Awesome bakery! So much goodness everywhere ypu looked! This is what I call a typical bakery / deli in the Boston area, what I grew up with!. A place that you would order your birthday cakes, pastries, cookies, breads, deli sandwiches, and of course pan pizza. Alice of pan pizza is a popular breakfast or lunch option! In addition, there are quiches, calzones, these amazing looking loaf cakes, pies, cannoli, deli salads, and much more! Just being open on a Sunday was a huge plus. We need to pick up some sandwiches for an early lunch. We ordered large (only $1 more than small) and they are ginormous! Definitely shareable or enough for a second meal! We ordered a side red potato salad. And of course a pound of cookies / biscotti! Everything tasted great! I hope we have time for a second visit during our trip! It was very busy around 930am on a Sunday morning. Very organized and well staffed for the business. Most were picking up pre-orders (cake, etc.). Ordering sandwiches wasn't an issue that early and pans of pizza were out! Love the East Coast and surely miss it! Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful! Most of the customers seemed like local regulars! That says a lot too! Parking is very easy. Large lot shated with another business. Front and then a larger lot on the side. Nice as most parking in this area (including Marblehead and Salem) is street parking only, very few lots! There are plenty of tables for dining inside. I can't begin to tell you how much I hate D'Orsi's. I go in there for some cupcakes and leave with cookies, pastries, their amazing bread and of course their incredible cupcakes. I went in to order my daughter's wedding cake and left with the most incredible subs I have had in a long time. They were huge, delicious, and a great price. When I picked up the wedding cake, I had to get more cookies, pastries, and a loaf of bread. More than half the loaf didn't make it home. Thanks a lot D'Orsi's. The extra calories are doing me and my family well, and I just love having to vacuum up all the crumbs from my super fresh scali!!!! Oh I almost forgot, don't go in if you need a break and want to stand in a line for 30-45 minutes. They have such great service that you are out of there before you even realize it. read more

Cindy and I enjoy everything they have we get a couple of slices of their pizza when we watch the Patriots also she likes to figure eggs in the cinnamon rolls today. Very very disappointed about this! I called in advance to see if they were able to do a Butt cake. The person who took my order went to check as I asked them if they were sure, going to double check they confirmed this was something they can do! When I go pick up the cake this is what I get! I was so upset but also the cost was $65. I wouldn't have cared for the price if it looked like a Butt. Even if I received a call prior explaining "I thought I was able to do it but I wasn't able to" would have been understandable but giving me the option to take or leave it perhaps at a discounted price or something!!! I'm not one to complain another reason why I just paid and left but this is not okay. Very disappointed!! And they probably won't care but we won't be back. read more

Best bakery I've tried. The subs have the best meats or freshly made cutlets. (No frozen chix fingers). The prices are incredibly reasonable. Every pastry I've tried has shocked me at how good they were. My mom got an eclair, which are not my favorite & I couldn't stop eating it. It had 5x the pastry cream of others & the cream was so light & billowy. (I never liked pastry cream, but they changed my mind) I drive 50 miles just for the bread. Reminds me a lot of the bakeries/delis on Long Island, NY. You don't find places like this, as much, in Massachusetts. Nothing fancy at all about the interior and the ordering cash register/bakery counter and system in general is chaotic and stressful. Once you DO order and get your sandwich, it is fucking fantastic. Bring your appetite because these sandwiches are huge! I got the meatball, upon a local's recommendation, and it was enormous. The bread was so fresh and good ... the meatballs, though reheated, were flavorful and very good ... and there was enough cheese on there to satisfy me. I was absolutely stuffed after the sandwich ... and I am a big eater. The best thing about this place ... pre-pandemic prices. I did a double-take when I saw that subs and sandwiches here cost less than Subway! It's rare to see a sub of this caliber for under $12 these days thanks to the nitwits we have running the country. You can get a good meal for a low price here ... compared to other area places. I am sad that I did not get to try to bakery goods, which looked even better than the sandwich. However, after a giant meatball sandwich, I figured the last thing I needed was sweets. You don't see places like this too often in Massachusetts ... or even in NY, NJ or Long Island these days! This bakery is very good. The pasties and the bread are excellent. The coffee rolls are fantastic. The bakery pizza is good. The sandwiches are packed and very reasonably priced. I wish the Italian came with chopped deli pickles. The line is very confusing if your not a regular. No idea where the back of the line is or where to stand. The bakery is great, most of the subs are great but don't get the chicken fingers. I ordered a small tray for of chicken fingers for the Super Bowl. Thinking, it's D'Orsi's right? They have to be good. When I picked them up I asked the girl if they were handmade here. She says, "No they're frozen Tyson chicken fingers." Then she rang up my order. $39.95 for 25 frozen chicken fingers! I could have got 2 bags at Market Basket for half the price. If you want good chicken fingers, go to Petrilo's in Peabody. Solid Italian sub (my wife got a chicken cutlet sub, not pictured) which we grabbed on our way to the beach. Nice homemade bread, good meat, and tasty cheese. Only "complaint" is that the Italian came automatically with lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and omitted puli, vinegar, and spices. Asked for hot peppers on the side and did not receive those. Even with the "complaints" I would recommend this sandwich to anyone and everyone. Very much above average and you won't be disappointed in your choice to visit. read more

They are not in the least bit humble or consider of the customer. I had an issue to discuss with them about what's supposed to come with one of their products. They didn't like that at all. They gave me all these cockamimi excuses and then told me if I don't like it there's the door. What conceded arrogant people. Although this is an excellent bakery that I would highly recommend, I do have one suggestion: Post your hours correctly on line, especially when they are changed. I got up early today, got myself out there in the freezing cold so I could get some pastry's for my father's birthday today and arrived to find that the store is closed! There's a handwritten sign on the door describing that the have been closed since New Year's and will be closed until next week. That was planned and not insignificant. I did not see this on the website when I looked up the hours today, it states they are open. Used to love this bakery! Came back to town this past weekend and was incredibly disappointed. The chocolate muffin I ordered was incredibly dry and had shavings of chocolate versus the whole chocolate chip. Honestly have never had a chocolate muffin without the whole chip in the muffin. It was less than satisfying. The next day, I decided to try the bakery again because I used to love this bakery. I ordered an Eclair. I have no idea what was in the Eclair but it did not taste like vanilla pudding. Whatever it was, was not good and honestly tasted like freezer burn. I took one bite and threw it away. read more

( or so I think) Only to find out after I've driven home and open the boxes that only half the items are in the boxes. One time I drove back because I was hosting a large event.
