Demetres is my favourite place for desserts and this place at Don Mills is one of my favourite because of its ambiance. I went on a Saturday evening and it was super busy. I was greeted quickly and was given a table. The order was taken quickly as well and the dessert arrived in quickly. I ordered left no crumbs which comes with Trimasu with vanilla ice cream. It arrived quickly and presentation was spot on. I tried it for the first time and my god it was so yummy. I loved the taste of the cake as it was super fluffy and soft. Would recommend it to everyone. I gave 4 stars only because it took me 15-20 minutes to pay the bill as it was super busy. I would recommend come on week day if you can otherwise be ready to wait.
I've been coming to Dimitri for years! And I always love this place. They've definitely upgraded over the last 15 years in terms of ambiance and menu selection. But one thing that I keep ordering is "The last straw" I always opt out for the honey vanilla ice cream for chocolate and it never disappoints. The servers are always sweet and friendly here which makes the experience even better
Came here with baby on a chill Thursday afternoon. The place smells so sweet and fragrant upon entering. We were the only two in the whole store. Tried my favourite, "Ube Eats" with Belgian waffle. swapped vanilla sweet dream with fresh strawberries so it's not overly sweet. I love the premium and unique ice cream. The waffle was fresh and piping hot. The presentation looks very appetizing too, love at first sight! One piece of the strawberry is not as fresh, and wish the ends could be trimmed off more. Otherwise food tastes great. The atmosphere and vibe is perfect for dating and gathering with friends. Chill soft music. The server was attentive, and sweet, and when I asked for hot water and more napkins, she provided them promptly. I can't wait to come back again in the near future.
I always love going to Demetres for desserts and this is my go to location as it is in a beautiful plaza plus the ambiance of restaurant is great. I ordered Piece talks which is red velvet cake with vanilla in ice cream. Though the restaurant was very busy as it was weekend, our dessert arrived in quick time. The presentation of the dessert was brilliant as always. I love the red velvet cake and vanilla ice cream so this combination was superb for me. Loved the food quality and taste. The only thing i can complain about was the time it took for me to pay the bills. It was Saturday evening and store was super busy so had to wait almost 20 minutes before i could pay the bill. I would recommend that there should be more workers on the weekend to accommodate people especially at busy times. Overall a great experience.
Went with friends to Shops at Don Mills and wanted to find a place to sit down and have a chat so we ended up at Demetres. It was mid-afternoon when we went in and we got a table right away. Staff were very friendly from the get go serving us water and were patient when we asked for more time to decide what to order. We each ended up ordering a drink. I ordered the hot honey lemon tea and it was very fragrant with the jasmine tea base and very soothing. We had small board games with us and were able to play inside without any complaints. We actually ended up playing and chatting for 4-5 hours and they had no problem with it which was great! The restaurant was quite loud and lively, especially when they were celebrating birthdays inside with drumroll and song playing. Probably because their staff were changing shifts so they didn't provide us more water but it was fine.

