I've been fortunate enough to have D&O services for over 2 decades. Their drivers, and customer service representatives are phenomenal. They're consistent with timing and communication. When I've needed assistance with large hall items, they're great to help me assess what the pricing is and are quick to get it scheduled. Very grateful for D&O! read more

There was an ice storm for 3 days. Our garbage was delayed for 1 whole week. We couldn't put it outside because raccoons tear up our bags if we do that. We had to have 3 bags of kitchen scraps and cat crap in our laundry room for a week. Then they said our recycling would be skipped and picked up in a MONTH. Oh, but don't worry, they allow for extra recycles to be put out (S). The ice storm was 3 days, THREE days. How do you justify a month long delay caused by a 3 day ice storm. The garbage collection service is fine but, unlike other collection services, they do not offer a once a year special curb pick up. Their billing service is extremely difficult to understand and your online account does not detail what services you are paying for. And when they have a rate increase, good luck trying to figure out what they new rate will be. They break the new rates down by type of service but, if you don't know what you actually have, you won't know your new rate until you see it when it is in effect. read more

Honest and fair. We moved here a year ago. They let us know when we put something that wasn't to go in the recycling. They've helped when we had all the stumps from the storm. It was easy to get a container with no contact do to covid. People were nice on the phone. read more

This company clearly doesn't get it. Zero customer service skills. They routinely call their customers and chastise them for putting recyclable materials in the recycle bin, then threaten to fine you extra of it happens again. They never credit you for missing a pick up even after going 2 months straight without taking your trash. They call 5 months after the fact to tell you they forgot to charge for an extra fee and will be charging you now. Worst trash service company I have ever had. Of course that's not saying much, the bar is pretty low and they can't even beat that. read more

D&O Garbage always goes the extra mile, most recent on the Fourth of July. The night before, I set out the grey garbage and meant to set out the green (overflowing) yard debris at the curb to be hauled away as scheduled. The blue recycling bin was scheduled for pick up the following week. The problem was that I had mistakenly filled the recycling bin with yard debris, and vice versa. In the dark, I placed the bin with yard debris at the curb, but did not notice it was in the blue recycling bin. In the morning, the yard debris truck drove on by, properly leaving my blue recycling bin for next week. Later that morning, I discovered my error. As I was switching the full contents of the yard debris to be hauled away next week, another D&O truck came. The driver asked what I was doing. When he found out I needed my yard debris emptied, he said the yard debris truck had already been by, and he could not empty the yard debris in his truck, because he was hauling garbage. But, he said he would try to get the yard debris truck to come back by and empty that bin, so it would not remain full for another week. A few minutes later, the truck came back to haul away the correctly contents of my correctly filled yard debris. Yay! For more than 35 years they've hauled away from my house whatever I have properly set out for them. How grand that they came back to haul away even what I messed up. And, how grand that they hauled anything away on the Fourth of July. read more

Had to order a 10 yard container and went in to their location. Super friendly staff which made this an easy task. Driver did a great job placing it in a tight area and when I needed it picked up and another dropped off, it was done that day. I'll be using that service again soon so thx D&O read more

I will give them one star because I have to to post, but they really should get no stars because they are HORRIBLE! After suffering severe health issues and losing my income, I knew I would not be able to continue service but after being a customer with them for 19 years, I figured we could work something out. A payment plan or maybe they could just hold the bill for a few months until my disability came through. They said no and came to pick up my cans over 56.20. Fine. Then when my disability came through, I called them as promised, and they had turned me over to collections even though I repeatedly had kept in touch with them. I told them I would not pay the collection fee since I had never even talked to anyone about collections and I was never notified that it even went to collections despite my repeated calls. I was told if I paid the $56.20 and $29.95 redeliver fees for the cans they would deliver the cans and restart my service so I paid and they brought the cans. Next I get a call saying that I have to prepay my two months of service which sounded fair but they charged me $87.50 instead of the $59.00 that it was supposed to be. I was in the middle of serious health issues, needed trash service, so I let it go, but this was already $173.65 for a past due bill of $56.20 all paid off in March and with the two months prepaid, that would have paid for April and May. This all happened in two days. Then two weeks later on April 1st, they call and say that they need another $14.75 to "balance out my billing cycle". So I pay that too and confirm with them that I will not have have another bill due until June 15th. Next thing I know I get home from the hospital to find a bill saying I am past due as of June 10th for $114 and that my service would be interrupted. I got this Wednesday evening (July 3rd), the night before the holiday. This left me no choice but to file a report online with the Better Business Bureau because I was so mad. I should have been resting. On Thursday (the 4rth of July) they leave me a message saying to call them before 2:00 pm that day. I didn't get it until 4:30pm. The next morning I wake up to a guy taking my cans. Turns out when they turned me over to collections originally, they included the amount for the next two months (since they prebill two months), even though they had already stopped my service and took my cans. This is common practice for them. They also admitted on the phone that I only now owe them $22.40 for June and that is what they took the cans over despite the past due bill they sent me for $114. This place is so confused and jacked on their billing, if you are constantly having issues with them, this is why! I am a disabled single mother facing a terminal illness and I have spent WAY too many hours trying to deal with this ridiculous company while fighting for my life. Do yourself a favor and make other arrangements now and DON"T get involved with this company who cares nothing about they community they serve! read more

So for those out there trying to figure out the great mystery behind "recycle or not recycle". My wife receives a phone call from the D and O. I identifying they will have to cite us for a pizza box in our recycling bin. So my wife retorts isn't cardboard and acceptable for recycling. The representative responds yes and no. That if your pizza box has oil on it then no but if it is clean than yes. Please explain to me anyone who has ever had a clean pizza box after ordering pizza. This incredible caper expanded in dialogue by asking did the trash police open the box and validate that the pizza box was dirty? And the trash police responded and I quote " It is uncertain at this time the driver checked the pizza box but cited it was dirty" end quote. I'm not quite sure how one determines the cleanliness of a box as its being dumped into a dump truck but apparently we have marvel superheroes with pizza vision employed at the disposal company. It is good to know that our local utility services are finding every way possible to discourage the general public from recycling in Oregon. I'm sure our growing landfills appreciate your discriminating taste. read more

D&O Garbage is prompt and clean - I don't find stuff on the road after pickup. They have always been very helpful to us as seniors -

I'm not used to having such incredible service, having come from the Bay Area in California where you don't even get a live person to talk to. I've now had three experiences in about four months with these guys. They are so responsive and so efficient and quick. Super friendly, and just fantastic customer service. I've mostly dealt with Stefanie, but there was another gal that helped me a couple months ago who was just as helpful. read more

Some weeks they are great but oyher weeks they don't pick up our trash can. They will pick up ours and not the neighbors or vice versa. And they will leave nasty grams on your trash can because a car is too close to them. Mind you the car is not ours and it has happened several times. read more
