9 years ago, the Parkville shop did a great job of a 3/4 hood, bumper, mirrors, and front of fenders wrap, with a 7 year warranty. What they never told me was these wraps should never be left on more than 4-5 years. So, after 8.5 years, the wrap on the hood got a bunch of tremendous cracks. I took it to D&L to get it removed and they warned me some paint might peel off. Well, they charged 8 hours of time, left a bunch of unnecessary scratches on the hood, and a sloppy mess of glue residue all over the grill, hood gasket, and running down the doors from the mirrors. I cleaned the glue off myself and complained to the mgr., who refused to refund one dime for that sloppy mess. Of course their signs and paperwork are filled with disclaimers. NEVER AGAIN! NEW COMMENTS: Frank's response to my review is the perfect indication of the type of attitude he has to customer service. The cracks didn't appear until 8.5 years, after the warranty expired. I was never told about the safe life of the product at installation time, either verbally or in writing when installed 9 years ago. I didn't notice the mess until I got home. I cleaned it myself because I never want D&L to touch my car again. D&L takes no responsibility for anything, hence the number of bad reviews. Trying to cloud the issue with attacks on customers seems to be typical. I was charged almost as much for this amateur, sloppy removal as the original installation. Don't waste your time or money coming here. This place is a scam and you might as well sell your soul away while you're at it if you get work done here. Went to go get tint removed from my car that I just recently bought because they were too dark and it failed state inspection. So, I come here since they've been in business a long time and had mostly good reviews online. All I can say is, I wish I listened to those 1 star reviews. I walk in and say to the woman at the front desk that I'm looking to get tint removal. She says to me tint removal is $150 and we only take cash, but if you decide you want to get tints put back on after your car passes inspection, the removal would only be $75 but you have to prepay for the tint re-addition which would be about $250. Funnily, there's a sign right next to me that says "We accept debit and credit cards". Right away alarm bells are going off in my head. This was my first time going to a tint shop, so I wasn't sure what the standard practice was but only accepting cash for a job I've heard many people having damage to the vehicles afterwards definitely didn't feel on the up and up. Ignoring this first alarm, I decide to move forward with the removal. I'm then handed a waiver saying that D&L will not be held responsible for any damage to the interior of the vehicle. Right there another alarm bell goes off in my head but I mistakenly choose to ignore it again and sign the paper. I give them the keys and was told it would take them about an hour to finish. I'm sitting in the lobby anywhere from 15-20 minutes and am then told by the woman at the desk my car is ready. Surprised by how quickly it got done, I walk outside and immediately notice the door panel on the driver's side is sticking up like it was ripped from the door. I go around and see that all of the door panels look like they've been pulled loose. I say to the guy who brought my car around what happened here and he goes inside to whoever actually did the job I assume. The guy that comes out is a complete joke and has no professionalism or courtesy whatsoever. He immediately starts saying how the panel was already like that before they worked on it and I probably just didn't see it because the tint was so dark. One thing about me is I'm a very meticulous person and did a thorough look at this car about a week and a half ago when I bought it. I can tell you 1000% those panels were not sticking out like they were once this idiot got done with them. I could understand it happening but to just leave it ripped off and have the nerve to tell me it was like that already shows me this employee could give 2 sh*ts about your business and your vehicle. It was probably warped from the heat and they could have definitely fixed it but decided they're just gonna leave it that way. They even damage the lining on the left side of my front windshield somehow when the front didn't even need tint removed!! Just a complete joke. The worst part is I'm the dummy that gave this place money and signed the papers releasing them of liability. They certainly know how to cover their behinds at this place and they'll certainly screw yours if you choose to do business with them. The bright side is I was smart enough not to prepay for tints because I'm sure that money would have been gone with the wind. I decided to purchase a 'commuter car' and settled on a Honda Civic EX. The first week I felt like ALL the sun and ALL the headlights were shining into the car. It was blinding; literally. My second car is a mid-sized SUV so, comparatively, this little thing sits lower and I suppose that's why I was being blinded. The dealer actually recommended D&L so... 3 weeks later I was on site. The actual price was higher than the quoted price, but as with everything, there are options. Good, Better, Best..... you know. It was a Saturday and because I was lazy I didn't get there until a bit after noon. The customer service rep stated it would be 1.5 hours so, I waited. There are sofas, a bathroom and they sell small snacks. You could walk across the street to purchase food from nearby fast food restaurants as well. I brought my laptop and they had wifi so I was good. Everybody was wearing masks and even though there were 5 of us there we were able to socially distance ourselves from each other. I felt comfortable. My car was actually finished sooner than expected and everything was explained. I chose the 3M tint which