Decent dessert spot to try. The interior was pretty big with big booths to sit in. The service was good, nothing to complain about. I tried the chocolate and pistachio croffle which came with vanilla ice cream. It was pretty good and the ice cream balanced out the rich chocolate. Perfect to share with someone. Came here at night time for a dessert with my friends, the food itself was great, and the service is great too. However, the staff members do not necessarily care or attempt to control any customers that are being too loud and disruptive to the other tables. I do not blame the employees for the behaviors of other customers, however I wish that rules are established regarding being too loud and when customers are being too inconsiderate. read more

Good dessert and service. A pretty enjoyable dessert place in Markham. The classic funnel cake is really good here. Crispy base, a good amount of strawberry sauce with real strawberry, top it up with the nice soft vanilla ice cream. Simply delicious. On the other hand, the drinks are just way too sweet for me. Pretty good-looking but they dump in a heavy load of sweetener to it. Honestly, I'm not a big fan of it. The servers are great with good politeness. They've got drinks (milkshakes, cold/hot drinks), funnel cakes, cakes, waffles and crepes, ice cream, twisted tornados, Belgian creations, pancakes and funnel fry poutines, croffles, signature sundaes, sausages, and poutines. D Spot Desserts is a great spot for not only dessert for other non-dessert items. I really assumed it was just another Demetres. I've drove past this location many times, but never went in. Well I was craving something sweet and dropped in. It wasn't busy, there were customers but it wasn't overwhelming. I stood at front waiting to be seated for a bit of time when a server came as asked if I wanted to be seated. I said yes, he said..."alone?" Yes, alone. *rolls eyes*. I'm seated and given a menu and he left. I waited, and waited and finally waved him down to take my order. I think he was weirded out I was eating alone because after I placed my order he was like just for you. When my waffle arrive they forgot the fork which took a little more time to get. Now I'm not upset about the food, it was delicious. I got the liege waffle with biscoff cream with cookie crumbles and a side of vanilla ice cream. If you are a biscoff fan, you will love this dessert. The waffle was warm and had a nice crisp on the outside. The biscoff cream is heavenly delicious! I can't get enough of biscoff cookies and spread! What upset me the most was the fact they made me feel like a weirdo for eating alone. Also, they seem to be very disorganized. There were three people working and they had no leadership in the kitchen or in the cafe. Everyone was trying to do everything. Assign tasks, one person at front/ serving, one doing prep. Location became busier after 830pm. Funnel cakes were quite crispy. Generous servings with a big cup of ice cream topping the funnel cakes. I liked the "cozy and comfy" funnel cake with lots of apple topping and vanilla ice cream which seemed closer to soft serve which was fine. The other funnel cake had a strawberry sauce and chocolate ice cream. I preferred the apple funnel cake with vanilla ice cream. We had to pack both for take home. It is huge! Service was friendly and attentive. We couldn't finish the funnel cake or the ice cream and we asked for a cup to pack the ice cream to bring home. They kindly offered to keep the ice cream in the freezer until we were ready to leave. We couldn't have asked for better customer service! 5/5. Plenty of parking at this location. read more

4.5 STARS Yummy dessert spot opened up not too long ago where Starbucks used to be in there plaza where Cana bee baby is. Order cotton candy ice cream and funnel cake with strawberry sauce and ice cream on the side. Funnel cake was yummy with the strawberry sauce accompanied with the ice cream, just wished the funnel cake was a tad bit crispier. Cotton candy was super sweet, but fun to eat! D Spot had its grand opening today and we decided to give it a try! Knowing that it was free, I honestly didn't expect too much and definitely long waits. That being said, once we got in, hospitality was great. Management was good and ensured we were taken care of. Despite the business, staff were still friendly and working efficiently. The waffle was soft and fluffy, good sweetness but can be a bit more crispy for our liking. I do think this may be related to meeting demands but overall well composed. Toppings were quite generous and a good number of choices to choose from. Your classic toppings and a few extra ones with flavours more commonly found in South Asian cuisine like pistachios and rose ice cream! Overall decent prices comparable to the neighboring western dessert places. They also have funnel cakes! read more

We really enjoyed our food at this despite location. We were actually coming from a location that did not serve funnel cakes, so we were very excited to have the funnel cakes here. The service was family and fairy quick, we received our food in under 10 minutes. It was such a large, serving the two of us were not able to finish the funnel cake. read more

