    Pad Thai tofu

I make an effort to stop by whenever I am in town. It is a nice surprise to find a Thai restaurant with such good food in a smaller town like Mesquite. I was not expecting much my first time, but this place impresses me every time. Khao soi, pad thai, and papaya salads are my go-to and all delicious. I've seen this place fill up completely for lunch, and have seen diners make reservations. Quick service and even better food.

We went by today to see if they were back and open, and they were! We had the eggplant, and the papaya salad from the lunch menu. Both were served piping hot. The salad on the side is delicious. The spicy eggplant was cooked well, and the papaya salad was crunchy and flavorful. The salad was ordered as a "7" on the hot scale and just had a little bit of a kick. The eggplant was a "5" and wasn't hot at all. The service was good, the restaurant was full, and they still kept our waters filled. We will be back.

Friendly workers, clean interior, lunch specials, heat levels were true to their levels (1-10), lots of parking and overall sweet flavors in the curries and salad dressings. As anticipated and appreciateful as an expected Thai restaurant.

Honestly everything tasted pretty good and the service was good, interior could use some updating and the prices were a little high as well. If nearby would stop here again.

Loved that they offer soft tofu, but the curries were way too sweet - they cannot customize or change the sugar concoction - too sad. Tiny portions, decent service. Overall good stop at a roadtrip.

This place deserves all of the great reviews. Everything was extremely tasty. The staff was nice and the food came out fast. They ask you what spice level you want. We picked a 3 out of 10 on the Papaya Salad and that was spicy. Would definitely go back and highly recommend.

One of my favorite spots to dine in Mesquite since my home is 130 miles away. The yellow shrimp curry is always tasty.

We showed up close to their closing time for the lunch break (around 2:55), right before they close at 3 and reopen for dinner, but they were still kind enough to let us place a carry-out order, which I really appreciated. The food came out quickly too--just a few minutes--and everything was fresh and well-prepared. Overall, it was a great experience and I'd definitely go back again.

At first glance of the prices you would think you were at a full sit down Thai restaurant. In reality you would think you were in the mall food court. We started with steamed rice, which comes with the meal, and the tangerine chicken. The chicken was delicious. Light crunchy breading and a fresh tart sauce...but the portion size would leave a 6oz sparrow chirping for more. When you pay $15 for an entree and it doesn't feed a 5 year old there is an issue there. The journey continued with the royal fried rice, which had a wopping two whole shrimp in it. Again, $15 for fried rice is a crime but the portion size was improved... we will settle on acceptable. On to the noodles! We got the drunken and pad see ew. The meat in all the dishes, with the exception of the drunken noodle was very bland. The pad see ew was okay, good portion size, fresh ingredients, just not a whole lot of flavor. The drunken was the star of the show here... A nice spice level, full of flavor, and good portion size. The noodles had a good texture, and it was filling. This was the only dish that lived up to the price and hype. Overall it's okay, not nearly as good as Thai we are used to at larger restaurants but if you need a quick Thai fix and are willing to pay full Thai price it may be for you. Stay away from the stand alone chicken dishes if you need a full meal and you will be fine.

The reservation was written down for 730pm. The host team did the best they could and had us seated in 15 minutes. Good recovery. Our server, Bailey, was kind and friendly. She was quick on drinks, soups, and salads. We waited quite a while for the Hibachi chef to arrive. A solid 30 minutes. He was great and made it fun. The chef, Bailey, and others apologized many times for the slow service. We were still having a nice time until the bill came. We looked at each other (the 5 of us) and said, "No dessert? Nothing was offered. No menu provided. Big miss! So we just paid the bill, tipped well, and left. There was a $45 discount on the bill that wasn't mentioned so I suspect this was the slow service or was it for not offering dessert? The hosts were friendly on the way out as well. This was definitely a 3-star experience on this trip, but we have had 5-star experiences in the past. This is the reason for the 4-star rating. If you're having a 5-star experience, the price is right, but it's a little pricey when it's a 3-star experience. Really great people at Sakura. A very clean and beautiful restaurant.
