DO NOT RENT FROM THIS AGENCY. They collect a $50 fee and then just blow you off. I have excellent credit, perfect rental history references, lots of money in my savings, Stocks, bitcoin, even a gold bar and am a retired , educated professional from the housing industry. I was told I couldn't rent from them because she didn't feel comfortable with my income! I'm a senior on SSDI and receive a small check monthly plus my interest incomes. I had to contact Jill repeatedly via text, calls and emails and after two and a half weeks I get an email denying me the rental! The house had no central heating, no air-conditioning, on a well and septic. no landscaping and a rat infested shed that the previous tenant appeared to grow pot in! (light panels, numerous electrical outlets, etc. I am going to nursing school for a second career to help boomers age out into their twilight years. i felt completely disrespected and dismissed by Jill at D&G Equities. Nothing equitable about them! PASS ON RENTING FROM THEM. It appears they only want $50 "background check" money to make passive income off potential renters. Id give a -10 if possible. read more

I applied to a place that was for low income residents. I qualified because I made under the limit but they said I do not qualify because I make $20,000 over the limit. There caculations were way off by 30 grand. They had my yearly income on paper to see the proof that I did qualify but they kept saying I made too much money, I'm over the limit. I asked them how they did the math to come up with 30 grand over and they didn't give me a response. Just a super vague answer. Really weird. A little shady. read more

All in all we are so grateful for this team, and the fact that your organization offers texting services to communicate in a speedy way. The technological online tools, the friendly culture in the office, and the talented staff in place makes me want to own a home and have your company manage it! But time will tell if we are blessed with that opportunity haha.  My husband and I moved from Santa Cruz to Camp Meeker, and despite the distance, D&G worked with us through out the entire process. Therefore, I personally wanted to give a shoutout to the amazing Naomi, Sherry, and Jill. Their passion to help is seen throughout every small and large task they help customers with. Naomi - is an excellent communicator and very empathetic to the needs of her customers. For example: she was an excellent guide, and knew how important and personal moving is, and helped explain the entire process, deadlines, and made herself available whenever needed, removing all stress and logistical barriers. Sherry - thinks about every little thing that can further enhance the comfort of a tenant, hands down. For example the owner of our rental was having issues with the furnace and Sherry worked with him to get us temporary space heaters, and helped us resolve the issue in a week amongst holiday timelines, along eith some electrical items. Jill - was extremely kind in helping us move in 2 days earlier as we work from home and Comcast was not flexible on the installation date. It felt like she moved mountains for us. She was in constant communication with us about the process, and really coordinated with her team seamlessly. Just know we have nothing but amazing things to say about D&G! read more

Jill is rude un cooperative and doesn't even care to try and help. She denied us tenancy because she "didn't like us" do not use. Don't recommend this company for any type of business. Can we give negative stars? They are horrible people to deal with. Particularly the snarky douche bag Jill. She is obviously bipolar and has no business being in the public's presence. No judgement on bipolar my wife has the disorder but she still manages to be courteous and polite. Not this heinous human being. even after speaking to the owner of the property himself, and getting his approval she still turned her nose up at us and treated us like we were beneath her. She needs to either retire or do anything else. Horrible horrible person. We used Ziprent and have had an incredible experience with them. Beautiful newly remodeled property less expensive with chef's kitchen. So glad we averted this aneurysm of a company and its poor choice in staff. Negative stars given. read more

