I must admit it's been years ( so sorry ) since I've been into Skivvies only because I've moved uptown and I just don't go to Cedar Springs like I use to ! Because my underwear collection is still very massive !! So my visit was a 10 out of 10!! The guys behind the counter greeted us as soon as we entered/ and then we went to the adult section of the store . I was looking for a interesting or unique gift for an dear friend's birthday that was rapidly approaching ( my back up was going to be a gift card ) but after about the 30 minutes of browsing we decided on a unique item / bought a card / did a little more shopping for myself. The selection of different clothing items were pretty amazing definitely going to go back for myself.. Matt behind the counter was very helpful and re entered my information into the system !Love the candle selection! Went to the birthday celebration last night and my gift was definitely one that stood out and very popular among some of the other guests !! Every time I am in Dallas, I stop by this store to see what they have. It is huge, and they have a very wide variety of underwear, jocks, t-shirts, casual shirts, and most anything else you would want. Staff is helpful and friendly. On this trip, most of the clothes are polyester/spandex from China with prices for linen. For plastic clothing, I think it should be a bit cheaper...at least it won't shrink! read more

In addition to a notable selection of toys, they have an expansive selection of men's underwear and clothing. They carry brands that aren't often available in other shops in the area. All four times I've been up to visit Dallas over the last 5 or 6 years, I ended up walking out with a mountain of undies and some really cute shirts/shorts. On my last trip in November specifically I found a cute pair of shorts they were just putting out and ended up buying them in like 4 or 5 different colors. They sell cheap fake underwear and swim that don't last and look great in the store all together but I recently dropped 1,000 for 4 Versace briefs and so much happier with the quality and service. Not saying u have to spend that much, really save the trip and head to tapelanders across the street or OUTLINES for addicted and diesel same price as this stores wannabe China amazon pieces. I support those businesses and keep spending a lot of money there because they treat me good and take care of me. I went in today to buy some shorts and didn't fully realize I was RACIALLY PROFILED until I got home! First off, I'm college educated and live a comfortable lifestyle (how else could I afford the overpriced items there). I came in wearing business casual clothes and there is nothing about my essence that suggest I would steal but that didn't stop them from keeping a close distrustful eye on me as I shopped AND as I was leaving with my purchase! I purchased several items from the store over the last 6 years and was a loyalty member (info saved in the system) but that didn't stop any of their racial profiling! All they seen was a black man and nothing else about me mattered! It's very possible I was racially profiled before and I was just too distracted to notice. I guarantee they are the most hostile to black and latino clientele! I won't spend another dollar there again, the place is seriously overpriced for unknown brands anyway, and I highly recommend my FABULOUS gay men of color to avoid this place like the plague! Now I understand why it's always so empty whenever I visited! And I just noticed by reading more comments below from other African-American customers that I'm not alone. I wish I had been read these Yelp reviews! What I experienced is real and the norm there! Plus this place always had a super creepy uncool vibe, for example, today they were playing loudly on the speakers the Kavanaugh hearing which is important but I didn't want to hear that blasted while I was shopping. There are few stores like this one. I had ordered men's specialty underwear online for years, but when I walked in the door I became a customer for life. The majority of it is men's underwear and swimwear, which start around $10 but a lot of it can be $50-60 so is rather pricey, but you can literally "try before you buy" with the dressing rooms and buy locally rather than online. Part of the store is dedicated to shirts and pants, along with belts, shoes, and other accesories. Shirts referencing the GLBT community are routinely available. The staff is friendly and will often make helpful suggestions. Don't be afraid or shy because they've seen just about everything there. Beware however that making returns may be difficult due to state laws governing underwear and swimwear, and other than some of the t-shirt section, there may not be much for female shoppers, although the owners also own a gift shop next door that features mostly housewares. This is the all male version of "Victoria's Secret." I am sad that the clearance center closed, however I suspect they will simply carry the merchandise upstairs and integrate it into "one stop shopping" so don't forget to try the upstairs section. You may just find a bargain that fits. read more