has little 3M logos on the tint which you can see from inside the car. I was instructed on how to remove them. They don't bother me so, I haven't removed them yet. I was told not to roll down the windows for 2 days, but I actually waited a week. Google said 3-4 days. You can pay an additional $75 (or) so for a warranty which covers things like scratches to the tint caused by you. The tint itself has a lifetime warranty against bubbles, fading, etc. depending on which brand you purchase. Good, Better, Best. I paid $300 for a 4 door hatchback. I'll update should I have any issues. BUT, I have no regrets! My car is now a cozy little capsule that protects me from the sun and brightly shining headlights at night. It was only after getting this car tinted that I noticed my Benz only has tint on the rear windows. Now when I drive it I feel so exposed. I may take that in the have the front windows tinted. Came in to have my windows retinted because they weren't dark enough for me. When they were done it looked great. But 10 days later when I put my drivers window down the tint completely cracked up at the bottom. I know that my contract was voided because I did tint over tint. But I still brought the car back to them to be fixed. Both mangers here were not understanding at all. But the older manager that came from the back was the worst. He continued to shake his head at me while I was talking and just kept yelling you voided your contract. I told them the rest of the car was fine but they should be responsible for them having to do the window again because it was something wrong that they did. When I first came here something kept telling me to go somewhere else. I have always given D&L my business for multiple vehicles and even my father who had over 4 vehicles done there and always told me they were the best of the best for high end vehicles. Unfortunately I received utterly terrible service. I tried leaving a review a long time ago but it seems it didn't post. I brought my Lexus there and even brought them a friend of mine to tint his Acura. I specifically told them to be care of my door panels due to them being delicate. Upon receiving the vehicle, I noticed that all my door panels were cut up by their plastic tools. I ended up calling to speak to the owner Wes who then hung up on me multiple times and told me to f****** sue him then. After paying over 275$ for top of the line service I feel I was treated as an idiot. I have receipts I have pictures and it cost me over 1000$ in repairs. I have not forgotten about my experience that happened almost 2 years ago. Very disappointing and it's not how you do business to repeat customers. I'm not into the car customization thing, but I prefer a slightly darker tint than that of the dealership...so here we go. The location is convenient and the unisex restroom was clean. The waiting are was clean, but the chairs were stained and rather nasty. Ample parking. There is a TV in the waiting area, which was stuck on Fox News for hours. The customer before me was there almost 3 hours. They do okay work, but I will caution you not to get the super dark tint. While was waiting, three people were there to have their tints removed because they were too dark. That process isn't free. My husband says that their work is no better or worse than smaller companies, D&L just has a greater presence in the market. read more

I purchased a lifetime warranty on 3M tint that was installed in my vehicle, and over the years the film had began to gray and no longer matched the factory tint as it once did. I was told to come in and they applied this meter to the film and said nothing was wrong as if I cant see, and refused to honor the warranty. The worker that told me he had worked there for 16 years offered to remove the tint free of charge, and I would have to repurchase tint for the obvious defective tint that was sold to me. Unfortunately I have the same bad experience with D n L Tinting. The only reason I was here is because they are contracted by Ford Alpackers to do customizations. The workmanship is of maybe like a 7 year old kid. Attitude and customer service comparable to a very disrespectful 5 year old kid. The staff are so immature and unable to handle challenges at work. They don't care about customers as soon as you hand them money. For their work on my brand new focus st, they installed racing stripes with matching side mirror covers---all with gloss dark red vinyl. Racing stripes on body is okay but the ones on both side mirrors are just horrendous. It keeps on peeling off (after less than an hour) and really looks like a work of a 7 year old kid. I am not kidding. It is so bad and makes your car standout in cheapiness. They dont offer warranty and keeps on blaming the product and not the workmanship. I went back a couple of times and still wouldn't be able to fix it. They should just admit thay they cannot do it and just return your money. Arrogant people I should say. Some cursing on the side, of course. They should learn to work with the product and not the other way around. I ended up just getting rid of it totally...with no refunds or credit. Paid over 100$ less than a shop quoted me near in york Pa for 3m tint. I went in and was out in 20 mins. No one was there but me so they put 5 guys on my car. They told me it would take 40 minutes but got it done quicker. I have a 2016 challenger that I got all windows tinted and a visor stripe. Car was spotless on the inside after installation and everything looked great. I have taken 6 vehicles here for tinting and one for a hood wrap. Very good tint job on my car with a very affordable price. I looked around the area and these guys were the most inexpensive which made me a bit nervous. When I visited the warehouse it was well lit, large and staff was very helpful. They had a full bay of cars and I was