besides the great reviews it's genuinely extremely overpriced here for the bad work they do they charged me big money for a two door wasn't a problem if the job was done well done, it wasn't my back window was extremely bubbly and both my doors were bubbly and peeling and even my windshield so basically my whole car was as if they had a new guy do it, I called the shop and they said i had a full warranty i show up they have some guy take my car in who looks extremely frustrated that he has to do the job as he's opening my car, they give me back my car windshield tint somewhat fixed still left a massive stripe in my tint around my mirror and back window is definitely bubbly the did fully replace my right side door though and the person who did it did a amazing job and it looks nothing like the rest of the car almost not sure if this was a training issue but it wasted tons of my time for nothing read more

Delightful place. Staff and owner extremely friendly and accommodating. My kid was asleep in the back car and they were very patient and kind. Even gave my son animal crackers while we waited and had a kids table with things for him to play with while we waited, which I've never seen in any car service place. Absolutely family friendly and I left happy from the kindness that was extended to me during my hour here. Plus my tints look great and with quality 3M film I hope they hold up. Bathroom was welcoming and clean too. Will update as necessary but definitely recommend this place. They add 3% fee for using cc which I wish they told me before paying, hence the 4 stars because I think it's fair to be up front about those charges but still happy overall! read more

I went to D&L to have my windows done. I have been going to them for years and this was the worst service yet. I paid $400 to get my 4 doors done there were bubbles on every door I waited a week before I went back and the guy " fixed them in 5 minutes" he told me to give it another 1.5 -2 weeks since the weather hasn't been good with the rain but I guess I am just a dummy since they do tint in the winter and it isn't hot out or very sunny either don't waste your time very rude people and argumentative. read more

Prices are competitive and the service is excellent. Others in the area quote 2hr plus waits and here I was in and out on a Saturday in less than an hour. Only warning is if you use a credit card it's a 3.5% upcharge. Crazy! However there is an ATM there which charges 1.5% which is obviously better. Comfortable big waiting room. I wanted to get my new car tinted professionally. I travel to FL for two week, during the summer, for vacation. The heat and sun is unbearable but the tinting has helped tremendously. My experience at D & L Tinting was great! The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I had a ton of questions and they were very patient with me. The price and tinting options were wonderful. I have had all my cars for the last 20+ years tinted at D&L I have had one window redone ever. Had my new SUV done Driver side was done well. Passenger side had issues with every window including a large obvious tear that ripped when the window was moved. Giving how bad the entire side was and that I had to bring it back I wanted at least my front window not to have large defects. I wasn't complaining about the multiple bubbles on the back windows and only complained about the approximately inch oval mark/ bubble on the front window. I was greeted by the owner well not greeted I was asked what DID I NEED and was told they would not fix it again. He also told me that Ceramic film sucks and started rambling about how he can find 10+ flaws on my new vehicle. I don't know what the owner has going on I used to chat with him and have great conversation and I didn't believe some of the reviews I have seen saying he was berating people and treating his employees poorly. However with how he talked to me unfortunately it is obvious things have changed. His son who was working at the desk helping another customer even said although his dad wasn't abrupt with me they still took care of his problem. Not the sales pitch I would take. Thought maybe I'd try to get two things done at once and discuss a wrap on my vehicle and window tint at my house when it's done being built but instead after spending just shy of $900 I'll never step inside there again. Also have some damage to the rear window plastic where it looks like something rubbed the edge ( if not a tool a ring with an edge) of the window frame but not worth the headache to even mention it hoping I can find a way to repair it. Side note the manager I think Frank was great when I dealt with him. I don't write reviews but suggest reading the negative ones here. You might be ok if everyone takes there time doing your car when you go but if you have problems expect to be belittled and told the premium product you paid for is crap. Go somewhere that may take a little bit longer or you need to make an appointment and you will probably save some money as well. They believe multiple large bubbles is the normal when tinting windows. read more

Buyer beware. I had to come in 3 times to redo multiple windows because they couldn't seem to remove the dirt and glue from the prior redos. and after the 3rd visit, the manager said that because of stains I have on my CAR SEAT, he cannot remove the dirt and redo the rear windshield. He then proceeded to exclaim that his work was acceptable and it's the best I will find in town. He also said we are NOT a detailing service and that little dirt specs WILL be left under the tint. Check the photos below and decide for yourself if this work is "acceptable". These photos are from WEEKS after installation. My question is, if permanent air/dirt bubbles are acceptable and such a common thing, why not put it anywhere in the warranty or policy to let people know? Oh because you wouldn't get customers. This is a premium tint as well called "obsidian". If your looking for a professional tint installation, avoid D&L at all costs. read more