There are questions they have to ask if you need help and they're not asking to be invasive. They can tell you that brand A has a better cut than brand B if you're looking for a good fit in X region of your body. Feel free to ask questions. This was my 2nd visit and my other half's dunno, but the gentleman remembered us, making it a very pleasant experience. The outlet store was just as great. I've been to Houston's Hollywood Super Center, San Antonio's Male B Wear, Austin's Package Menswear, and Skivvies in Dallas has hands down the best selection in Texas. They even have their own in house line with competitive pricing. If you watch gay media, you can catch them in Hurricane Bianca and a few other films and reality show. Skivvies offers a wide variety of brands and they haven an entire clearance room / second floor loft if you're on a budget. Like any store, the staff can be hit and miss, but most are good. I absolutely ***LOVE*** this place! The selection is unparalleled, there's an entire clearance ROOM (not just one little rack) and the staff was super helpful. They knew just when to check on me and offer advice and when to leave me on my own, and they let me take my time trying everything on. And the location is great -- right in the middle of the "Gayborhood" on Cedar Springs. I visited Skivvies once before, several years ago, so I made sure to come back when I had a chance to visit Dallas again. Place is big and unlike the other reviews the guy working there is busy hahaha not friendly nor rude just working hahaha. The selections of underwear is huge, skivvies branded underwear for $15 and some good sale items. The gifted store attached to it has cheap selections of dildos and other toys as compared to other stores like the one i saw was $24 while other stores priced it at $39.99. This store stocks absolutely everything you could imagine in the men's underwear world...and beyond! There are also swimsuits, t-shirts and athletic apparel plus some crazy toys and whatnots. The service is fantastic. Look forward to visiting next time I'm in Dallas again. So I decided to stop here and check this place out for something for my partner. The prices are "Chicago" in price (meaning high). I found T-shirts (except the ones that say Dallas) that I can find in Chicago so I passed on those. The underwear section was huge! I gave this store four starts (instead of three) b/c the guy working there (Robbie, I think) was so friendly and helpful. He seemed more like a good friend shopping with me then an employee. Very warm and inviting. I ended up buying a "trick" T-shirt for myself and a Dallas T-shirt for my partner. OMG I love this store! Besides, men's underwear stores are my weakness. Undies galore here! Not just undies... HOT undies... Not to mention expensive undies. AND the biggest collection of men's underwear I've ever seen in America. They have bathing suits as well, and clothing and footwear, and a really cute and nice owner. The problem with this store and others in the Oak Lawn area are that if the staff finds you attractive, they go out of their way to help you - otherwise, forget it; they could care less. Skivvies has an incredible selection of underwear, but honestly, as a woman there wasn't much for me to buy for myself. In truth, I am writing this review because I was very offended by the customer service experience I received. On Friday in the middle of the day I went into Skivvies with a girlfriend of mine; we were looking for Christmas presents for our male friend, among other things, and the guy at the counter barely looked up when we approached. He was reading a magazine and acted like we were bothering him when he asked if he could help us. I told him that I was looking for t-shirts, and he pointed to the front wall where a meager display of about eight shirts hung. We gave up on getting help and wandered by ourselves, and I ended up buying some scented soap. The next day we came back with two other friends, one of whom was a big burly 'bear'-type male. Once again, a DIFFERENT man at the counter was not helpful or friendly to us and did not offer to help us find anything. He didn't come out from behind the counter or anything to see if we needed help. We didn't end up buying anything that time, and later that night we met with my gay best friend for dinner. I was telling him about the experience and how disappointed I was that I was unable to find a t-shirt there. In surprise, he told me that there's a whole upper level to the store full of t-shirts and other items. BOTH visits I mentioned I was looking for a t-shirt and NEITHER employee offered me any help. I am assuming that this is because I'm a woman and they figured that I wasn't going to spend any money. (How wrong they were... I wound up spending $400 elsewhere on my friend's present instead of spending it at Skivvies). I am a huge GLBT ally and have plenty of gay friends, and I spend a lot of time shopping in 'gay-centric' stores. Rarely do I experience this level of coldness from the customer service department. What adds insult to injury is that about an hour after our dinner, my gay friend went into Skivvies himself--- he told me later that the staff were swarming all over him, asking to help, making recommendations, and lavishing him in attention. So apparently it WAS "just us" and not those two cashiers having an 'off' day. Oh well--- Skivvies has lost my business, and I will continue to shop elsewhere until they realize that ALL customers have value, not just the cute males. read more

This store is huge! Half of it is all underwear. Love the selection, and the staff is nice too. It's a little expensive, but they do have sales. Many of the designs are reasonably priced around $20 to $25. Not a bad price for quality. Unless of course you always buy your skivvies in a 8 pack at Walmart. The first Wednesday of each month offers a nice sale and cute guys in their skivvies helping as sales associates! I was just on my way to a wedding and was looking for a specific greeting card for the occasion. I went to Oak Lawn because I thought that I would be amongst peers and would find what I needed. To say that I got the cold shoulder from one of the workers there would be an understatement. I was ignored to the point to where I didn't think that the "gentleman" there was an employee. I figured that maybe he was there shopping. After standing at the counter for about 5 minutes(as his back was turned to me, as he proceeded to text on his cell phone) I finally walked over to the other side of the store and asked the guy working on that side if I could pay for the card at his counter. He was more than willing to help but I noticed that he gave his co-worker a look like "why didn't you help this man?" Needless to say that I am still stunned that I experienced this within a community that still fights for equality. This is disgraceful.