I picked it out of my back teeth and it seemed like a pistachio shell is the likely culprit (I regret not taking a picture). Very small very hard. Very sharp. Nothing on the crepe would be anything else. (Vanilla ice cream. Strawberries. Milk chocolate. Crepe. And the pistachio with knafeh.) unless it was the knafeh. Anyways I told our waitress and Whaf actually surprised me is that she said it has happened before. It's not the first time! Shocker. I did not expect that answer. And she was not surprised at all!! Wow. So goes to show you. Demetres is not quality checking. I posted this on my IG story and Demetres viewed my story. And ZERO response so far. If they respond. I wil update. For now. I didn't lose a tooth. Otherwise there would be a serious issue I would be considering legal options. But good thing I didn't chomp down on it. Be careful when ordering this!! U never know!! Also it was ok. I wouldn't order it again.
Extremely busy location but we were seated right away. Very polite and nice server. I love their waffle. It's great for sharing if you don't want too much. It was a little noisy although it was the weekend when I went but it's a great dessert place.
We had a quick late night sweet treat a few days ago, and we enjoyed it quite a bit. The restaurant was not that busy that night, but it was clean and well lit, which I like because you can see the food, and hear your company speak to you. We ordered the tongue depressor and substituted the cocoa chocolate for the honey vanilla, and it actually is one of the better and more flavourful vanilla ice cream scoops I've had. The waffle was perfectly done, and the whole thing overall was tasty. I would definitely go back again for just this. But we also ordered a latte, which came with a tiny biscotti, the perfect sweet accompaniment for this delightful espresso. Over all a great experience with the food staff and restaurant, we surely will be back again!
I had their 'Monumintal' and 'Unbrûlévable' French Crepes, and it was a taste bud celebration. The Monumintal, with Winter Mint Ice Cream, Fudge Brownies, and Oreo Pieces, offered a delicious journey to Paris in every bite. The Unbrûlévable, featuring Dulce and Banana Ice Cream, Brûléed Bananas, and Butter Caramel Sauce, was equally impressive. The French Crepes were delicate, flavorful, and oozing Parisian charm. The atmosphere was cozy, and the service was top-notch, making it an all-around fantastic experience.
It was our last night in Toronto and we stumbled upon the Shops at Don Mills while looking for dinner. We walked around the plaza and saw these beautiful ice cream plates being brought out to customers enjoying their sweets on the restaurant patio that we just had to go inside to check out the place for ourselves. I am so glad we did because LOVED every aspect of this visit. The inside has a cute, elegant vibe. Even the bathrooms were super cute and clean. There were a ton of options to enjoying the delicious ice cream they offer (crepes, waffles, big sundae bowls, small scoops, milkshakes, and more). We got the "Daddy-o" and the seasonal "zest friends forever" sundaes. My oh my was it good!! Honestly, we should have just gotten one for the two of us, but we wanted to try these two flavors because yolo. However, I recommend only getting 1 order per 2 people in your party, it's a lot of dessert. I HIGHLY recommend stopping here if you are in town. We are sad we learned about it on our last day but hope to return in the future.
I've really enjoyed the two times I've been here. First time was date night with hubby and second time was family treat time. Both times service was excellent and dessert choices were great. Love the decor and atmosphere which is hip , sleek, yet large and comfy. Brownie Points is our "go to" each time. Love. Drinks were pretty good too. The grapefruit , rosemary sparkler was a standout. Will definitely be back!
Demetres is my go to place to get a full dessert meal! I went on a weekday evening and got seated immediately. Their menu is massive both in physical size and in dessert selections. They have crepes, cakes, ice cream, waffles, sundaes, ice drinks, hot drinks, and the list goes on. At first glance, the desserts seem quite pricey, but trust me the portion is massive! I ended up ordering the Pomme Pilot crepe, which comes with white chocolate ice cream, warm apple slices, and cinnamon streusel. It was absolutely delicious and tastes like Fall on a plate. My only critique was that half of my crepe was soggy due to the ice cream being directly on top of it. I'd prefer it if they separated both items. Like I mentioned, the portion is massive, so come here on an empty stomach.
Overly sweet, wouldn't recommend getting this unless you really like sweets. The serving size is good for two people. We've also added additional bruleed bananas which was probably the best part of the dish. The fresh blueberries were also a plus! Service was mediocre, waitress was apologetic about it which was nice. Price is also pretty up there, our total after taxes were $29 for one item plus the bananas which was an additional $3.50.
Entering the establishment you are greeted with bright vibrant and welcoming seating. Very clean and well kept. Super diverse menu with many options. The staff we had a young lady with a hijab on was very pleasant and helpful. Able to answer any questions we had on the menu. Also very attentive as later on in our visit one of our group (a Lil one) accidentally knocked a drink over; she came over promptly with towels to wipe up and get us in a clean environment at our table. I ordered a Belgium waffle moo lala style. It was a full Belgium waffle fluffy and delicious topped with banana slices, pecan praline crumble, hazelnuts spread and roche ice cream. Very decadent and delicious. Probably not good for the Diabetes but one and done.. Very good dessert place but bring an appetite as they have very decent portion sizes read more