I asked for recommendations on what tint to get on my car so my windows would be dark an not as see through, I got my car done twice an it still wasn't what I wanted. So once again I'm one of there unsatisfied customers. No help what so ever with the problem, just money wasted an pissed seeing other car look how I wanted my car to look. read more

Update: The owner, Wes, personally reached out to me with a handwritten and remorseful apology. I appreciate the effort and accept the said apology. My 15-year-old son and I came to D and L to have my windows tinted last week. At first, the owner Wes was helpful and knowledgeable in guiding my decision. Then we witnessed him not once but twice berate an employee. The first time we were in the waiting room, so maybe he didn't know we were there - but he pulled the employee into the bathroom and said/yelled vulgar things to him, smacked the brim of his hat because of "dribble on the toilet seat" that hhmmm "sir how do you know that it was me??" - let me give him the benefit of the doubt for this encounter that he didn't know my son and I were there, but honestly, who behaves like that in a professional setting? Then we were brought back to the workshop area to inspect my car. As my technician was trying to explain to me what I needed to do and watch for, I was unable to listen to him because Wes (the owner of this establishment) once again started yelling at the same employee, physically took his hat, and threw it across the workshop where we were all standing, this time definitely knowing full well that we were there. Not one employee in this area blinked an eye at this behavior. I made a comment about it to my technician and he wasn't even phased by this. I do not care about the circumstances that arose leading up to this outburst. The fact that this human had the nerve to treat an employee like this in general but also in front of paying customers, and most importantly my 15-year-old son is inexcusable. The employees have made the choice to work for this man - I however did not choose to have my son witness this level of indecency. I will never use this business again and I will not recommend this business to anyone. Sir- you should be ashamed of yourself (although I know you are not, I imagine you were quite proud of the bullying that you did). All I can hope is that my son has witnessed how to not treat people and to not work for abusive individuals such as yourself. read more

I spent 180 dollars for detail.. and my car wasn't fully cleaned.. they didn't even watch my seats.. I spoke to the detailer directly. And he said he did wash my seats. But said he'll do them over again.. basically he lied to me ,my seats didn't look cleaned at all.. and my car wasn't waxed .. The auto detailer told me to come on a different day at 5pm and he'll waxed my car then.. which I did. While I was there, I pointed out that my center console wasn't wash and my seat trims, fronts and rears and my windshield. . Which SHOULDN'T take long to wash.. so he washed all these car components of which I noticed weren't touched at all for the 180 DOLLAR detailed I paid for.. 20 MIN later he then said again he doesn't have time to wax my car and told me to come a different day again.. And so I came back here for the third time to get my car waxed. And again the detailer said he is extremely busy .. and so he scheduled me for Saturday to get my car waxed at 8am .. On Saturday I woke up late.. and I didn't get there till 11:30 .. which is my fault.. .. when I got there they said I have to come back next Saturday, which did not sit well with me.. Especially since it wasn't busy at all that day, there was only one customer in the waiting area, and I saw 4 detailers who weren't doing anything in the shop.. literally I saw 4 of them who were just standing around.. The owner of the company was there and so I explained my grievances to him of which he turn around and said it's my fault.. which Didn't sit well with me, Especially when I came on time for the three previous appointments. And still didn't get what I paid for.. So while I was discussing the issue of how bad of a service I recieved, he then told me to shut up. . Yeah that's right .. me the customer who paid 180 dollars for a detail and got rescheduled 3 times was told to shut up. By the owner.. and that's when I started to get loud with then and yelling. .. Honestly I think the owner is a racist, I don't like playing the race card but my treatment at this place after I paid 180 dollars didn't make since to me.. And since the owner is an older white male(50 yrs old plus) and I'm a younger black male. It's getting difficult not to think that he is a bigot. . Finally the owner said he will personally wax my car and I said fine.. I waited in,the lobby with the one customer they had at the time and I started to,vent and said this is the worst customer service I have ever received. . Of which the owner got wind of me still complaining and he told me to leave and he won't wax my vehicle after I paid for it.. Which now he then rationalize that he gave me a chance to keep quite..... The nerve of this guy.. I'm the customer, and I'm well with in my rights to vent about the poor service your company provided. FINALLY I SAID I'M NOT LEAVING UNTIL I GET REIMBURSED FOR THE SERVICES OF WHICH YOU DIDN'T PROVIDE. . AND SO HE REIMBURSED ME 50 DOLLARS SINCE HE DIDN'T WAX MY VEHICLE.. Of which I don't think was the full price of getting my car waxed.. Oh and here is the icing on the cake.. The Owner knows I work for Comcast and said he knows the local VP or some one of importance of comacst. And he will report me to the company of how rude I am to get me fired... Yep , You read correctly, they were refusing to service my vehicle of which I paid for and then they will call the company I work for to report that I'm rude because I complained about the terrible service of which they provided. .. D & L Window Tinting - 180 dollar charge and extremely disappointed with the results - Car Window Tinting Near Me - White Marsh, Maryland

