If I could pick a zero rating I would. I clicked on the link from my daughter's swim team to buy her a swim parka. She is on a youth team that ranges in ages 4 months to 14. The parka did not specify if it was adult or youth. We had previously purchased a swimsuit which was a youth swimsuit. I ordered a Large. It took over two months to receive it and never did I get any confirmation it shipped. After nearly two months I emailed to see what the status was and was told they were waiting for it to come in and then they would prioritize its embroidery. Was happy to hear that but also frustrated it would not be here for my daughter's birthday as I had planned. Then the parka arrives and it's an adult large. My daughter is 8... After talking to Haley and Don I was insulted and told by Don, "It's not my fault you don't know how to order the proper size." WOW. I blew up then and he said he would call me back. He also tried to blame me for not realizing what it was. The website did not specify and the size chart which is on a totally different page shows an adult size and a youth size. The size chart however is nowhere in the main body of the parka information even when clicking more information tabs, etc. It's at the very bottom with their address, about us, careers, etc. Upon inspecting the sizing chart it shows a youth parka and an adult parka. As of now he is refusing to do anything and sticking me with a $150 item I can't use and may never be able to use. read more

While shopping for Tech suits we asked if they had any tester suits to try on for size. The lady who was working was so incredibly rude. She asked us what kind of suit they needed, we told her and she told us we were wrong and kept insisting that we had no idea what we were talking about (we've been swimming for over 10 years). She made us all feel like complete idiots and disregarded everything we told her. read more

They delivered one month after the order was made online . Even more professional the size was not fitting they refused to exchange from what they already have in store since it had a logo printed . One swimsuit with a logo in the store = one swimsuit with a logo in my hand. This simple equation was too hard for the owner , Mr.Matt, to understand. He kept saying I'll get stuck with yours , when he was already stuck with other hand full logo printed swimsuits. Customer Service this is something they know nothing about!!!! read more

I agree with the other reviewers about horrible customer service (with an attitude to be more specific). I dealt with Matt over the phone after I submitted an online customer message. First of all he turned my daughters' swimsuits in to our team with no paperwork so we didn't know that they were even here. Then we noticed that the wrong sized swimsuit was in the correctly labeled box. There was no acceptance of responsibility when I addressed him about the wrong sized swimsuit that was delivered to me. "Someone must have messed it up." was his comment. I didn't even want to deal with him to get the swimsuit switched for the appropriate size. "I'm not sure what you want me to do since you don't want to exchange the suit." Was the comment. I would have loved to hear that he was going to work to make sure this didn't happen again. I was done with our discussion after this. I have used them for many years for swim gear and will not use them any longer. How disappointing for a local shop to be difficult to deal with! I'll pay more for better customer service!!! read more

Terrible, the customer service, i went to the store and they told me (you can not try it on and fit them because you gonna buy online and you want only want to know your size ) but I'm not, I went because my daugther'team send us to there to fit the swimsuit, and the crazy guy said (no we dont know your team ) but you know what he has to be nice and ask first if he dont know he just has to find the solution not to ofend me with his ugly face because he was looking me that i was lied finally his Dad helping me to find the size but eather one didnt told me sorry. The online version of this store does not allow returns on technical suits. Of course it is so far down the fine print it is a joke. They can make sure you understand their policy on free shipping but if the item is not returnable it should be stated on the invoices. The suit did not fit and not i am stuck with a $395 suit. Two weeks ago I tried to exchange several pairs of new, never worn, tags still in place, swimwear I purchased for my son. I didn't want a refund, just a exchange to the next size up. Upon entering the store I knew, based upon the sales reps body language, that I was unwelcomed. The sale rep was rude and argumentative. I asked for the managers name, and this 20-something said he was the "owner,". After exchanging a few unpleasantries, I left. Please do not patron this store. read more