When our home burnt down in the Santa Rosa fires, it was hard for us to find a place with our elderly Dachshund. Jill and Naomi went above and beyond to accommodate us in our time of need. As a past and future homeowner I would never choose them to manage my property. I'm currently renting, and they would not even talk with me to tell me more about a property, or show it to me, unless I fill out an online application. I already have an application to another company filled out which they refused to take, and if THEY had taken a few minutes of brainpower, they would have been able with a couple of questions to qualify me. I have an income of $20,000 monthly, excellent references and credit rating and am an excellent tenant, but I won't be renting your home due to their lack of respect for me and my time, and their obnoxious sense of entitlement, self-importance, and rudeness on the phone. My husband and I rented a house through D&G for 12 years. During those 12 years we found them extremely difficult to deal with. Repairs were slow to happen and not done well at all. We eventually just did any needed repairs ourselves to insure they were done correctly and done in a timely manner. The replacement appliances that we received, when the fridge and stove died during our 12 years there, were of much lower quality compared to what was originally there when we rented the home. Recently, we were asked to move, due to the home being put on the market for sale, D&G deducted 10 days rent from our security deposit despite the fact that we were out 10 days before the deadline to vacate the premises. If you own a rental home, know that your home will not be well taken care of by them, and if you are a renter, know that they will do the absolute minimum and try to cheat you every chance they get. I do not have the words to express my dissatisfaction with D&G! So happy to no longer have to deal with them... read more

This company has lied, Stolen and Cheated from Us, after a month of there stairs being broken they kicked us out the took my deposit because they wanted me to remove things from there rental property that belonged to them. I am now starting a lawsuit because enough is enough. read more

The most unprofessional company I have ever worked with. I was interested in a property to rent. I requested to see the house. I first had to go through a very detailed application process just to SEE the house. Then when I finished the process, I again asked to see the property, all I got was a run around. (I have to add that I have stable employment for the past 20 years and a 6 figure salary with excellent recommendations from past landlords.) I could not get an answer on why I couldn't SEE the house. The house is still on the market with a price drop, hmmmm. The upside is I found the perfect house the following week managed by another company, and she is the nicest landlord ever! Thank you D&G for forcing me to move on! read more

Most of the reviews for D&G are by renters who were smart enough to stay away after dealing with Jill. We were not that smart. Here is just the tip of the iceberg that was our D&G experience. We're a younger, professional but poor couple, who recently mored to the California from another state. We both have degrees and are not your "high risk" renter types like you can sometimes find in Guerneville. We love Guerneville, still do, and the rental prices can be better than other locations so we figured why not. From day one Jill made us feel like we'd done something wrong by being in her office. She was short with us, annoyed by our presence, and downright rude. Honestly, had D&G not had the apartment we liked in our price range, I would have run screaming in the opposite direction, but I didn't think we would have to deal with her much. I cannot even begin to list the number of times this woman was way out of line. When our washer went out and kept flooding the apartment below ours, it took 3 weeks to "fix", though it never really was fixed I just stopped putting myself through dealing with Jill, and went to a laundry mat in Santa Rosa on my way home from work at night. If you're a property owner, and are allowing this company to manage your rental, just know this: once the lease is up you won't be getting any quality renters back for repeat business. If Jill treats you well, it's because you're her bread and butter. Please know that she is treating the renters, and your homes, in a vastly different way. If you're nice, trying to get a start, and at ALL sensitive or compassionate, stay far away from this woman and from D&G. Don't be tempted by the lower prices. I never leave reviews like this, but I truly hope it will help someone else not make the year long mistake we did. read more

I had to go by this place when inquiring about a commercial rental. This rude woman behind the counter literally tossed me the keys and went about her business. I guess I was interrupting her from her solitaire game or whatever it is she does with herself. So I grabbed the keys and gave up on trying to pry anymore info about the rental from her. I guess that meant I was supposed to go to the space and look at it by myself. They don't bother taking the time to list most of their rentals online. Must suck for the people who have hired them. I have heard nothing but similar stories about how rude these people are. There is another rental/property management in town called Russian River Realty.... they are actually really nice an accommodating. If you are reading this in search of a company to manage your property, go to RRR before you give a cent to D&G. They suck and don't deserve a thing. read more