I went to get my new car tinted and ended up with a botched job with bubbles and wrinkles everywhere. This is because when they put on the tint, there is a person on each window doing just that one window. This makes for a very inconsistent job. They also rush through the job like an assembly machine and get you in and out at the cost of quality. The "technicians" are also mostly teenage kids who look like they're still in high school. Hardly a professional. Furthermore they cut some of my weatherstripping on my window which caused an unbearable schreeching sound. I went back to have it repaired under their "warrenty." The manager then told me to meet him outside (i'm guessing so that none of the other customers in the waiting area would witness their "customer service"). When we went out and looked at the botched job he said that some bubbling was normal and to wait a few days and that there was no way his "professionals" damaged the weatherstripping. Keep in mind that this was a brand new car I had just bought a week ago from the dealer. I then asked if I could talk to his supervisor. He then replied "why don't you go back to your own country - maybe they can do a better job over there." I asked to speak to his manager to which he replied that he was the manager. I asked to speak with the owner and at that point he got worried and told me to get the **** off the property and went back into his office. Needless to say I was shocked - one minute I'm trying to get the tint job I paid $250+ for fixed and next I'm verbally assaulted. I didn't feel like dealing with this garbage so I ended up getting my car fixed elsewhere. In response to Elliott P. - I'm not sure which other reviews you're talking about - but yes I do make sure that people are well informed about what I experienced, kind of the point of Yelp no? Perhaps their service has gotten better since then. Feel free to give it a try. I'm just giving an account of what happened. Your money. Caveat emptor. P.S. they do use 3M film for me, but that wasn't what was expensive - it was the labor they charge. Most all shops use 3M, Llumar or other quality films. D&L has been recommended to me by several different car enthusiasts in Baltimore, and has been around for quite some time. I fully trust my car to them. I had an issue where something didn't seal properly, and they replaced the whole thing no problem. They have all the best 3M films that the cheaper places don't sell. Tinting isn't cheap, or at least, may not be a cheap as you'd expect. But, I promise you that the gentlemen at D&L do a good job. Now, James' review is disparaging to say the least. However, if you look at his profile, he as copied the exact review for several other D&L branches. I highly doubt he was actually assaulted and had his civil rights so incredibly violated. But, I cannot say that for certain. I do think it is a suspect review considering he plugs a competitor in his review. If you need more backup for D&L's good service, ask you local collision repair center. Odds are they've heard of D&L and know about their solid reputation. read more