Wow, I should have seen the reviews here before placing my order. Exactly like every single person has said here the customer service is just plain awful. I placed an order and after not getting any shipment confirmation a week and a half later, I called to inquire. From the get go the owner Matt who answered had a really bad attitude and was very very rude. Instead of kindly explaining that since my suit had a logo placed on it, it would take 2 weeks to ship along with the other item in my order that I was expecting, he kept saying "well you didn't pay for shipping, you didn't pay for shipping." Yes, I didn't pay for shipping because my order was over a certain amount but that should not mean my order should be viewed as any less value. I had to remind him at one point that he was being rude and it was unnecessary. It's shocking this is the owner of the company because by the attitude it surely sounded like so ranging hormone teenager. read more

I'd recommend the owners add swim to their name...I thought this was a sporting goods store with hiking, etc gear. and I'm sure they get that from other. Terrible customer service. The person I spoke with, Matt Kaye the owner, was very rude and could not contain his annoyance and frustration with my inquiry. When I asked why an item had not yet shipped (despite an email days earlier from another customer service rep said it would be sent out), he responded with "she's new and didn't know," still not explaining as to why this had happened. There is no reason to raise one's voice, or be extremely rude to a customer who is simply trying to find out where their items are; I was not demanding anything. I was not asking for any discount. I was not looking for anything for free; I simply wanted the items that I had ordered to be shipped out as promised. read more

Terrible customer service. After waiting 6 weeks for an order placed for my son's swim team uniform & gear, I finally received it 2 days before his first swim meet. One item needed to be exchanged due to incorrect size. I requested it via their online portal in December, January, and again in February and was told I would receive a return receipt with instructions. I still have not received a response. If you have the option to use another store, I highly recommend that you do. read more

Only giving one star because Yelp doesn't allow for zero stars. I placed an order in September 19, 2019, for a team suit, sweatshirt, and sweatpants during our team's apparel fitting. After two and a half weeks, my package arrived containing only the suit and the sweatshirt. Their packing slip contained no contact informs for the company nor did their e-mail receipt. Red flag #1 I finally found an email address for the rep assigned to our team--Shane. He assured me that my sweatpants would arrive shortly bc they'd been rushing to get the team suits done in time for our meet. October 16 and still no sweatpants, but I received a call from a woman saying that several people had quit (Red Flag #2) and they would be sending my sweatpants immediately. October 24--another email to Shane looking for the sweatpants. No response. November 2 and still no sweatpants. This company is a joke. Stay far, far away unless you want to spend money on items you'll never see. read more

I've had the same experience as some of the other reviews with terrible customer service and misleading information. I paid an extra fee for expedited shipping and did not get my order in time. And when I called my inquiry was met with a rude tone of voice, an irritating stubbornness, and disgusting customer service attitude. I hope I never have to deal with these people again. read more

I ordered lane lines for our summer league team because not only were they the cheapest, but the website advertised shipping within 2 days and we could have them in a week. Fast forward 4 weeks, multiple phone calls, constant reassurance that the lane lines were in route, to finally being told (after a month) that the black floats were on back order. I was absolutely stunned at the lack of judgement to simply call at first sign of a problem and offer a refund because of the setback in time frame. Time was of the essence for our needs. By the time I would have received them, the summer league season would be over and they would go straight into storage. The complete disregard of honest information and lack of professionalism was astounding. I am not convinced they even cared one bit. I will not do business of any sort with D and J ever again. I found a retailer out of Chicago that gladly matched pricing and freight and even came in $100 cheaper in the end. Customer service is not something I experienced at all. Buyer beware. read more

They seem to have the best selection for swimmers. Especially, if you have a child in this sport. Don't waste your time going all over town looking for a certain suit because most sporting good stores don't carry a wide selection year round. D&J is a little pricey, but if you have a student discount, it helps. This store is located in an odd spot and it doesn't face the street so it's easy to miss. Their online store is easy to navigate and you can also call ahead to see if an item is in stock. If not, they will check the other stores and ship to your doorstep. For those of you closer to Rockwall......they also have a small shop inside the RISD-natatorium. read more

If it is swimming, they have it. Over the years, the staff has helped me find the right type of suit for me. They also showed me Aquasphere goggles that are a lot more comfortable for lap swimming than traditional Speedo racing goggles. And if the staff ever seems crusty, remember they are swimmers so stick to swimming stuff...and you can't return bathing suits so get it right before you leave. read more

