They have absolutely ruined my car. I first took my car to…read moreget it looked at because I had just bought it from a private dealer and wanted to make sure everything was good. Midas gave me a whole list of things that needed to be fixed which was a total of $2k in repairs. I believed them even tho the car was showing no signs of having problems. I took my car in a second time to have the brakes changed since they said they needed to be replaced which was a cost of $540, when I got my car back I started noticing a weird sound coming from my tires. I then brought my car in again to get the thermostat and cam shaft sensors fixed since they said it needed fixing, I told them about the sound I had been hearing in my tires ever since they changed my brakes and they said they will take a look at it. I took the car in at 1130 and waited all day, it wasn't until 5pm when I went back and asked for an update and they then told me that they broke something in the car so the car had to stay overnight because it was going to take a while to get the piece they got stuck in there out. They gave me a loan car at no cost and was told I can pick my car up the next day. The next day I went and paid $909 for those repairs, they told me nothing was wrong with the brakes so I took my car home but I noticed the sound on the tires got way worse. When I turned on my car the next time after taking it home, my car was having trouble turning on. I took the car back to Midas to get it looked at because that sound in the tired was horrible and my car kept sputtering trying to turn on. They told me they took the car apart and nothing was wrong with the brakes again but that they found a new issue with the car that was going to be a $1k repair. The day after they checked the car, I am driving down the freeway and my car starts beeping and a light turned on in the dash so I immediately pulled over and noticed smoke coming out of the front of my car. We were ready to get the car towed when luckily a police officer pulled behind us and took a look at the car and noticed the tube that connects the coolant to the engine was not plugged in which caused all of my coolant to leak out. My car was not perfect when I took it to Midas but ever since they touched my car, my car has been worse off. I genuinely feel like they have been ripping me and my husband off, and rather than fixing things they told me was wrong, they have broken my car.

If I did call, I would record the call as I have every legal right to do in New York State. I do that all of the time with fraudulent companies. When Mavis fraudulently repaired my front brakes, I spoke with the Regional Manager by phone. He denied any culpability. Then, I filed a complaint with the DMV. They did nothing because I had asked that Mavis be closed down. Since the DMV could not close them down without numerous complaints, they dropped it. So, everyone who reads this and has been defrauded by Mavis, file a complaint with the DMV. If enough people file complaints, New York State will take action against Mavis' huge fraud. Let's band together to stand up for our rights and stop Mavis from hurting people. So, when they got around to it, they pulled the front wheels and showed me my brakes. As I said, they were fine. About a year later, I was still hearing a noise. I finally found out what the noise was that I originally went to Mavis for. It turns out that it was the rear brakes. Mavis never even checked them. I have been riding on the original rear brakes since I bought my car. My car is a 2012 Toyota Yaris. When I told the new service center about the noise, they figured out over the phone what was wrong and then told me to drive very carefully because this could be dangerous. When they took the wheels off and opened the drums of my rear brakes, I asked to take pictures. They let me do so. Everything was rusted down to nothing. So, Mavis let me drive on these and instead repaired what did not need to be repaired. This is outrageous! I warn you DO NOT GO TO MAVIS DISCOUNT TIRE for your own safety. They are a very poor excuse for a repair shop. Going to Mavis can risk your safety or even your life. Check out my pictures of my rear brakes. Mavis never even looked at them. They were too busy trying to find an excuse to charge me lots of money for something that didn't need to be done.

I wish I could give them zero stars. They've had our vehicle for 13 days. It typically takes 3-4…read moredays for the job they are doing (or not doing) and have given numerous excuses why it's taking so long. The time it's taking has nothing to do with parts or the vehicle it has to do with their work ethic and lack of hiring decent mechanics. I would never recommend them nor speak well of them again. What would one do if this was their only vehicle? Rent, walk, Uber? Meanwhile we will pay a fortune and suffer the wear and tear and other costs of using another vehicle. No loss to them though. Anyone that's rating their service better didn't have major work done. An update is necessary, I was really upset at the time it took but now I understand better. We received the car back yesterday and today it was leaking fluid again (no fault of AAMCO) and we had to return to the shop. I was really angry and probably a bit ridiculous. Paul did come out to speak to us and explained the problem and I became more familiar. We are a one car family without the vehicle things have been extremely hectic. Paul offered a rental until the problem was fixed and that was very kind of him. I appreciate his understanding of our situation and his offer to help. Each week, they would say, "Oh, it'll be done next week," but it never was. Then, after they fixed it, it blew up again because of their fault. Now, a month later, they haven't touched it and keep saying, "Next week, next week." They don't answer the phone and don't call back when we leave a message.
