My daughter came into get her nails done, she's 13, she called around before she booked and found this to be the best price for what she wanted. She was quoted $60 for French tips. So she booked her appt. This was her first time getting her nails done and she was paying for it herself. She had worked hard to earn the money from babysitting and brought the proper amount in cash...because again, she's 13. The man that was doing her nails started shaping them when they were way too long. She's 13 years old and he was trying to give her stripper nails! My wife gets her nails done regularly and they were too long to be usable by an adult! She asked him over a dozens times to make them shorter and he would take a little off each time, keeping them still way too long. She thought he would do it before it was done because she had mentioned it so many times. He shaped each nail, all while being far too long still, and she had to ask him AGAIN to make them shorter! He didn't. I'm very proud of her for speaking up which was EXTREMELY awkward to have to do to a grown man multiple times after not being listened to. Although he didn't speak English, he understood what she was saying and they spoke about multiple other things, so it wasn't that he didn't understand, he just refused to do what she was asking for. She even showed him how long she wanted them and he just wouldn't do it. She ended up leaving with nails that were far too long and so inappropriate for a child because he wouldn't make them shorter. We had to go back once we saw them to have someone else that worked there cut them in half just to make them usable. SO AKWARD AND RUDE!! THEN when she was checking out she was expecting to pay the $60 plus tip and instead of it being $60 they said it was going to cost $82!! She was never told there would an extra charge for anything and had only gotten French tips. My daughter only brought $85 in cash so she handed him all she had and said he could keep the change as it was again, all she had with her, and the lady next to her nail tech laughter and mockingly said "oh wow, keep the change, a whole $3". Her mom showed up to pick her up and they tipped an extra $20 because she felt so bad that she didn't bring enough. Which is RIDICULOUS because she did bring enough! I'm just glad it wasn't me that picked her up. They just wanted to take advantage of the fact she's a child and overcharge her. She even questioned the price when she was checking out asking why it wasn't $60 and the lady looked at her nails confused at sounded like she was making up something about why it was $22 more. What a bunch of crooks!! What kind of business just charges whatever they want to and pressures children into overpaying and then mocks them to their face. Why would you tip when someone has not listened to you and not given you what you've asked for multiple times and overcharged you without cause. I'm SO MAD!!! My daughter now never wants to go and get her nails done again. It was such an awkward experience and I don't blame her! It's so sad because that was supposed to be a fun experience and relaxing and a special treat for herself. And instead she was stolen from and mocked to her face. I'm sure there are lots of wonderful places to get your nails done, so make sure to do your research ahead of time and please go somewhere else!

Used white putty to then create a faded French tip for index fingers. This is all hand painted! Mai is tight with her lines and technique. Instead of doom scrolling at home, this woman confessed that she's constantly scouring the internet to perfect her craft. If you want something done that's unusual (and doesn't require long faux acrylics) then show up at least a few days to a week in advance to make sure she can do it cause if she doesn't already know how to do it, she'll take the time to develop the skills needed to get the finish you want. They do provide a way to lengthen your natural nails without acrylics, they have a builder gel-type pre-made tips that are clear and don't sit thick on your nails. I've had to use them once when I broke a nail. My daughter got a full set when we were headed for spring break in Hawaii. Love this family owned and run business! Mother and daughter are the manicure techs and dad is busy answering phones prepping things, especially when it's busy. They're located in in between El Chilito & Les Schwab on hwy 99E in Canby. It's worth the drive. (They take their time to insure a perfect finish so depending on how long your nails are and how much hand painting and jewels you're adding you don't want to plan on this being a rushed visit...that also means they aren't filing into your natural nails and causing pain.