We've been shopping here for about 2 years -each time I've had awesome customer service. I did however end up with a tech suit last week that was too little for my high school son and when he put it on at the meet the stitching came out around the waist- we even had him try it at the store, questioning if we got the same suit we tried on- that was the only issue we've had and we will continue to shop there. Placed an order online for a couple pairs of goggles. After a week I emailed them to let them know that I had not received the product and was interested in a shipping tracking number. Their email responded "Will be shipping today, goggles just came in". A week and half later I once again informed them I did not receive the product and they responded "The goggles just came in, will be shipping today." They were good about cancelling my order right away. Its probably bc they still didn't have the goggles. Delays in shipping bc they are out of stock are understandable. Lying is not!! read more

Poor customer service at your Preston location. I was the only customer in the store when I walked in...I came in for a specific item. The employee was doing paperwork and making phone calls behind the desk. She was so annoyed I was even in the store, & even more annoyed that I asked her a question. Her body language, lack of eye contact, & eye rolling was not a warm welcome. I will not be back. I would recommend doing business elsewhere, or seeking out swim gear online...at least you won't have someone disrespecting you. read more

Customer Service is the worst!!! An order worth several hundreds of dollars went missing in the mail. It had been delivered to the wrong address and subsequently went missing from there. I did not blame them for this mistake, however I did request they email me a tracking number for future orders. They said they "always email tracking numbers." Um no, this was my third order from them and they had never sent me tracking information for any of them. They said "we do if we have your email address." I said, well you DO have my email address. You email me my order confirmation and my payment receipt. You have my email address. I had also called a while back to check the status of my order and to make sure they had the correct address. When I asked what the status of my order was, the man on the phone said "you'll get it soon". I asked if it was still being made he said "you'll get it soon" I asked if it had been shipped and he said again very vaguely "you'll get it soon." Lo and behold a few weeks later this very same order has gone missing. When I called to address the situation, I was not assigning blame, I wanted them to know that this could have been prevented if they had sent me the tracking info and followed up when I had asked them to. The person on the phone got extremely defensive and literally said "This is your fault, we did what you asked of us, and we ALWAYS follow up when clients ask about the status of their order and we ALWAYS email tracking numbers." Well I must be pretty special because this did not happen with me, please relay this information to your manager so he or she can be aware of it. The response "No, I will not because there is no message to relay." Wow. Good to know who I'm dealing with. Needless to say our business is going elsewhere and we will not recommend them. read more

I just started taking swim lessons on July 12 and my instructor asked me to buy some training fins. I looked on the internet and found D&J's location close to downtown Dallas. I went by before work on July 17 and was helped by one of their store clerks. Although the store did not have the speedo fins I wanted the clerk pointed me to the D&J brand. They looked a little shorter than the speedo fins so I asked the clerk about the return policy. He said as long as the fins were returned in like new condition an exchange would not be a problem. I went to my swim class the evening of July 17 and my instructor said the longer fins would be better for my skill level but she wanted me to swim a couple laps to see if the fins worked my legs properly. After two laps she said the longer fins would work better so I put my fins back in their bag. I tried to exchange the fins to D&J's on 7/18 (less than 24 hours after purchase). The clerk asked me if I had used the fins and I told her I had worn them for two laps and I just wanted to exchange them for the longer fins. She said she would have to check with the "manager". While she was away I saw a sign behind the cash register that said the return policy was within 30 days with a receipt. The "manager" came out and said they would not do the exchange because the fins were "used". When I mentioned my conversation with the clerk the day before the "manager" said "well he is not a sales clerk and does not know the policy". I then mentioned their sign behind the register and he read off the last line about "company can refuse an exchange due to misuse or abuse". I asked him if wearing the fins for two laps was abuse or misuse and he just said "I'm sorry". It's unfortunate because as the other reviewers said this shop does have a good selection and is convenient to downtown Dallas. It is further frustrating because three other members of my family are getting into swimming and I thought I had found a good swim shop for products; however, I cannot in good conscience shop at a store that does not honor their written policies or the verbal policies of their clerks. read more
