Picked a random spot for dinner meeting some friends in Vermilion and the Old Prague is the real deal!! Wonderful outdoor seating for summer and fall. A little dingy inside. We had quick service and the server gave us great recommendations and insight. We ordered the kraut pierogies, kielbasa and potato pancake appetizers. The kielbasa was to die for!! I had the roast pork dinner and my husband the roasted duck. Easily his favorite duck he's ever had. The spaetzle and dumplings were great. Really good sauerkraut that was fresh. We had a 1.5 year old eating with us and he cleared like 3 small plates of spaetzle and a bunch of kielbasa. That's high praise.

Great place with an outdoor patio and live music. Phenomenal service with a smile, upbeat atmosphere and food is yummy! Any schnitzel had my name on it. Good place to end the night

We came in February 1, 2025 with a large group including children. They were open on this day for the ice carving festival, check if they are open before you come. The bartender/server/waiter was going above and beyond. I have been to a lot of Central/Eastern European restaurants and the food here was top notch. Please remember they only take cash.

Fast friendly service. The sauerkraut balls were delicious. We also ordered the special of the day and it was fantastic!

This restaurant is in my hometown yet I had somehow never been there in all of my 41 years. On a road trip I thought it'd be fun to take my in-laws since my MIL is Czech. I vibe is fun and lively and it appears they have live music regularly which is nice. The food however leaves much to be desired. The chicken paperkash is bland and boring but simple. The spatzel according to my MIL is good but she was very disappointed that it wasn't served with applesauce. Service was fine but the drinks are grossly overpriced. Stop in if you're looking for a fun time but not if you're looking for a heat or unique meal.

Sad to give such a bad review but I need to share my experience. We were visiting from out of state and drove 45 mins from Cleveland just to have czech food. When we arrived, the menu was much smaller than what's on their website, no goulash and no dumplings (both of which I was really looking forward to), no kids meals or smaller portions. My husband got the schnitzel and we asked if it came with gravy (because we saw it in other pics and didn't want it). We were told it came on the side, but when the bill came; we were charged for it. Since there was no kids meal, the recommendation was an appetizer like fried cheese, I asked for broccoli instead of fries and the only option was to pay extra for a side of it. My chicken paprikash was cold, as was the side of broccoli. We were told the reason for the small menu was they were very short staffed and their goulash didn't sell much in the past, but for me it's a staple czech meal and to have the food cold for what they did offer was a disappointment.

We had a good meal here. Service was good though understaffed. They did their best. This is not a fancy place but food was really good.

From looking at the menu, walking into to pick it up, eating it at home, this place did not disappoint. Let me start with the menu, everything looked and sounded amazing. Ordered some traditional pork schnitzel, a kase schnitzel and a wurst plate. Next, when I pulled up, pretty unassuming but loved the look of their enclosed patio. Once I walked in though, the ambiance, decor, smells...wow!!! Looking forward to eating in at some point and enjoying the gorgeous patio room! Now let's get to the good part, my drive home was filled with absolute mouth watering smells, my family was amazed I made it home without stopping and doing some taste testing. Everything was spectacular. I do need to specifically point out the kase schnitzel was the greatest meal by far, the creaminess, light hint of lemon... cooked to perfection. If this app would let me give more than 5 stars I'd just keep hitting them until another schnitzel showed up in front of me. Great restaurant. (The waitress who helped us when we got there also deserves 5 stars, super helpful, friendly and definitely had a great vibe)

The entrance was painted with a colorful mural, which took us into the bar. The restaurant had tables and booths but was a small area. We were lucky to have reservations because we were told at the bar there was a wait for seating. We did get seated immediately and were greeted by Sara M and she quickly brought our drinks. We tried the chicken paprikas, which had a lot of sour cream and dumplings that were thick and doughy. The yuengling bettered haddock dinner with fries was cooked perfect. The lobster bisque was served hot and was thick with lots of pieces of seafood. We ended with a piece of cherry pie that was served ice cold and was not homemade. It's really not that far I'm being dramatic it's like max 13 min from the center by car. Anyways it is literally the cutest place inside. Dimly lit by table-side antique sconces and Christmas lights in the bar with wooden booths and chairs. Very eclectic. This felt like a special place the minute we set foot inside. The beer menu is something else you not only wouldn't find in a typical restaurant but even for a beer place. Very Belgian German vibes. I didn't even get to the best part yet believe it or not. They are very vegan and vegetarian friendly. So many things on their menu can be made vegetarian or vegan. Like things I've never seen before like TOFU SCHNITZEL. Holy shit. But then you think about it and are like why have I never seen this before? It can't be that hard? They also have a meat free version of the allegedly local favorite sauerkraut balls which was an absolute must. There were just so many things we wanted it was hard to choose. Other than the balls, I was very interested in the vegan sausage and the Reuben (on literal potato pancakes) that can be made vegetarian or vegan without the corned beef but ultimately could not pass on the tofu schnitzel which came with a starchy side (I went with the spätzle obviously) and a veggie side (I went with the kraut.. obviously) and GF the Reuben with a side of fries. To take home for later, the spätzle appetizer and the pretzel. We also ordered beers, needless to say. I tried a cider that was incredible. One of the best ciders I've ever had. Everything was incredible. The kraut balls, actually spicy kraut balls per their menu, were so good. I was bummed there were only 4. I feel like there should be at least 6. I'll pay more. The dipping sauces were really good too. One was a curry ketchup type thing and the other was a cheese that was fabulous. Tofu schnitzel was breaded to perfection with a very crispy exterior. They used a nice, thic slab of tofu. Given the schnitzelness of it they probably could have gotten away with something thinner. They had a mushroom gravy which was nice for the vegans. The kraut was typical kraut. The spätzle slapped. I love those little pasta dumpling dough pieces. What a nice texture. GF's fries were salted perfectly and crisp. The pretzel was softer and lighter than usual. The cheese spätzle was better than sex, earth shattering ecstasy. So yeah it was pretty good.

Ordered 'build your own Schnitzel'. Picked the veal, sauerkraut and mashed potatoes. Had the veal topped with 'Oscar', crabmeat and asparagus. Delicious...veal was crispy and tender, sauerkraut had the right amount of bite and mashed potatoes were solid enough. Topped with paprika gravy. Food was very good. All in all a really good place. Food was great, service was fine, maybe a little cold and not particularly friendly, but good enough. I am new to neighborhood but this is the kind of place I could see myself coming to often.