Good late night dessert spot! I liked the colorful and fun decor inside D Spot Dessert, it was very playful like many of the desserts themselves. We got a Philly Cheesesteak sausage to start which was a 2 out of 5, my partner said the taste was good but the texture was off putting. The cheese wasn't really melted and overall it didn't look appetizing. Next we got the strawberry cheesecake cruffle which was very tasty! The cruffle (croissant waffle hybrid) was crispy and delicious, the strawberry sauce was incredible. It also came with cheesecake bites, which were decent, and a side of vanilla ice cream. Overall we really liked the cruffle and would get it again. We also had a virgin mango mojito which tasted very sour, I'm not a mojito drinker so not sure if that's the usual taste but I didn't like it, my partner enjoyed it though. D Spot Desserts just opened up in the Woodbine and Highway 7 area, in the space formerly occupied by Starbucks close to LA fitness. I popped in on their second day of opening. This location is an express location -- that is, it has some seating, but is more takeout and fast dessert focused. They sell cake slices, funnel cakes, crêpes, ice cream "tornadoes" (think DQ blizzard or Mcflurry from McDonald's), sundaes, waffles, milkshakes, and smoothies. Prices are similar to what you'd find at similar dessert cafes such as Demetres. Hit D Spot featuring a double waffle and double scoops of ice cream tops the price list at $26. Staff Ahmed was incredibly helpful and patiently answered my questions about the menu options. They have soft serve, as well as dozens of ice cream flavors, many made in-house such as saffron pistachio custard and rose & nuts. My favourite ice creams were pistachio, Nutella hazelnut crunch, and saffron pistachio custard which had a brightness, creaminess and nuttiness to it. The ice cream had a good texture and mouthfeel, and the flavours were spot on. Looking forward to returning to try more of the menu items. read more

Saw this place opened a few months back and have passed by it numerous times but never had the chance to visit it. Finally had the chance last week and it did not disappoint! They took over the Starbucks unit across from LA fitness at the plaza on the corner of woodbine and hwy 7. Plenty of parking available and quite spacious inside. I went on a week night just before 9 pm and there were 2 tables occupied (they have booth seats and bar seats by the door). As the night went on I noticed there were a lot more people coming in. If I had to compare, this place is quite similar to Demetres but less fancy. I would say the food is a cross between Cacao 70 and Demetres. The atmosphere is simple and quite comfortable and very clean! Which is especially important in times like these. The way you order is kind of like food court style. You order at the cashier and wait for your order then find a spot to sit down. The staff were very friendly and courteous and gave you suggestions if you needed any. They have quite a generous menu and prices I would say is fair. The portions are big enough to be shared with 2 to 3 people. The appearance of the desserts are also ig worthy. You can tell the staff takes time and effort to make them look nice and appetizing. They also have an array of ice cream flavours to choose from, some are also very interesting and unique, like pistachio custard and rose and nuts. I would say there's more than 20 flavours to choose from, so chances are there has to be a flavour for you! If you're a chocolate fan, there's a Belgian Creations menu that features plenty of chocolate on either crepes or waffles of your choice. I ordered one called Dream Come True which is a warm yes a WARM giant piece of brownie on a waffle smothered in white milk and dark chocolate. A giant scoop of ice cream also comes on the side for you to put on. We were happy to hear that there was a D Spot that had opened much closer to us, so we made the trip there with my daughter. Right away, we noticed the decor was wonderful and very upbeat. As we made our way to the counter, the staff was very friendly and patient (there was a lot to choose from). They were very helpful and even offered my daughter if she wanted sprinkles on her ice cream, which she happily said yes to. As any parent will tell you, little things like that would certainly make your day. After getting our orders (My Crepe Ate Your Brownie) I was definitely satisfied. It's a big portion and quite heavy so I'd advise getting it to share and not to solo it the way I did. All in all, we had a wonderful experience and are already planning a trip back to try the some of the other stuff on the menu. read more

TLDR: Too sweet, mediocre desserts. Fast food level presentation and service, charges restaurant prices and expects 18%+ tip when you seat yourself and clean your own tables. I had a lacklustre, confusing experience here on Saturday. First, there's a "wait to be seated" sign at the door, so we stood there waiting for the staff. We were confused since they were setup like a fast casual restaurant that is self service. After a while, staff waved at us to go up to the counter and seat ourselves...so why the sign? The menu looks enticing, so we ordered a classic funnel cake and a twisted tornado ice cream dessert. The entire process was self service like a fast food chain, except for cleaning up the tables. The chairs at our table were extremely uncomfortable so we wanted to swap tables but there was no staff to clean empty tables so we had to do so ourselves. The funnel cake was good, checks all the boxes you'd expect, but nothing to write home about. The twisted tornado looked cheap and was disgustingly sweet. It had no depth of flavours, reminds you of an oversized mcflurry in a limited edition flavour. I had 4 bites and wanted to toss it out. The price point of this place reminds you of Demetres, which is a sit down establishment with desserts served to you beautifully plated. D spot on the other hand, charges $10-20 pp for fast food quality dessert and service, appalling if you ask me. As the cherry on top, they only allow 18%, 20%, 25% tip on the machine at the counter. The "Other" button is broken, so I guess no tip is the only logical tip option given everything is self service anyway. read more

For the Hwy 7, 3000 location, there are issues with the store hours changing without notice (suddenly opening at 6pm instead of 1pm), rules changing without notice, and unprofessional attitude from the manager there. We had made a reservation for a party of 12 arriving at 7pm on a Monday. But then when we arrived on the day, we were informed by the staff that the manager just called and decided to change the rules. We asked why there would be a concern as the location is virtually empty from Mon to Thurs (when we come, we represent about half of their customers on that day). But the staff told us that the manager was adamant without providing any explanation. We informed the staff that it was also extremely inconsiderate to make this change only after we had arrived and not inform us earlier. The staff agreed with us. They said they were very happy to have us here and don't understand the reason for the sudden change either. However they said there is nothing they can do. We literally decided to leave. We were semi-regular customers there until these incidents started occurring. read more
