Picked a random spot for dinner meeting some friends in Vermilion and the Old Prague is the real deal!! Wonderful outdoor seating for summer and fall. A little dingy inside. We had quick service and the server gave us great recommendations and insight. We ordered the kraut pierogies, kielbasa and potato pancake appetizers. The kielbasa was to die for!! I had the roast pork dinner and my husband the roasted duck. Easily his favorite duck he's ever had. The spaetzle and dumplings were great. Really good sauerkraut that was fresh. We had a 1.5 year old eating with us and he cleared like 3 small plates of spaetzle and a bunch of kielbasa. That's high praise.

Great place with an outdoor patio and live music. Phenomenal service with a smile, upbeat atmosphere and food is yummy! Any schnitzel had my name on it. Good place to end the night

We came in February 1, 2025 with a large group including children. They were open on this day for the ice carving festival, check if they are open before you come. The bartender/server/waiter was going above and beyond. I have been to a lot of Central/Eastern European restaurants and the food here was top notch. Please remember they only take cash.

Fast friendly service. The sauerkraut balls were delicious. We also ordered the special of the day and it was fantastic!

This restaurant is in my hometown yet I had somehow never been there in all of my 41 years. On a road trip I thought it'd be fun to take my in-laws since my MIL is Czech. I vibe is fun and lively and it appears they have live music regularly which is nice. The food however leaves much to be desired. The chicken paperkash is bland and boring but simple. The spatzel according to my MIL is good but she was very disappointed that it wasn't served with applesauce. Service was fine but the drinks are grossly overpriced. Stop in if you're looking for a fun time but not if you're looking for a heat or unique meal.

Sad to give such a bad review but I need to share my experience. We were visiting from out of state and drove 45 mins from Cleveland just to have czech food. When we arrived, the menu was much smaller than what's on their website, no goulash and no dumplings (both of which I was really looking forward to), no kids meals or smaller portions. My husband got the schnitzel and we asked if it came with gravy (because we saw it in other pics and didn't want it). We were told it came on the side, but when the bill came; we were charged for it. Since there was no kids meal, the recommendation was an appetizer like fried cheese, I asked for broccoli instead of fries and the only option was to pay extra for a side of it. My chicken paprikash was cold, as was the side of broccoli. We were told the reason for the small menu was they were very short staffed and their goulash didn't sell much in the past, but for me it's a staple czech meal and to have the food cold for what they did offer was a disappointment.

We had a good meal here. Service was good though understaffed. They did their best. This is not a fancy place but food was really good.

Amazing food combined with incredible live music made the drive from Oberlin during family weekend well worth it.

We fully endorse the dress code and expect other fine dining establishments to embrace: Gentlemen, Jackets Please "Recent phone call: She then asked if we ever have problems with customers and the dress code. I told her about a young lady who came in wearing flip-flops accompanied by her parents. We also felt her jean skirt and a tank top were inappropriate in our indoor dining room and disrespectful to our other diners. When I confronted her about her casual attires she began to cry and explained that it was her parents wedding anniversary. I relented and allowed them to sit in the dining room. I explained to the PD writer that occasionally circumstances dictate that we give the benefit of the doubt to avoid an embarrassing confrontation." We have excellent memories of Dayton and Cincinnati dining history which offered more than several fine dining experiences. We deplore the current practice of casualness and the proliferation of Sports Bars. We have delighted in several evenings of dining at CHEZ Francois - Vermilion. Most were more like gastropubs. We desired something a little more upscale. We decided on Bay Harbor. We had no idea it was IN Cedar Point. I got mildly frustrated but a parking attendant assured us that we would be comped for the parking cost so I settled down some. We had reservations by the outside railing to view the sunset during dinner. The sunset is obscured by trees so that wasn't amazing but the weather was perfect so it wasn't too much of an issue. We're generally indecisive people when it comes to the food. It all sounded appetizing so my wife asked our server about her favorite dishes. Through that conversation and the discussions that followed, we got to know our server a little bit. We shared with her how we met (working together in a restaurant). Her husband also works at Bay Harbor. We shared stories about our spouses that were humorous and we got to know one another a little bit more. Cassie became very personable during these conversations and it really made our night a little more enjoyable! She was the sweetest server! The food was great! The Bang bang shrimp appetizer was delicious. I had a red snapper that was the special for the evening. It was very good. My wife wanted to try the lobster bisque. I understand why it's award winning! My bride of 27 years had the shrimp and scallop linguini. I tasted it. It was pretty tasty. But honestly, the best part of the whole experience was our fantastic service. Thank you, Cassie!!!

