Started off the chili and after it arrived I realized there was a chalkboard w daily specials and they had a shrimp bisque I definitely would've gotten but the chili was great. Fries were excellent, my wife's onion rings she said were a little greasy. Rudy's has a great atmosphere, seating is limited, if you're coming with kids, go early, it is a bar. Four of us walked in on a beautiful Friday night and expected a long wait as it was very busy. Our server noticed us immediately upon our arrival and offered a small high top if we could wait a bit. She immediately cleared and cleaned and had us seated within 5 minutes. Food was great. A couple of fish dinners, wings, and a breakfast burger. All the food was good, and we even ordered wings to go. Had enough varied beers, sours, and ciders that everyone was satisfied. Prices were low for a tourist spot. The bathrooms were 5 stars. Cleanest, least odiferous ones I've ever seen in a tourist area. Well done, especially for a very busy, very crowded bar. read more

We really like this place! It is definitely a "locals" hangout, it always seems like most of the customers and employees know each other, but even though we are not regulars, we have never not felt welcome! It is a warm and inviting atmosphere. You can sit at the bar, high top tables, regular tables, or on the patio out back. I really like the wings here. They are thick, meaty, and have a wide variety of sauces. Personally, I like the dry rub. It's not a huge menu, and it's typical bar food, but it always tastes fresh. They also have some seafood entrées mixed in, appropriate because of the proximity to Lake Erie. I would not recommend a cheese quesadilla. It was a strange cheese/salsa/vegetable mix, not what I was expecting. Rudy's is a great place to grab a quick bite, meet up with friends, or watch a game. We were in town so we decided to have a couple of beers and grab some lunch. It was pretty busy so no tables were available so we sat at the bar. Seemed to be a pretty popular place with the locals and I understand why after having the food. I had the Buffalo chicken wrap and fries and my friends had a few orders of wings. We also ordered the cheese curds which were amazing. My only regret is not ordering a burger because I feel like they make a great one based off of everything else I had. The food is good here. Not great....but good. The mix between purveyors frozen and the burgers......well....it it what it is. What we like is good service. To have a server say, "Get used to it" didn't fly with us. Only two employees for an entire full restaurant when they knew they would be busy means " greedy." We asked for more drinks. We had only ordered one. We went up to the bar and STILL couldn't get service. Come on, you know how to staff in the summer. Haven't been back since. Maybe carryout. Used to love the burgers here but had to come in to say that the bun on my burger today was about as bad as a burger bun could be. They used to throw them on the grill for a second, which would've helped this quasi brioche bun a ton. When I return, I'll ask if they're still using this bun. After a long day of kayaking the Vermilion River, this place hit the spot. Yes, it does have a "divey" atmosphere, but don't let that stop you...the food is pretty good and the beer is cold! A co-worker of mine swears by their burgers, so we decided to give them a try. The family started off with an order of wings, traditional hot buffalo style. The wings were piping hot, crispy and had a really nice buffalo flavor with good "heat". Wings were served with a tangy blue cheese dressing for dipping. For our meals, we all had burgers. My wife and I did our usual half-and-half plate share...she ordered the truffle burger and I had the sirano burger. Both were made of good quality meat and were cooked to a perfect medium temperature. The sirano (with all its spicy goodness) was the better of the two...lots of flavor! Rudy's fries were crispy and delicious. Wash it all down with a few cold beers from their tap (a reasonable selection for a small place) and you have a rock solid meal right there. read more

My first visit here was during Third Thursday and it was packed but we had an awesome waitress (Carla) who gave us great service. This was the only restaurant that we were able to find a table to sit at and order food during the festival. It was crazy busy and packed with people and Carla never once forgot about us! I ordered wings with two different sauces; Asian Persuasian and Cajun Garlic Parmesan. The Garlic Parmesan flavoring is outstanding! My boyfriend ordered the Crab Cake Wrap and we were told they make their crab cakes in house (always a plus to hear). He loved the wrap!
