Review # 64/2019; #470 Fast glasses and more specialize in Glasses and Mirrors for homes. Thought I had to replace a few windows and turned out, all I needed was to replace glasses (inside the wood panes)...a service that FG&M specializes in. +++. Services they provide are mirrors, glasses inside windows, shower glasses / doors and more. FG&M is the only one that locally manufactures their glasses and mirrors of the four providers that I met with. The other three buy the glasses from distributors. Glen the owner came out to measure my glasses / windows and identified the type of glass replacement I needed. He was very knowledgeable and advised me of the culprit with my windows. Glen also shared with me how their manufacturing process prevents the failure I experienced with my existing windows. From the order to install took about a week which is about 1/2 the lead time than other providers. Two men came out to install...Ricky had been taught by Glen and has been with FG&M for more than a decade. They took care and about 2 hours to install several glasses. I was afraid that my round wood trim might break but they did it carefully enough that they were able to put everything back like it was before! Also, the other man whose name escapes me kindly remedied a shower door problem I had :-). + Price is competitive...they were the highest but all were within 10% of the bids. I spoke with Paul, the pricing man and he removed an error that was in the quote and were within $30 of their competitor. Their warranty is 7 years compared with 10 years from others. Apparently, most manufacturers are 5 years and the distributors augment additional to 10 years. Since I went directly to the manufacturer and FG&M only to 7 years, I charged my glasses on a credit card that extends the warranty to 9 years. Overall, I went with FG&M because they are a local one stop shop from measuring, manufacturing to install and I appreciated the knowledge Glen shared. I figured if the owner understood the problem and knew how to prevent it, then I would be better off with them than getting glasses from elsewhere. Another factor to consider was the lead time and if you need it sooner than 2 weeks, they are the only ones that could. I'm happy with my glass replacement experience with FG&M as they exceeded my expectation. You know that's not easy to do ;-) This one's a keeper! read more

My experience with these guys was so good, I am almost looking forward to breaking another one of my custom made windows. Well almost - lol. I never knew something like this could be this easy fast and well done and reasonably priced. I had no idea how I was going to get this window fixed, that had a seal broken from the house painters pressure washer. I tried going to companies that specialize in windows - and this was a job that no one really seemed to want. Only one window? This was looking to cost me five weeks in time and a lot of money. Just for one window? A contractor friend of mine recommended Fast Glass. So I called Fast Glass on a Monday morning and they were there Tuesday afternoon to measure the window and by Thursday afternoon they had it installed. And installed perfectly It was a large custom fabricated window of an odd design three stories above ground and 12 feet high in the bathroom. They did not even disturb the paint job around the frame. You cannot tell that the window was ever replaced and it perfectly matches to the window next to it. So there was not much room for error. And the price was much less than I expected. And the people that I dealt with were just awesome. Very friendly, knowledgeable and very respectful on how they operated in my home. And no - I've never dealt with this company before and didn't know anybody that worked there. But I could not be more thrilled with the type of custom-made high quality work they can do. read more

I chose this business to have mirrors cut and glued in my elephant frames because of the good reviews. However, I would give them a zero if it were an option because they cut the glass but did NOT glue them to the frames. See pics. M8y cue not to use this business was how the young lady looked at me and my husband when we walked in as her face expressed the thought, "what are you doing here" but I will just say that we didn't feel welcome at the onset. Anyway, my husband expressed that we needed the mirrors replaced in the elephant frames and she replied that it would be $52. Now I've have many pictures framed and thought the price to be on the high end but we had driven quite a way in the cold rain so we just left the two frames to be repaired. Well here is the kicker, two days later, my husband went back to pay and pick up the frames and one of the workers brought the wrapped frames in the same box that we dropped them off in. Now when I got ready to hang them, I unwrapped the plastic wrap from around the frame and lo and behold, the mirrors were not even GLUED to the frames!!! I'm just glad that I unwrapped the first one carefully or the glass would have dropped on the floor then I would have been in the same predicament that I was in before taking the frames to them. I will just say for $52, this was just mean and dirty. It would have been better if they would have said they just didn't want our business and better yet, if we had gone with our instincts from the young lady's nice but nasty attitude upon our entering the business and just not left them there for repair. read more

Fast Glass will answer your phone call or call you back almost immediately; such a rarity in this business. They also were 15% less expensive than the other 4 estimates I received. The quality of work is excellent. Mike, the guy who did my job, found that my window was missing a little part that did a major job of connecting the window to its motor. He actually went to a salvage yard to pick the part, saving me more than $100. Nothing extra, just part of his quality work. Fast glass replaced the windshield in my motorhome two months ago. I hit a bump two days ago and the new windshield broke. I have $1000 deductible and can't afford this. I went to their office to see what they could do to help me. The person I spoke to was busy " thumbing " her IPhone , and without ever looking up, explained that they could do nothing. I would have to buy a new windshield. Luckily enough, I was able to walk out without having disturbing her texting. read more

I obtained several quotes and chose Fast Glass to handle the replacement of 38 (Argh!) panes of failed insulated glass in my home. Every window was custom and required a lot of special fabrication for the glass to fit properly. I was very surprised at the extremely broad range of prices but the Fast Glass quote was reasonable and I liked what I heard about the company so I rolled the dice. The glass sizes ranged from 12 x 18 to 36 x 72, mostly wood windows and wood French doors, the largest pane being a metal greenhouse window that was a very difficult installation. (The owner came out and handled that one personally.) The installation did not go without a few challenges, but Fast Glass was great throughout the process. If panes needed to be refabricated and reinstalled they were on top of it, no complaints and no extra charges. I was very happy with their work and with their service. Would I use them again? Things started out well with Ricky (who seemed to know what he was talking about) during the first visit. I was very specific in communicating that I was looking to replace the 1/4" single pane windows in the master bedroom with double pane low E glass. The goal was to make the room more insulated from hot/cold temperatures as well as the outside noise- (my home is near I75 and close-by backyard neighbors). Ricky said is would do that. Next one guy came out to measure and didn't know what he was doing, so he called someone else. Some of the windows were small- and one had to be re-cut. They took two days to do the work- 15 windows in all. They came way too late in the morning to get a jump on day one- I had to take two days off of work! Then since they do no repair/replace of the window trim once installed, I had to pay a carpenter another $800 to fix that. In the end, my room is no cooler in the summer- in fact is was still HOT, and now 10 degrees colder in the winter. The noise from outside is the same as it was. In other words I gained NOTHING that I asked for. I feel like I threw away $5000. I am so greatly disappointed. I called them another 3 times afterwards and they would do nothing. They went so far as to tell me that the home had to "adjust" to the new windows- that's a bit of a crock, I think.They are not service oriented at all. I'm just sick over this experience. read more