How many times do I fall for this place? Always thinking these people could find a home for me. This last experience was the worst! After sitting with Devon for an hour going over an application, I was told a WEEK later that she couldn't find my app. THEN the story was that the application was "vague" and wasn't completed, which it WAS. THEN the story was that they do not support the cannabis business, which I am a part of- not a grower, though. This is discrimination, I believe. Furthermore, she would not return my sensitive documents when asked. In fact, she was hurriedly making copies when I arrived. I went over an TOOK them! She hissed like a CAT! I fell for it, i'm the first to admit that at first they were nice, then when it came to moving out (after being flooded out) they charged me 27 dollars an hour for cleaning. What cleaner in the world makes that much money? Anyways, after the seven hundred and something dollars they took from my deposit, they are now renting the place for over 300 dollars more than what I paid for it. Price gouging the people of California for years to come I'm sure. I am a property owner and D &G has managed my rental property for me for the past 10 years. I have never found Jill or anyone else in the office difficult to deal with. Quite the opposite. They have even gone out of their way to be helpful with issues unrelated to the property they managed for me. I have other properties managed by other property management companies and I find D&G to be more responsive and more professional than any of the others. I highly recommend them. read more

Our family has lived on the River for over 20 years. We raised our disabled son here, have participated in innumerable community events, raised funds for the community and been great neighbors. We have rented the same house for 13 years from a fantastic landlord/real estate broker. Unfortunately she is getting out of the business and selling the house. We went to D&G because they had a couple of houses listed that looked good. As we sat and talked we told them our situation, disabled son, maximum IHSS hours, SSI payments, I just graduated from law school and we have a section 8 voucher that will cover most of the rent. As soon as we mentioned that we have access to government money Jill, who was sitting at another desk, said "No", as she glared briefly at my wife and I, "Our landlords don't like section 8". No explanation, no real eye contact just a chilly hostility. The woman who was talking with us became visibly embarrassed, but that was it we were out. No discussion. Pity for the landlords though. We have diligently improved every property we have ever lived on. From extensive landscaping to repairing damage left by previous tenants we have never treated the place we live like a "rental". Here on the River there are wonderful people, you just won't find them at D&G. read more

Ahh...Villa Eileen...How I adore you for your squeaky floors, thin walls, and 1970s decor. Alright, alright...it wasn't that bad. Seriously, if you're looking for a house to rent in Russian River Valley, this is a great place to rent for the weekend with a group of friends. I've rented a house in RRV before so there were some comparisons to make. Big pluses: the deck area was bigger than the house, the place had 3 BBQs, firepit, and was literally located right by the river. Go for a nice summer weekend and plan to park yourself beachside for a morning of canoeing, afternoon of tanning, and a good game of truth or dare by the firepit. S'mores anyone? Tip + warning: you can canoe across the river to the Stumphump bar. Need I say more? read more

My partner and I were nervous about making the big move from San Francisco to the beautiful countryside....and we are SO glad we did! The incredible support from Naomi, Jill and Sherry at D & G made it possible for us to find the perfect treehouse rental that met all of our requirements (wood stove, tub, large deck, and surrounded by redwoods). D & G are thorough in their process of finding renters and for good reason-they truly care about their tenants and their properties. D&G...WORST property management ever! There admin costs for checking your credit etc is ridiculous. The employees especially Jill do not care about the people who come through their doors looking to rent. Jill is extremely rude and judgmental. Jill needs to look into a new profession, one that does not involve helping people. We were new to the area and looking to rent, we both had jobs and the finances to literally walk into a rental. But what this property management does is take money the money for admin fees (credit check etc 80.00 x 2 outrageous) then....they wait until they have numerous applications for a property (collecting as much admin fees as they can btw) then Jill, with her lack of personality, and non existent telephone/customer skills, selects who SHE likes for the rental. We eventually found a great place to rent via Craigslist.org, we found it in the area we wanted too. Our new landlady is fantastic. Our landlady knows of D&G and did not have good things to say about them... There are lots of rentals in the Guerneville, Forestville, Rio Nido area which can be rented via a private landlord, who will treat you like a human being and not like scum on the bottom of a shoe. I would suggest Craigslist. Alot of people are finding out about how shady and shoddy D&G are...I urge you not to give them your hard earned cash. Good luck with your rental searches. read more