Came here for a quick dessert. Place is very bright and lots of lighting. All seats are booth/benched like which is nice. The staff if very kind and gives suggestions for you if needed. Unfortunately they don't allow you to buy kid scoop unless you're a kid. I wasn't feeling up to buying a full single scoop but they refused. Server said they can make a single scoop smaller for me but still have to pay the price, which is a silly suggestion but no. Will only come here again if I want dessert for dinner I guess! Or if I want something sweet to drink which is rare. read more

Food quality Fruits were fresh & ripe. Sorbet quality good - we got mango and it was like frozen mango pulp. Food presentation Very nice presentation. A bit too much sauce which we didn't like very much. I suspect there was balsamic vinegar in it that was not noted the menu. Customer service Lovely staff. They provided a sample of an ice cream flavor when we weren't sure if we'd like it. Fast service. Staff brought over an extra plate when asked. I saw staff volunteering to take photo of a family near us who were taking a selfie. However we waited a while after finishing before anyone noticed and we were able to get the bill. read more

A lively atmosphere that is the perfect hangout spot with friends to enjoy some dessert. The customer service is decent considering how busy it always is, especially on weekends. The Pretty in pink waffle is my go to order, with lots of fresh strawberries, strawberry blush ice cream & gold waferettes for the perfect crunch. read more

Just looking for some late-night dessert, my friends and I went to Demetres on a whim. On a Monday night, the cafe was definitely on the emptier side so we were able to be seated as soon as we came in. The service was fast and efficient, having our food was served in less than 15 minutes. We also mentioned to one of the servers that it was our friend's birthday, and she did an excellent job at being discrete while serving our food. She left the birthday girl's food for last and garnished her dessert with a candle and their happy birthday anthem. The ambiance was quiet and quaint, with low lighting and music playing in the back. I ordered the Bun Voyage ice cream sandwich; it's safe to say that it's now one of my favourite dishes there. The bun pastry that sandwiches the French Vanilla ice cream is thin and puffy, while the actual ice cream itself tastes rich in dairy. My friends ordered the 'Brownie Points,' and the 'Choc This Way.' While the sundae was a little bit on the sweeter side and very chocolaty, the Brownie Points cake was quite good. Everything tasted fresh and abundant in flavours. Overall, I know I'm going to come back- the food they serve always satisfies my late-night cravings, and the service is always fast and top-notch. If you're ever in a pinch and in need of a cake slice, give Demetres a try! read more
Service was good, place had a nice atmosphere & my rochè ice cream single scoop was delicious. The only issue was that they served the ice cream in a hot glass that just came out of the dishwasher, so the ice cream was partially melted! read more
Me my wife and our fam from Calgary came for dessert at Demetres Didn't know what to expect since I haven't been here in years The menu definitely upgraded from years past. A definitely new and fresh take on favourites from the past The location at Shops is super nice Fresh clean and vibrant We had the splitsonian French crepe Bananas and strawberries mixed with Nutella and honey vanilla ice cream Super rich and tasty Our fam from Calgary had the Cocoa Ono which also came with honey vanilla ice cream Let's just say that the portions didn't disappoint and neither of us could finish the whole thing Only thing I would suggest is more washrooms for the gents as there is only one but otherwise a great experience overall and definitely brought back memories of my younger days hitting this place up Would definitely go again read more

