Cons Truck was only 1/4 full of gas so I had to guess how much gas to put in or risk overpaying in gas, wish it was full when I got it so I could just fill it up on my way back. But customer service explained to me to not bring it back more or less than 1/4 cuz they don't reimburse for gas and there's a fee if it's less than 1/4. When my dad returned the vehicle, the woman working the counter refused to even look at the paperwork, told him "that's not my problem," when he described the issues and wouldn't give me her name. When he started taking photos of the RV to document the return, she ran out, shouted profanity, and shoved HIM, then called 911 and told the dispatcher he was intoxicated and threatening her. None of that was true. Two Downey PD officers responded, and did not cite, arrest, or asked him to leave. In fact, they asked if he wanted to file a charge of assault. I later learned she is the actual owner of this Xpress Auto Rental location, not just an employee, which makes the behavior even harder to excuse, since there's no manager above her to hold this accountable. My dad is in his 70s and it was really hard to witness this business owner screaming, pushing and falsely claiming untrue things. Cruise America corporate reviewed my complaint and refunded the full amount we were owed, which tells you they took this seriously. I waited to review until the complaint was settled but if you are considering renting here, know that this is who you'll be dealing with, and does someone like that really deserve your money.

When I arranged for the truck over the…read morephone at the Sorrento Valley location, I was told I would get the address to drop off the truck near my home when I picked up the truck. When I picked up the truck, I was given NO information on where to drop off the truck. I was given a phone number and told to call the number. When I called the number, there was no answer. I was moving on the weekend. I turned in the U-haul at the location closest to where I moved to and dropped the keys into the door drop spot as directed by someone at another U-haul location in LA who answered the phone. I took photos of the clean truck. I dropped it off with gas and the correct mileage before the end of the time I reserved the truck for. I was still charged an extra $120 (what it cost to rent it!). When I complained to Discover Card about the charge, they provided me with a receipt for "miscellaneous charges." After months of arguing, sending photos, and trying to figure what the charge was even for, I am still left with this charge. All their employees seem utterly clueless to anything more than how much they should convince you that you need bubble wrap. The ten bucks cheaper than their competitors was not worth it. The trucks sizes also do not match up to the number of rooms they're supposed to fit.

Then on the morning of pickup, Jose checked their inventory and reached out an hour before opening to let me know about an issue and to ask whether I was still interested in the rental.