Been renting from them for roughly 6 months now and what an awesome experience! I love living out in the forest and this 1BR is gorgeous. There weren't any "surprises" I discovered after moving in and the 1BR continues to make me smile every day. Sure there have been little annoyances that have come up, which leads me to my favorite part about D&G, how well they handle those kinds of issues, after you've become a tenant. For example, a tree fell on the roof in the middle of the night 2AM-ish and it cracked the roof and almost immediately they responded to my messages and within only a few hours they had a crew fixing everything. The other day I wanted some screens on the windows to keep the bugs out since half of my windows had them and the other half didn't. I sent in a maintenance request and no questions asked they jumped all over it and I had new screens in maybe 48 hours, tops. They are awesome! I'm not planning on moving anytime soon but if I do, D&G Properties will be my #1 choice! Also, I read some of the comments about Jill in some of the other reviews and just want to share that she's been exceedingly kind in EVERY interaction I've had with her. read more

I am happy to report that after my last posting, the owner of D&G got involved and got rid of the trailer within a few days. Huge relief and allowed us to get the area cleaned after the flood. And, now they have gotten rid of all the trash and detritus that was around the grounds of their rental house so it's looking tidy again. Thank you! read more

The DeProtos own this business, and they are extremely powerful in the local community, and use their power to be aggressive to their tenants. They regularly harassed, in person and over phone/email, my disabled neighbors and tenants with federal housing vouchers. They consistently ignored complaints of termites and moldy carpet. When I told them I was moving out, they initially refused an inspection, claiming that they "didn't like my attitude." Refusing an inspection is illegal under CA law, and I had to cite that rule to make them comply. When I finally moved, they kept $250 of my deposit for damage that I did not do to the apartment, and told me to "F*** off" and hung up on me when I called them about this. D&G violates Federal and state housing law and extorts their tenants because in Sonoma County, anyone who owns property gets what they want, including the (undeserved) protection of the Sonoma County Sheriff's office. If I could rate them zero stars I would. read more

We have been long term tenants of D & G Equity Management and have rented a total of five properties over many years. We have never complained or requested assistance until the experience in the fifth property. It was a newer duplex and halfway through our lease, they re-rented the other side to an individual who was up all night, over consecutive nights. We reported the antics of this person to D & G management, specifically 'Jill,' and it all fell on deaf ears. This person's antics included walking the roof of a three story building in the early hours of the morning, breaking his front window, having sex on a shared balcony during the night, finally ramming his vehicle into the back wall of his garage. They did nothing. We made a total of five Sheriff calls regarding the early morning noise and disruptions, showed them the reports and still they did nothing. Finally, the neighbor became violent towards us, the Sheriff showed up, and the next day Jill wouldn't even see me regarding the dire straits we were going through in their rental property. We finally moved out a month early because of the 'UNHABITABILITY' of the unit. I sent them a demand letter for all the months we were inconvenienced and threatened and they didn't even have the courtesy of responding. Throughout the years, the staff have been observed as being not friendly to their clients and potential clients. Both Michael the owner-broker and his daughter Jill, an associate, are both uncomfortable and impossible to deal with. I can't tell you how many front office receptionists they have gone through over the years but they don't seem to last in their family run business. If you're looking for rental properties, try the other local rental agencies or even the local real estate offices. They will be more than helpful in assisting you in getting a great rental property with courtesy and respect you deserve. read more

Worst people in the world. All they want is your money, they don't even keep their properties up to health standards. There was black mold growing in my boyfriend's apartment when he first moved in and he had to clean it because they wouldn't. And when it flooded this past winter, Jill told him to "surrender his keys until further notice" as if they wanted to evict him immediately without even looking into the issue. As late fire victims asking for housing June 2018 we were told how much they wanted to help back in Oct, but few accepted. So now they have developed a placating attitude as we did our part and too bad for you and now were gonna punish you because you didn't accept our over inflated rentals the day after the fire. We have 2 dogs and 1 cat who involuntary became homeless Oct 8 due to 100 foot flames destroying some 14,000 persons lives. Such placating BS because we asked for help 7 months later. This rebuild is gonna take 3 years. Be sure to sign up with these caring folks.
