I did my lashes friday and by Sunday they were barely there. For some reason it was burning a lot while she was applying the lashes and I chucked it up to my sensitive eyes ... but I've never had my lashes fall out almost 48hrs after. My brazilian wax was done by Alyssa. Before starting I had two concerns: 1. I have been going to the same wax lady for 7 years and was apprehensive to try someone new 2. The only time I had hard wax applied was at European wax center. It hurt like hell, and the hair regrew in 1 week, which means they ripped it and it didn't come out from the root. Alyssa guaranteed that with her technique the hard wax, would not be painful. She was right! I was impressed. She really knows her stuff, and took a look at the questionnaire I filled out to discuss possible allergies etc. The customer service here is outstanding! I didn't feel uncomfortable at all, and Alyssa checked in and made sure I wasn't in pain. The service here is 5 stars, hands down. However just know that these gals are just starting out, so this is not a luxurious space by any means, but the wax area is clean and neat. I am so pleased with this cute beauty bar near my new home, which is convenient, in the hunt of trying to get lashes for my first time for my vacation. It was four weeks before my first refill today and I still had majority of them on! Keeping in mind, I went away to a country with hot climate and I was getting them wet by swimming in the beach majority of the time. I came because of a Groupon deal but I'm definitely coming back! I got a Brazilian for $25 on Groupon and they're regularly priced at $40 but on Sundays they're $30 with appointment. My aestheticians name was Alisa (sorry if I misspelled it) she was great! She made me feel so comfortable and the wax wasn't extremely hot or anything. And it honestly didn't hurt as much as a Brazilian usually does. I guess it depends on the person doing it for you. But she made me feel so good that I ended up getting my underarms waxed and my eyebrows waxed and tinted as well. It was the first time I've ever gotten my eyebrows tinted. I have been getting lash extensions for years and after finally finding a great lash tech, sadly she moved to another state. I tried numerous places, but I was never satisfied with results- so I stopped getting extensions. Going on a last minute trip sparked the need for a new set and am I glad I found d'lux! Alyssa lashed me and she is now my go to! This was the most comfortable and pleasant experience getting lashed- the products used were top notch and non irritating and her technique was on point! Definitely not a one size fits all type of place! I was looking for a place close to home, that I felt comfortable going to. And I definitely found that and more. Upon arrival, both ladies Dora and Allysa greeted me warmly as they confirmed my appointment and asked me to read over some disclosures. Allysa then escorted me to my room where she began to ask me about the type of look I wanted. She was very detailed when explaining and made it easy for me to decide. After that consult she got right down to business. I was made to feel so comfortable. She explained each step to make sure I understood her process. We talked about the maintenance of my lashes, and how long to wait before I came back for a refill. This experience was top notch. I realized I wasn't met with the same care or information at the other places I had frequented. When a person takes their time to explain, it builds the trust...and my lashes turned out beautifully. I hate to break the streak of good reviews of this place, but I personally did NOT have a good experience. While the lady who did my eyebrow wax and tint was nice, she did not inform me before my session that I would leave with shiny, jet black, rediculous looking eyebrows. When she finished, I was taken aback and was horrified I had to leave looking like that. What if I had somewhere to be afterwards? It took 2 full days for the tint to look natural. I should have been told that before. The service costs $25 but now I am thankful to have an eyebrow lady at a different business who does thread (which I prefer more anyway) and tint for $12-literally half the price and I leave there with a very natural tint, so I can just go on with my day. I'm not sure if other services at this business are better, but I won't be back. read more
