A glass of wine in a relaxed atmosphere!
    Josh W.

Surprised to see a total beer geek reviewing another winery? What can I say, a geek can't live on brew alone, plus I wanted to go for my lady as well, and the place is dog-friendly so our pup could come too. Glad we went too because we were rather impressed with everything; the atmosphere, the service, and most importantly the wines. The place itself is a bit small but cozy with a good amount of indoor and outdoor seating. Since we had our dog, we sat outside on their patio. It was nice and cool since it had a roof overhead. I walked inside to get a menu to check out what all they offered. They had lots of options, and not just wine! They have loads of food options, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages too. The employee I spoke to, Danielle, was very friendly and told me about it all. After conferring with my lady, we opted for a wine tasting, choosing six wines for $5, and $1 for any additional. We chose 8 total; pinot grigio, sauvignon blanc, riesling, sangiovese, cabernet franc, Crooked House red blend, and cabernet sauvignon. The whites were pretty good, though we thought the pinot grigio was a bit sweet. The reds were all really good, especially the cab franc, Crooked Red, and cab sauv. Afterwards, we opted for a glass of sangiovese and Crooked Red, and a taste of the Blue (port wine made with blueberries, $2). We were both super impressed by the Blue. Before we left, we scored a few bottles; one cab franc ($14), one cab sauv ($14), and one Blue ($18). This was definitely a good stop and wines are well worth it. Plus all three of us felt really relaxed there because the atmosphere was so nice. I'd absolutely recommend this for a wine destination.

With sample glasses placed on that wine's name on the tray, it was easy to know exactly which wine was which. What an ingenious idea!

Great local Norwalk winery and a fun little atmosphere for a small town wine joint. Really happy we could drop in :)

Great wine as always. I really enjoy their Merlot. I also like the hillbilly tea and many others. Always an enjoyable stop.

The outdoor patio is great for COVID dinning. Make sure make a reservation. Often have live music on the weekends. Keep in mind they are closed during the winter. Food - Chef Jamie is highly skilled. Never had anything that has not been good. Highly recommend any of the daily specials. They also have seasonal specials. This trip we had the olive and tomato bruschetta and the salmon special. Wine - best local wine in the region. Keep in mind the wines are mostly on the dry side. Jamie also hand selects imports from around the world. They also sell beer and other drinks. The bruschetta was a great mix of texture and flair. Sweet tomatoes, perfectly grilled baguette, salty olives, and savory blue cheese. Amazing. The salmon was very good. It had brussel sprouts cooked in an Apple compote. Very nice contrast of sweet and savory. Fish was perfectly cooked. Only negative was the potatoes were slightly over cooked. Pro Tip - ask for Julie. The best server.

They have lights and signage to let you know you're at the right house. They even have a small vineyard growing in the backyard.. Upon entering the door to the winery, you will find yourself in a stairwell with stairs going down to the basement. Once you're in the basement you will immediately forget you are in a basement. It is quite a spacious and comfortable area with lots of tables and couches, a fireplace, a bar, and a bathroom. There's even a section where they make the wine in steel barrels. It's very cozy, charming, friendly and clean. The host/owners are extremely friendly. It seems that the owner's family is from Northern Italy and we enjoyed talking to them. The Wine itself far exceeded my expectations. We tasted three reds plus the Chardonnay, and we enjoyed all of it. The blueprint red blend was my favorite followed by the Chardonnay. I'm a bit of a Wine snob and I typically don't like Ohio wine. However, I was pleasantly surprised...okay...if we're being honest...actually shocked...that all the wine we tasted was excellent. I will definitely be telling all my friends and family about La Famiglia winery!

The tasting options allowed you to either choose a flight or pay $1.50 per tasting, and we opted for the latter. While their selection of dry reds was limited, the Adonia Berry caught my attention. A medium dry wine, it tasted like biting into a peanut butter and jelly sandwich--absolutely delicious. We couldn't resist walking away with two bottles of the Retriever Red Apple Blend. With our daughter @morganmmiller being a golden retriever lover, we knew she'd appreciate the bottle just as much as we did. Overall, it was a wonderful experience at this winery. Cheers to a great visit!

One sweet, which I don't care for sweet wines, the second, which I chose was lacking flavor. No body to the wine. Very disappointing. My wife tried 2 whites, she didn't care for either. They did not have a chardonnay or anything close. The traditional cheese tray was obviously pre- cubed cheeses, some plain soda crackers and a half a peach. I asked about getting a half order or the "gourmet " cheese tray but the server said they don't offer it because everything is pre-proportioned, which leads me to believe it's from Costco or the like. All in all pretty disappointing. Ww love stopping at wineries but unless friends want to go, ill avoid this one. We have frequented the orchard store for decades but even that has gotten so expensive we have cut back.