Have been here multiple times. Very convenient location and consistent for food quality. I got the unbruvleable on a Belgian waffle and stormy weather ice coffee. The waffle came with a giant scoop of ice cream and creme bruleed bananas. It was delicious and I would definitely order it again. The desserts came out soon after ordering and always look super appealing. Would definitely recommend this place for a special occasion. The service is a bit slow as there doesn't seem to be too many servers versus the number of tables that they tend to. They are super friendly but it was relatively slow service. Love the decor and overall decorations of this venue. read more
Haven't had Demetres in years. My friends and I wanted dessert and decided to come here. Food ($$$$): 3.75/5 - I was shocked at how expensive it became. There were a lot of menu items that are no longer on there. The waffles/crepe with icecream and toppings are now $27.75 + tax. I think the portions before were a bit bigger than what my friends got. I got a single scoop of mango sorbet for $10 + tax. The icecream came in a martini-like glass. It was on the more tart side but I don't mind. According to the description, it was supposed to come with granishes/toppings but mine was just the sorbet. Service: 5/5 - the server that helped us was super friendly and patient with us. We were having difficulty choosing what dessert we wanted. Ambiance: 4/5 - well lit, had a lot of seats but the tables and seats were definitely quite close to each other Overall: 3.75/5 - I wouldn't deliberately drive here for dessert but if I was around the area, I might just opt to share an order with my friends. read more

Visited this location on a weekday evening, they were somewhat busy, but didn't have to wait for a seat. It was their first day that they introduced the summer menu, and the server took her time to explain the new items to us. Service here was excellent from beginning to end. I ordered the chocolate icecream crepe, this location by far was the fastest in bringing out my food. The quality of the crepe was very good - it was soft and pillowy. The chocolate icecream had a bit of chew to it. Overall, a good choice and will satisfy that chocolate craving. read more

The crepe and ice-cream looks stunning when served at my table. Excellent opportunity to update my instagram! Usually, I am afraid of the extra sweetness of dessert of this kind, however, the vanilla flavour that I chose was relatively light but with a good taste. The ice-cream is best when served with the crepe, Nutella and fruits. Will definitely come back for more before the summer ends. The place is nice. Nicely decorated and brightly coloured. That's probably one of the few nice things I can say unfortunately. There were 4 other tables dining, most of which already had their food. We waited a few minutes to be greeted. The waitress only greeted us the third time she walked past us. Didn't acknowledge us or anything the first couple times. Just walked by. Service was painfully slow. After we were sat, we waited another 10-15 minutes before she came back with water and to take our order. Also, we noticed the table was dirty still, there was ice cream on a decorative flower pot with fake flowers. The flowers had chocolate on them too. Food came out in a reasonable amount of time. The ice cream was creamy and had good flavour. It was a decent sized portion. It was mega sweet though but that's just my opinion. I wouldn't go back nor would i recommend it. read more
I love every Demetres I've been to but this location definitely sets itself apart from the others. With the large, space and beautiful decor, it's perfect for a date night to family outings. The food was just as exceptionally well as it's other branches but the service was really top notch here! The server always came around during appropriate moments, always ensuring we were good. read more
This is my first time at Demetres after eyeing it a few times, plus they're open till 12am. I went on a Saturday evening and the place was packed! I was told to add number to a waiting list and I'll get a text once the table is ready. I love this service. I ended up getting a text about 10 mins later saying that the table is ready. We were seated all the way at the end near the washroom and the space was quite tight and I was back to back with someone else. Since I can't have regular ice cream due to the dairy, I was hoping to see more vegan options, but only the 2 sorbets on the menu were marked with the green v and 2 fruit smoothies. One was the banana passion fruit sorbet and the other was a Mango one. If you don't go with one of the set menu items, you can choose your base (crepe, waffles, liege), an ice scoop of your choice and up to 3 toppings. I ended up ordering the waffle with a scoop of the banana passion fruit sorbet, with slices of banana, strawberry coulis and oreo pieces. It must have been super loud in that place because two items were wrong on my order. They ended up giving me the Mango sorbet instead of banana passion fruit, and instead of banana slice I got strawberry slices. I was going to flag the waiter down but I saw that he was super busy running around so I just said screwed it and enjoyed the dessert anyways. It is huge, enough to split between 2 people. The sorbet was refreshing and the waffle tasted like a solid waffle. It's still pricey tho for 20 bucks a waffle. Overall, wish they had more vegan options, not just ice cream sorbets, but other options too like the cookie sandwiches etc. read more

