Worst movers ever. No moving blankets used. Destroyed all my furniture. Kitchen table in multiple pieces. End table in unrecognizable pieces. 4 days late on pick up and 2 days late on drop off. Dropped off with a different truck and missing items.

Look at all that empty space that we were charged for.

Dealing with this "company" has been a veritable nightmare from start to finish. If you are even THINKING about hiring this company or are dealing with a broker who might hire them, then I implore you to absolutely find a different moving company. We had planned to move all of our stuff on May 1st from St. Louis to Washington, DC, quite a stressful long-distance move for us to begin with, and dealing with this moving company has made it that much worse. The plan was that we were going to be in St. Louis on May 1st to oversee the pick-up of our stuff, and then that it would be delivered on Monday, May 4th. They were several hours late to pick-up our stuff (were supposed to be there between 11-1) and didn't show up until almost 4pm. We had originally had a rehearsal dinner to go to that night; thank god that it was cancelled due to all the coronavirus stuff otherwise we would have missed it. After taking many breaks and having their kids and wife stop by for lunch (all the while one of the kids was climbing around inside the moving truck), they finally finished up about 3 hours later. Also, I'd like to mention that the guys that David hires (the moving company owner) are not professional movers. He literally just hires random dudes to come move stuff for him, so nothing is done how it should be. When I told David (the moving company owner) that we had agreed with the broker that our stuff would be delivered the following Monday he kept saying "Well, that's the plan, but you know, stuff happens." From his tone, and how he kept insisting that "stuff happens" I just had a feeling that we weren't getting our stuff on Monday. (Side note: We were moving all of our stuff from a 10x20x8 foot storage unit that holds 1800 cubic feet of stuff. What David ended up charging us was well over that, because he stated that he couldn't stack some of the boxes on top of each other (?). It was definitely shady from the beginning.) Imagine my surprise then when we got a call on Sunday afternoon from David saying that the truck had just left with our stuff and it was on its way to DC. We were really happy! Maybe this company wasn't as bad as we had previously assumed. WRONG. I then received another call from David on Sunday evening saying that the truck had broken down and that he wasn't sure if we would get our stuff the next day. I KNEW IT. So he told us that he would call us back that night and let us know the status of the truck. He never did call us and I finally texted him the following day about what was going on with our stuff. He replied later that the water pump had broken and that a replacement one should be there that afternoon. So, no, we weren't getting our stuff on the day we had planned, the day we had both taken off work for, the day we had paid to have our very busy city street blocked off in order to make room for the movers. We were stressed and aggravated. David never called or texted us back again that day, and I texted him again on that Tuesday morning to see what was going on with the truck. David finally got back to me later and again replied that the water pump still wasn't there, but that it would be there that afternoon. I never heard back again from him again that day, or the next day, or even on Thursday. By then I was calling the broker again to see if they could reach David to see where the heck our stuff was. David wouldn't even tell us the name of the mechanic whose shop our truck was supposedly sitting in with all our stuff, because apparently (according to the broker) they didn't have to disclose that information, even though they were literally the ones holding all our belongings. When I asked the broken why they didn't have to tell us she said "They just don't." What is that even about? My guess was that David was actually lying about the truck ever even leaving St. Louis and that they would just show up whenever they felt like it. Why else would they not tell us where our stuff was? So finally, on Friday afternoon after much back and forth from the broker (who wasn't much help anyway) David called me and said that the original truck never got fixed and that our stuff was put on a different truck and was now on its way to us, arriving on the next day, Saturday. We were less than thrilled that our stuff had to be moved from one truck to another (one time is bad enough), but were at least relieved that our stuff was finally on the way, HOPEFULLY. So on Saturday we waited, and waited, and waited, and we finally got a call from the driver at about 5pm saying that he would be there around 7pm. We had no idea why it would have taken him until 7pm the following night to get to DC, especially if they had left on Friday afternoon, but we were just happy to hear SOMETHING about our stuff. (to be continued in my next review, Jennifer P.)

From the very first call, Josh made me feel very comfortable and confident I had found the right company. Every request, every question was met with "I've got you" and he did. Just relax, Josh has you. I was moving some (yes, more than 1) cabinets with glass panels and several antiques. Everything was draped with a moving blanket and wrapped to protect it. I was amazed! Every. Single. Thing. was well protected and secure. He treated my belongings with the utmost care, as if they were his own. Disaster struck when we realized my fancy bed was not likely to make it up to the bedroom. But, once again, Josh had me. His crew navigated those stairs like a boss and got it up there! (It's never leaving, but that's another story). Things WILL happen during your move, that's why you need someone like Josh so that when you panic, his quick thinking and his professional crew can save the day. RD Moving is the best choice you can make. Josh will guide you through the process and help you navigate the inevitable bumps. When the movers arrived, the youngest one didn't know how to pack art. (The primary bulk of our move) and a supervisor had to "teach" him. He then proceeded to pack my art in ways that likely damaged it. (See attached photos) I called the owner to let him know what was going on and before I could explain fully, he interrupted and said "I'm sending the guys back". I would've let him know they were still here and explained further what was happening. (Which was that I asked them to just start moving and would unpack the poorly packed boxes myself, after sending him photos) When Matt arrived he asked to see the boxes. I told him I already started unpacking them. He said "well how am I supposed to know how bad it is?" I said "the photos I sent". I guess this is the point he thought I was trying not to pay for anything and attempted to cancel the job right there, claiming they were not a good fit, but not to worry, I wouldn't be charged. I said "I want to pay your team". He said "could've fooled me". He then proceeds to tell me he didn't remember about the art that was packing. (Why did we do a walk through then?) and that I don't know how to move. (No kidding, that's why I hired you), that HE supervises his staff, not me. (The only thing I asked his head guy to do was confirm if a box should look like that and he said no. That's when I called the owner.) This company is incredibly overpriced, lacks transparency, sends high school kids to pack boxes, and then blames the customer upon complaint. I insisted on paying, but they took an hour off my bill. (I believe this is fair financially as they were only here for 3) However, beware of this company and the tactics they use to pressure you to book, and the kids they send to do the work.

In Dallas the cubes were not allowed to be at the apartment complex so I hired movers who packed everything up in their truck and took it to the Dallas terminal and unloaded into the cubes. The movers ran late and we were there far past the normal hours but there was someone there to help us get to our cubes and even locate a 3rd when we realized everything was just not going to fit. In St Louis I was contacted about scheduling a time to have them delivered. My apartment here did allow them to be on property but only for 24 hous. We planned for a 8-12 delivery. The driver called at 7:45 and said he was driving in, perfect! My 3rd cube was not very full and I asked if we could empty it quickly so it wouldn't take up more space. He said that would make his day easier transporting them so he helped out and got everything inside before the rain hit. Movers came and unloaded. Driver called at 11:45 to see where we were and we had only 1 item left to unload, we did that and he showed up and took the units. They were only on property for about 4 hours total. PERFECT!!! I used a coupon from Yelp to save $50. For my 3 cubes from Dallas - O'Fallon, IL it was $1002.
