    Raw coffee!
    Marcus M.

Amazing food! And great personal service. I never had raw coffee before but Pheonix was kind enough to educate me and my wife. I highly recommend this spot before a day at Volcano National Park.

The coffee is ono and the service is great. It's a great spot to stop on your way to Volcano or going into town. They've a pretty diverse drink and food menu. I got the raw cold brew Creamy Moehane.

If you are in the area this is a must the food here is amazing. Me and my girlfriend went almost every morning during our trip and tried everything. 20/10 Kim is killin it. Try the raw coffee too!

Very cute little café with some ono coffee & grinds! The proprietor is a very thoughtful host & great cook. The food was delicious & filling, so hit the spot! Lots of beautiful art adorns the walls, & the music was chill, perfect accompaniment to the rainy Mountain View weather.

I just had to write another one! Never a disappointment stopping at my favorite cafe!! I am so loving the new healthy menu!! Along with some other new additions... you have to come down and try the new Blue Hawaiian! Yum in a glass and so healthy! Kim can better explain all of the amazing health benefits in this amazing drink! Stop in and say hi to her and Phoenix! They are so kind and just have the most amazing cafe! Relax and enjoy

Local art all over the walls.

The vibe is just right in this sweet little coffee shop. It's so cozy with good music playing, comfy seats, and local art on the wall. We ordered: Hot Americano Caramel latte Kona sweet smoothie (kids split this) Lemon poppyseed muffin Everything was fantastic. The drinks, ambiance, and customer service. Def worth a visit if you're in the area.

Excellent food, excellent service, you can tell he cares about the drinks and good he serves. You can tell he enjoys sharing his knowledge before customers make their decision (:

Stopped in for breakfast and coffee, and it didn't disappoint! The guy working was so chill and laid back and gave us the rundown for the coffee and menu. Food was delicious and coffee was very different to anything we've tried before. Would definitely visit again next time we're here. Mahalo!

The raw coffee is a must try! I got the Nutty Irishman. Taste a little fruity but surprisingly good.

Beautiful Coffee Oasis in the middle of the Big Island. A genuine, authentic Hawaiian spot(attached to a Hostel). I absolutely adored the ambiance (10 out of 10), welcoming, charming, relaxing, comfortable, reggae sounds as you listen to the relaxing sound of cars whipping by. Comfy couches and lounging chairs and walls adorned with art by the local artists. And the "pick your own book out" library. The host was incredibly welcoming and explained why this coffee is so incredibly unique, not just to the mainland coffee but to the Island itself. The Cold Brew Raw Green Coffee. What makes it different is that it's completely unroasted, full of probiotics. Just ask the Host. Phoenix or his wife Kim. Place is just out of this world. Stop by and see for yourself!

My boyfriend and I had finished a few small hikes at Hawaii Volcano National Park and decided to stop here for a late lunch before heading back towards the Kona side. We found that the restaurant was poorly ventilated as it was hot and the doors were just kept open, and the wait for the food was a long time. There were a few other people before us who had been waiting for their food as well, and by the time it was our turn it was already 45 minutes to 1 hour. The Loco Moco was not what I had expected, the hamburger patties were dry and there wasn't anything that stood out flavor-wise. The macaroni salad was okay, but we both agreed that L&L tasted better. We also got a spam musubi, but it did not taste as good as other musubis, there was just too much rice and the spam lacked seasoning and sauce. Overall, this was not worth the wait, they have other items on their menu that you could try, but expect to wait for a lot longer than usual just to get your food.

The staff member (I told myself to remember her name but of course I forgot) was so friendly and attentive. There was a mildly rude customer there waiting for her food trying to speak with me about the wait and the staff just smiled and continued to be polite to everyone. I'm not sure how long the other customer waited but we called in our order and showed up before the time they said it would be ready and within a couple minutes of paying it was ready. The restaurant was clean and tidy. Will definitely be back.

Open only 3 days a week, this has become one of my favorite stops on the way to Volcano (from…read moreHilo). In fact, except Madam Pele does NOT necessarily keep to the same schedule as the bakery, would try to time my Volcano drives to coincide with Friday, Saturday, or Sunday! Hahah. Today got a sampling of Mediterranean scones (savory with olives and delicious seasonings), croissants, danish, and my favorite... the ube cruffin. Holy Moly Batman... that one item was worth the drive alone! Since there really wasn't any real estate in our tummies, we split everything 3 ways... over the course of the next few hours. Two weeks later, still thinking about that ube cruffin! Would definitely do a repeat on that as well as the Medeterranean scones while trying other items. And as the nice couple infront of us in line mentioned, will have to return for the sister deli across the parking lot. Heard it was featured in Guy Hagi's food vlog. And if its good enough for Guy Hagi its where I want to be my next mealtime!

At first glance, it may look like other small, local shops, with locally made products and a few interesting goods to browse. (I ended up buying the last 'I'iwi bird pin they had on display, which I loved!) After reading some other reviews, I realized we may have just gotten lucky because the owner happened to be in that day. Let me say this upfront: they advertise slow black coffee and they mean it! The owner (Brian?) takes his time with each customer, chatting with you to understand what you're looking for and making some suggestions. It's clear he enjoys both his craft and engaging with customers. It was not very busy while we were there, which added to that relaxed, Hawaiian vacation vibe. We really enjoyed the conversation with him and even walked away having learned a few new things. We took our coffee and other purchases to enjoy on the bench outside, along with some stone cookies from nearby. (There were also additional tables and chairs available on a side patio.) Overall, we loved both the experience and the coffee, and we will definitely plan to stop by again the next time we are in the area!