Demetres decor and ambience always impresses me. This location is large and spacious with all the pastel colours you can think of. The employees were very helpful and kind. The crepe was a good size to share between two people! The cookie butter ice cream do such a unique flavour I wish I could buy it in stores. My favourite thing about Demetres is they are always open late so you can grab a quick sweet fix late evening or after a movie. Would definitely come back! read more

Today, I had a Tongue Depresser Leige Waffle and it was mouthwatering. The presentation was beautiful decorated with Belgian white chocolate, brownies and chocolate sauce. The crunchiness of the waffle with chocolate ice cream and brownies was amazing. Although I went in the evening so it was pretty busy and took some time to get food and the bill as well. read more

The Sweetcar Named Desire Belgian Waffle was to die for! The strawberries were fresh and mouthwatering; the chocolate ice cream was rich and velvety smooth; the Belgian chocolate sauce was delicious; and the Belgian waffle was crispy and fluffy. First impression of demetres is the great customer service. They were attentive and welcoming. Answered questions on the type of dessert they would suggest and why. Provided me with the available options. We ordered the pomme pilot crepe to share and it the presentation was scrumptious. The plating was clean and delicately organized and salivating. Quality of the food: fresh and warm. The flavour of the white chocolate ice cream was perfect. The crêpe was all right texture could be better but the flavour was fine. Apples were a big letdown the apple flavour was non existent and the dish relied to heavily on sugar sweet and cinnamon flavours. read more
I really wanted to like this Demetres. The food is like all the other locations (very expensive overpriced desserts) but they have done a great job with the décor and it's a lovely space. I loved the pink benches, which gave off serious Wes Anderson vibes. However, the service was severely lacking and ruined the experience. We came on a Sunday afternoon and spent a lot of time trying to get the attention of our waitress. Any step of the restaurant process that involved some type of service, there would be a long wait. I do appreciate that she was taking care of several tables, but she literally seemed to disappear at times. What really pissed me off was that when we went to pay, we waited soooooo long to get our bill. When we finally got the bill, I think she forgot about us because we had to flag down another waiter to ask for the card machine. Even then, she did not show up to ring us up. I ended up dropping down cash and walking out of there because waiting for change would have been another 30 minutes. If I'm paying nearly $10 for a drink, I expect at least a smooth transaction over being gouged for the money. Also, another annoying service point was new patrons were told to wait even though there were plenty of empty tables. Today I went to Demetres Shops at Don Mills! I was pleasantly surprised to be greeted so warmly by the host. Our server was super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. With her recommendation, I tried the My Main Squeeze on a Liege waffle. I must say if you like lemon meringue, this one is for you! This dessert is seasonal and so it's only available for a limited time. It came with a lemon Icecream topped with blueberries and drizzled with lemon curd. It was full of yummy in my tummy! Loved every bite of it and would come back for more! Fantastic! read more

I really enjoyed my experience at this location, the staff were extremely kind. It was also very clean and bright on the inside. I ordered the last straw because I asked what they recommended for strawberry loves. She also told me I could create my own and I could choose whatever toppings which was nice. I found them to be very accommodating. The taste and presentation of the dessert was perfection like every other location I've been to. read more

I ordered the Moo Lala crepe and I thought the presentation of the dessert was very large and plated really pretty and large enough to feed two people. Crepes are usually really flat so added height from the ice cream makes it more appealing. I thought the crepe was soft, the ice cream was great quality and you can taste the ferrero chunks and flavour, the hazelnut praline was such a great added crunch factor but I thought the bananas were just so-so because it added too much extra sweetness. The hostess greeted and seated us right away and the waitress was always checking in and making sure everything was OK and attending to any of our needs. Highly reccomend! read more

The Tongue Depressor - French Crepe was highly recommended. Not too sweet for an ice cream and brownie dessert kind. Food presentation was inviting and portion was generous. Waitress was kind and helpful, apologized when we raised concern about chipped glass of water and replaced immediately. read more