Our servers and trainee were polite, but the bar drinks and food were inexcusable for a pricey dinner service. Gordon Ramsay would've been screaming. 1) Everything took forever to come out. It was 2 hours from being seated to being served entrees. We had a large group (18), but the restaurant was not busy at the time we were eating, with only a handful of other tables occupied. Our servers claimed that the bartender and kitchen staff were both new, but I have no way to verify that. 2) My wife and I ordered the vegetarian dishes, which turned out to both be completely absurd. $40 for "Mushroom Risotto" that had either been cooked without any sauce whatsoever or thoroughly mummified under a heat lamp while the other dishes were being prepared. It was crispy! Risotto is, by every acceptable measure, not crispy. The veggie burger was somehow more depressing, but was edible - in the same way that Soylent is food. A pale, dry, flavorless rice patty, with lettuce and a slice of tomato, on a decidedly *not* Brioche bun. Just use an Impossible burger or Beyond burger, at least those are expensive enough to justify the cost of the dish! 3) My bar drinks, both Lemon Drops (as listed on the menu!) came in different styles of glasses and were very different pours. The 4 kids at our tables that ordered Shirley Temples received what could be charitably called "a variety of recipes" with some having cherries, some not, and immediately sparking arguments between them. Overall, the service could not save what turned out to be a disappointment for our entire extended family. Flee, and do not return.

As a Pescetarian in Northeast Ohio I have meaning to try Jolly Roger Seafood House for a while,…read morewell I finally got there and the big question is why I waited so long. Jolly Roger is located in Port Clinton right on Lake Erie; I was expecting something ordinary or just a bit dated and boy was I wrong. The building is very modern and clean from the outside, white and angular with big windows. Inside white walls, rough hewn wooden tables and just the right amount of decor makes for a modern seaside feel, casual but also classy. The setup is fast casual, you order and pay up front at the counter, get a number for your table and then get your own drink at the service station. The menu is understandably very heavy on fish and seafood with a couple of other items. While there are the expected fried fish meals, but also oysters, shrimp and salmon, salads and even some tacos. The reason I came was of course for the fried fish, I decided on the Perch and Chips, which is $18. I grabbed some water, hot sauce and lemon and settled onto a table. The meal was brought out fresh and hot by a food runner in a couple of minutes. The meal was 4 nice sized perch fillets on top of a generous portion of fresh waffle fried potatoes with a side of tarter sauce. The fish were excellent, fresh and perfectly fried with a nice crispy cornmeal crust around the delicately fish; moist with a slight sweetness and perfect texture. The waffle fries were exceptional, fried to a crisp outside and tasty inside; usually fries at a seafood place are an afterthought, here they actually are well worth getting and eating. Even the tarter sauce was very nice, nothing special but creamy with a nice pickle contrast to add a little extra flavor. Usually when I see a place that has been around this long and has great reviews I am a bit let down when I give them a try; Jolly Rogers Seafood House exceeded my expectations in almost every way. Although set up as a fast casual restaurant with a typical fried seafood menu, the actual restaurant feels more upscale and modern with a great inside and a very nice patio looking out onto Lake Erie. The food is not cutting edge, but it is expertly prepared and delicious. Prices are moderate with large portions for your money. Some of the best fried perch and waffle fries I have had. I will be back any time I am in the area, a very high recommendation as long as you are looking for fish or seafood, go and enjoy.

I did make a few notes on the day of, so hopefully those suffice! So about 12 others from my foodie group and I dined at Salmon Dave's for a group lunch in April of 2025. The interior is cute and decorated like a fish joint off the coast of Florida. We had made reservations beforehand, but it was clear they were still understaffed. It took a bit too long for our food to arrive. I think we waited about 45 minutes for our mains to arrive. We all munched on the free bread while we waited. The bread was okay - standard white crusty bread. The service was also pretty good. Our waters were always kept pretty full but our waitress wasn't much for conversation - just kept things pretty serious. I ordered fried fish for my main (I am pretty picky about how I like fish prepared). My fried fish dinner was massive! I have never seen a fried fish as big as the one I had at Salmon Dave's. It was good too which is why my review is 4 stars instead of 3 or 3.5 stars. The coleslaw is a liquidy mush of nothing - don't bother getting this. In short, I paid about $40 after tax and tip for my fish fry lunch and while it took a while to arrive and I wasn't impressed with the sides, my friends and I had a good time! I was very impressed with the fish too!