scheduled for the next day. I went to D&L in May to get my wife's 335i convertible tinted. My entire experience here has been TERRIBLE. The quality of work, knowledge of their products and most of all CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS AWFUL. I read the other poor reviews of this place before going and I should have listened. Now I feel like an idiot for giving D&L the benefit of the doubt and wasting my time and money there. The workers here are not even close to professionals and they do not know what they are doing especially with convertibles. The job was done so poorly from the beginning that the tint started peeling right away. (See Pictures) I do want to be honest and mention that I did not get the warranty, but my expectation was that this tint job would last at least one summer; it did not last five minutes after leaving. I left D&L to grab a drink for happy hour and when I returned to my car an hour later the peeling had already started. I called D&L immediately and I was told to bring in my car to have it, "looked at." I fully expected some form of repair, as the job was clearly not done correctly in the first place. This is when the issues really started. The manager came out and took a look at my car and told me it would be $25 to "repair" the window. When I told him the job was not done correctly the first time he became very defensive. He told me that I, "Cheaped Out" by getting the lower price film and that he has no control over the glue and film of this product. I once again mentioned it has nothing to do with the glue or film, it was not installed correctly; this is when he became very aggressive to the point where I had to back up as he was in my face. We stopped at DNL Tinting (2/19/19)on Pulaski highway. we were just going to get the tent on the front windshield visor. But the prices are so reasonable we decided to get our two front door windows on each side tinted also. We were in and out within a half hour. They have a excellent receptionist at the front desk and all their staff is so helpful. They have a nice waiting room with a television for you to watch while you're waiting, which we did not have to watch very long. They are very clean & on point with all their work. We've used before back in 2010 on our old equinox. Now we upgraded to 2019 Equinox. This is one of the best businesses I've ever been in!!! read more

Apparently there is an age limit at this place, if you're over 30, you just get ignored. I just went there, stood in the lobby for 5 minutes (I checked on my cell phone), not one person talked to me. Employees walked by. There was no place to write your name down so they know you're there. Nothing. After at least 5 minutes went by, I walked out. Someone came out after me, but I was done. Emailed company for a quote on both my vehicles. The email came back and said "for both vehicles it will cost $$$" When I went in to get the work done, they said the price was for "each" vehicle, not for both. They need to learn grammar. Anyway, decided to get just one car done. Was given a form to sign which was a disclaimer that if I chose 35% (my research said legal, but didn't account for factory tint) it would be ILLEGAL. I said I was not going to install something I knew to be illegal. The owner, or manager, then started to justify to me that he installs ILLEGAL tint all the time and that the cops have better things to do then pull people over for this. He also said that he has installed ILLEGAL tint on Harford County Sheriffs' cars. That's great, if they get pulled over their brethren aren't giving them a ticket, but my car will get tossed. I think I had a pretty solid experience at D & L. I've seen their White Marsh location for as long as I can remember, next to the go-kart track. Anyways, I went to the Parkville location because it was closer for me, but I didn't need to set an appointment, I just brought the car in and they did it on the spot. And everybody complaining about how expensive it is, I don't know what you're talking about because it's only $100 to get your vehicle tinted any darkness you want. I work in security so I wanted the lowest they offer (5%). My only issue was that it took longer than an hour, I believe it was 2-2.5 hours. However, they were honest with me and told me that one of the sheets of tint on the window didn't settle right and they were re-doing it, and that's what was taking longer. I appreciate s*** like that. You were honest with me, and didn't just give me back the car with a jacked up tint that would mess up in 2 weeks but just passed it along like it was how it was supposed to be. So my only complaint was the time it took compared to the time I was told it was going to take, but the quality of the work and tint material is top notch and I'm very satisfied with my experience with D & L. read more

I came hear on a Wednesday morning to remove my tint. I felt like the cost was way to expensive to take the tint but I still payed the price. I needed the tint off to pass my inspection, now the people that inspect my car the first time told me that I had a tint on my back window I found out that I don't have tint on the back window it's smoke glass from the dealer. So I call the guy at the inspection place to tell him that I do not have tint on my back window but he was very rude telling me that the deal wouldn't do that and he know what he's talking about and if I bring my car there I was still going to fail so I ask him do you want me to break out the window so I can pass lol so at this point I am so frustrated so I talked to the lady Athena she called them for me they also gave her a hard way to got but she got them to understand I didn't have tint on my car so I want to thank Mrs. Athena. I rate this place 5 stars because she went above and beyond to help her customer and that really wasn't her job.