I have utilized the services of D & L Window Tinting in White Marsh, MD on my last 5 cars. I have been happy with their service until my most recent visit. The shop was extremely busy on the day I had my work completed and the technicians were definitely rushing the work. I have been happy with the finished product, but they made an absolute mess inside my vehicle and did not clean it up. I feel that if you are going to perform this type of work, and charge me approximately $200.00 to apply tint to a 4 door sedan, the very least you could do is clean up after the work is complete. I had my windows tinted at D & L about 3 years ago. I wanted a dark tint but not drug dealer dark just dark enough so those undesirable friends cant make you out driving down eastern ave. They hooked me up with some premium 3M tint film and did a very good job installing it. A little pricey but so were all other options... Great customer service. This is my 3rd tint job that I have had done there in the past 10 years. I did have a minor set back (not worth mentioning) with the tint I got on my car two weeks ago. The manager (Wes) and and all the staff were more than accommodating to fix the problem. They are straight forward and explain everything to you and even show you examples. I just realized a few days back that it's been more than a decade since I had my windows tinted at D&L. I'm still driving the same car and my tint has never chipped, peeled, bubbled, or turned purple for 10 Maryland and South Carolina summers. I had two windows in front tinted on a new purchase. When they finished I noticed damage around the window trim and missing two bigger spots between windows, the area around the windows looked like it was not cleaned after the tinting. I spoke to the manager who denied what I told him, and said normal wear, never said let's talk to the person who did the job, just said we didn't do the damage. The car was garage kept and perfect till they did the tinting. The manager said he is the only superior, he then called the body shop where I went to get my estimate on the damage they had done. Worst experience, had to return 3 times to get problem corrected, vinyl decals falling off, unprofessional manager Frank called me a f___ing cry baby for cocomplaining. Spent 840.00 and job and customer service is horrible. Response from company not accurate, was quoted 700 when job completed they tried to charge 750, installed front 2 window vents wrong backwards had to get owner to have that corrected. Took advantage of my teenage son he asked for 20% tint they upcharged the brand of film used charged almost 300.00 to do a 2 door challenger and that didn't include the windshield strip or sunroof, we were quoted a much lower amount when we purchased the gift certificate for Christmas. This review is nearly 8 years late, but I'll do it nevertheless. Got my car tinted here, and I must say that after nearly 8 years, the tint does look good. Hasn't faded from what I can tell, no peeling, no nothing. The problem was on the install. The piece on the back window obviously got stuck together or creased or something, because it looked awful on the way home. I brought it back the next day hoping for a whole new piece, they wouldn't do that. They just brought out some little plastic squeegee thing and rubbed the hell out of it, leaving scrape marks all around the creased tint. 8 years later, it still bothers me. read more

I decided to have my windows tinted here even though they were the most expensive shop that quoted me. I figured their lifetime warranty was worth the extra price.... WRONG! My back window started to bubble after less then a year so I brought my car back in with my extended warranty paperwork in hand. The lady in the office told me my warranty was no good since they no longer carried that brand of tint because of problems with it bubbling. They told me the only thing they would do is wave the fee to remove my old tint but I would have to pay for all new tint. They are a joke and the so called warranty they sell you isn't worth the paper its printed on. Save yourself the time and money and get your windows tinted elsewhere. read more

Job was rushed, windows left very wet, which seeped into the window well and left a musty smell in my new car. They had to redo the windshield during the visit, which added to my wait time, but at least they did it. One window was not firmly applied, but owner wouldn't replace during my visit and said "sorry buddy, we're closed, you'll have to come back." It's an hour round-trip. They trimmed off the part that was dog-eared, and I'll just live with it even though it looks different than the other windows, rather than going back to this place. The worst part is that they scraped off my parking permit but didn't alert me about it or return it. I didn't notice it missing until after I got a parking ticket right outside my home. Anyway, I called them up to let them know about it, though I wasn't asking for anything, just wanted to see if they might have still had it. The courteous attendant put me on hold and came back to apologize that they should have given it to me, but said that it's mentioned in the "paperwork." She went on to say, again, without me asking, that the manager told her there's nothing they would do and they wouldn't pay the fine. So I told her this was the second time they messed up with me and I'd post some negative reviews online about my experiences. When you spend a premium (over $700) for top of the line 3M crystalline tinting as I did, which overall I like, you expect much better. Now I've got to add the cost of a new permit AND a parking ticket to this amount. If they are professionals, and on their website they justify their much higher prices based on that exact claim, they should treat customers professionally and do a thorough job, not blame or inconvenience the customer. If they had done so, I wouldn't be posting this review. Go somewhere else, if no other reason than to punish such arrogance. read more

Great experience! I had two vehicles done, one was a front end body paint protection wrap. They took the time to make sure the film was installed correctly, and repaired all bubbles prior to us shipping the car to Florida. My second vehicle was a re-tint due to a seat belt scratch. Not only did they reinstall the driver's side with the scratch, they also took the time to do the passenger side so that everything matched. Can't say enough about the customer service. They definitely take the time to make sure everything is done right! read more
