It has been a month since I have tried to get Dennis to respond and to live up to his guarantee he has continually failed and has not showed up for appointments to resolve the improperly installed HVAC system. He has continuously stalled responding to my request. I have sent him photographs ,phone calls ,text message and emails with only minimal response. I am reaching out to warn possible customers to the lack of quality and failure to live up to any D&D warranty or Promise made to resolve any problems with their work performance. We had D&D refrigeration replace our forced air heating and air-conditioning system. I'm so happy I chose them. Here's why: 1) The price was reasonable. Before I made an appointment with D & D, I had another company provide a bid. Their price was substantially more than D & D for comparable equipment. When Dennis, the owner, met with me for an inspection, he was professional, patient nice and had a great sense of humor. During our conversation he explained that his father had previously owned the company and that he, Dennis, have been working with his father since he was in high school. 2) The installation was professional. Drop cloths were placed in all walk way areas. Before the installation started I was given the instruction book for the wireless T-Stat. Because I am an "instruction book nut," I read it twice while the installation was taking place. At the completion of the installation, I was given a "walk-through" where the operation of the system was explained in detail. The wireless T-Stat operation was also discussed so that the installers could be sure that I understood how it worked. 3) I was also provided with a half a dozen furnace filters. They said they wanted to be sure I replaced the furnace filter every 90-120 days and that I had the proper size. 4) I felt that D & D really cared about me--and it was not simply another sale. I hired D & D Refrigeration Inc to install a new heating and air conditioning unit in my newly purchased home. However, I had a very unpleasant experience. Valuables were stolen from my home during the completion of the installation. Dennis Huber, the company owner, referred me to Mid City's Electric Inc and Nelson Drywall Patch-N-Match as contractors. I reported the theft to the Carson Sheriff Department. Ironically, my home became a crime scene. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I plan to escalate this unresolved matter to the Attorney General's Office and California Small Claims Court. read more

I called D&D Refrigeration after having had a really bad experience a while ago with a large company with nice trucks, an easy phone number to remember, some insufficiently trained technicians, and a stupid 240 dollar per year "members club" that you're pressured to join. Wow what a difference ! The D & D service tech with many years of experience, Todd, came out, checked my HVAC system and replaced an obviously faulty thermostat and the capacitor. Straight forward. Congenial. No attempts at upselling or pressure to join their "club". They don't have one. They just provide competent friendly service and a fair price to everyone. I would highly recommend D&D! I had contacted another repair place that had a 4.5 star rating on Home Advisor and after they changed their appointment time with me twice I reached out to D&D. They showed up on time as promised. Todd the repairman was professional and honest and kept me informed of what needed to happen and what the costs would be. We recently got done installing our second air conditioning unit with D&D, and couldn't be more pleased. The first one was in our townhouse, and they were so great, that we called them up again when we bought a house. One of the technicians commented that our house was one of the most difficult installs they have done, and still - the price was great considering the magnitude of work. From the beginning, they had all sorts of suggestions (including adding insulation to the roof where there is no attic, and redoing the insulation in the attic,) to help our AC run more efficiently. Throughout the process, communication was great while they coordinated with the electrician to run the electrical supply to the right location, and especially the roofer on scheduling - so they could redo the ducting while the roof was off. They also fixed the code issues and our undersized ducting - which will also help when we have to start using the heater. And they are working with the city on permitting in the middle of Covid-19 delays. We couldn't be more pleased with our experiences with this company! read more

I highly recommend D & D Refrigeration because it is an excellent, efficiently run company and an authorized Carrier dealer. The owner, Dennis, gave the estimate. It was straight forward and included the best equipment for our needs at an excellent price. He didn't try to sell the most expensive system because he said it wasn't necessary with our mild California weather. He was up front, didn't play games or use scare tactics to get the job. I appreciated his honest approach to doing business and decided to hire them to replace our old furnace, coils and compressor. When Duck and Curtis arrived to install the equipment, they were so pleasant they immediately put me at ease. These two gentlemen were professional, very knowledgeable, eager to please and easy to work with. They took great pains with everything, even the placement of the compressor in a tight area, asking for my approval before securing it. They took initiative when correcting faults from the original installation and came up with creative changes when installing the new equipment. They thoroughly tested the system to make sure it was running perfectly and answered all my questions before they left. The job went very smoothly, they hauled away the old equipment and thoroughly cleaned up. Forgot to mention that Bryan, the office manager, was very accommodating when I asked if my painter could come by after the old furnace was removed in order to paint the area beneath and behind it before the new furnace was installed. Even though they had to wait a bit for the paint to dry, Duck and Curtis worked it out and all went well. How nice was that! We had problems with our home furnace on and off for years. Every time we contacted a repairman, we got the song and dance about the $10k+ unit that would fix everything. Finally we got connected with D&D. Todd came out at the agreed time, sized up the problem quickly and gave us some realistic alternatives and costs.
