inappropriate method for wallpaper removal. In addition, the drywall company owner who was on site on the morning of Aug. 19th told me that the walls were not ready for retexturing. The proposed refund was conditioned on my signing a written settlement agreement releasing all claims arising from the project and termination of the agreements. I have retained the written correspondence documenting this offer. Since the matter is currently under review through my legal service, I am not planning to disclose the email itself. In addition, although the house is large, the interior painting contract covers only the walls and approximately 20% of the ceilings. There are no particularly tall walls except in the stairway area. I can provide detailed measurements later to clarify the actual scope of the interior painting work if needed.

At a young age was given a great opportunity and at a entry level position with little knowledge and close to no experience in the painting industry at all became a part of a company and aside the great perks the job offered Eric Dokey my boss, was more than that. I can say from many years of working for D & D Painting and knowing Eric that he and his painting skills are professional and he by nature gives more than he gets in return. I have known Eric for 10 years plus and if i were to give him a call in need of or looking for work, he would give me work if he has it. The customer is always right. Everyone has problems, some more than other, and to honest i have bent over backwards for customers! Sadly some customers cant be pleased and you can only do your best. If you want a great job and guaranteed work for more than two years? Eric Dokey will make it happen! I see a glass thats half full...not half empty. I heard about D & D Painting from a friend. Our house was in need of some interior paint work. I did my best to get the rooms ready, but Eric and his team were great about working around all of our household furnishings,etc. We had multiple colors on walls and several rooms along with trim, doors, and window sills. I was very pleased with the outcome and my wife now has decided to buy new furniture to go with her new freshly painted walls in the master bedroom. My garage door got tagged with graffiti called local Gov. - no help. called insurance (deduction) to high and would raise the premium. Looked for local painters and found D&D on Yelp. Went to web site and requested a quote.
