Needed a replacement cowl for my old outboard. Good friend of mine recommended D&R so I gave them a call. They told me they had a couple different ones and were sure one would fit. Quoted me a price on the phone that was reasonable, so I headed to Rodeo. Got there and showed them my motor. Was fixed up with the right cowl in a few minutes and got a little education about my motor as a side benefit. Price came in a bit lower than I was quoted. I have been trying to reach these guys by phone and email for two days. I tried ordering directly through the site and after going through all the questions; it comes back with a 505 Error code. This is on two separate items by the way. Phone is not answered, voicemail is full; what a joke. I saw on the different boards that these guys were pitifully bad, but I had to find out for myself. However, they made me a believer. If I do hear from them at some point and there is a logical reason for the poor business practices, I will remove this review. Everyone is entitled to make things right. We'll see what happens. As I said I would adjust this review if I ever heard from D&R; well, I did. a few days later a Rudy returned my call, took my order and shipped my parts same day. I received them quickly and the parts were perfect. So I changed my review to an Okay status as once I reached them, they performed perfectly. Fair is fair when it comes to reviews. read more

Can't get a better and honest service more than D&R Marine. They had re-seal my lower unit for my Mercury Optimax 135, they did a great job and were quick too! My boat was ready in 1 day. Very appreciate you guys thanks a lot. Will definitely back for future maintenance. read more

Tried them out based on other reviews and a recommendation. Took my 90 hp Mercury in with a serious issue running ruff if at all but not every time it was started. They checked it out and couldn't duplicate the problem but did some other needed maintenance as I requested. Took the boat out and it ran well for a while then the problem repeated itself. Took it back and they did some further diagnoses and fixed it. Turned out to be a sporadically bad solenoid fuel valve not readily accessible. I was only charged for the part on the second visit. I now have a place to take my boat and outboard. read more

I used to have an 1970 Coyote and he done everything to it including selling to a local guy for me. he worked on my 1994 Sea Ray Special Edition since day one. I called Richie on Tuesday. He didn't call back until the next day and he said he was too busy to help me. However, he did finally make the time for me and did a good job and was knowledgable. However, I have used him since and he has been very unreliable. I think with mobile boat mechanics, this is kinda the norm but its still frustrating. When called in for oil change was told that no appointment available in nearest future. And was offered to come in anyhow for the instructions how to change it myself. Changing oil on my car all the time I decided why can't I change it on my boat motor. So, I stoped by and was very pleased with my visit. Spoke with Duanne and was given good info. Thank you. I've been here a few times, they do great work Dwaine fixed our boat after we purchased it. The jerk who sold us the boat sold it to us with a blown exhaust manifolds and leaking seals. This was my second time dealing withand D&R and i thought I could count on him since he did a good job but on the second boat not so good pretty bad after having my boat 7 months and charging me a pretty penny the first time i take the boat on the water everything worked fine for 30 sec when my engine started sputtering managed to get back to dock after checking fuel filter found out it was full of crud so thinking that might be a oversite i clean out gas tank and replace filter take it back to water and boat runs good for about 10 minutes sputters out and wont start again had to be towed in this to me is unacceptable after 7 mo and a pretty penny I would think my boat would be in order really mixed feelings about this place don't like the fact that D&R had me stranded on the water not good read more

I can't say enough good things about D&R Marine. Duane has been in the boat repair game since 1973 and knows his boats. I brought him an out drive that nobody else in the area would work on (OMC 225). They were backed up with work for several weeks but offered me to bring the boat down, they would pull the out drive, repair it and reinstall it back on the boat when they were finished with it. The next closest shop I could find to work in it was in Elk Grove. They performed the repair just as promised and kept all the old parts to show me when I came back. Duane and Dan were very friendly both times I was there. I wouldn't take my boat anywhere else for repairs. read more

I called back in October 2015 to make an appointment to service my boat. I gave them my model number so they could order parts. I brought my boat in to get service in November. When I arrived they were surprised and we're not expecting me. Dwaine told me it would be done the next day, Tuesday. I called on Thursday and was told the parts hadn't come in yet. I called again on Saturday and the guy on the phone was rude and told me the same thing, parts hadn't come in yet. He told me it didn't matter to him if I just picked up my boat, which I did.
