To take credibility, I botched my own oiling job and wanted an experts help. He was thoughtful in the aspect he tried to problem solve on the spot. However, proceeded to not ask permission and took a metal wire brush to oiled leather and scratched the grain integrally. Again, not suede, but leather shoes... Oiled leather shoes. Common sense it scratched the leather....he did it so quickly that I didn't really have time to stop him. Almost like he had a thought of "maybe this will work", and impulsively did it. These are now permanent cuts along the top of the shoe, that weren't there previously. Didn't charge me anything but ruined a pair of $140 shoes physically when I just wanted to see if I could get the color to match. Very odd interaction. Awkward pause after he scratched them up. Then did not offer to even try to buff them out or oil them after obvious scratches he'd created...I didn't ask for restitution at the time because I thought I'd be kind and go home and try to buff them out myself since he didn't charge me. Follow up on my part: tried to darken the lighter shoe to match the darker as originally planned. Even though I had succeeded in that, the streaks he had created persist through leather. 2 month old shoes were ruined in the two minutes he handled them. Perfer to support small businesses always. I have NEVER EVER taken time to leave a negative review on a locally owned business, but this was just THAT bad of an experience. Maybe just a bad mishap, but I personally can't recommend. I urge others to agree on what methods he will use before you give him possession of your items. He made an ammeter common sense mistake. Edit/Update: called to see if he could atleast attempt to buff out the scratches HE created. Very aggressively hung up without a conclusion. Only comment he said was, "you were there and saw I tried"....yes I saw him damage my item...Reached out via email to see if hopefully I can reach resolution. Will delete review if a resolution can be met. If this review still stands, you can assume he ignored me like on the phone. Just be careful if you use his services.

The quality of repair is better than I have experienced at any other shop in town. Willing and capable of fixing any and everything from the cheap pair of shoes that you love and wearout often, to the really expensive, intricate pair that you might be nervous to trust someone with repairing. Incredible leather knowledge and workmanship. Many of my girlfriends will only take their designer bags here for cleaning and repair. It's our go-to for resoling my fiancée's dress shoes as well. Highly recommend this place!

I showed him what had to be done and asked if it was possible for them to do it. I repeated it has to be cut out and Velcro added to other section. He said he could. Pay up front $42. Since just adding Velcro should only cost $10-20 I assumed he understood the technicality. I wanted them for a trip. I picked them up and when I tried them the next day I realized he hadn't listened to a word I said and just added Velcro to the overstretched strap. In fact they were even worse and totally unwearable. I was so disgusted I kept forgetting about it. There are signs in every inch of the shop that say absolutely no refunds. So why bother going into speak to him. I'm always struggling for money and don't want the aggravation of their arrogance. So maybe if it's leather? Anything else complicated you will be screwed

I still had another garment with them and when i went to pick it up i just didn't have the damaged garment with me. I never refused, he's lying. I said i needed to understand the process and what they would do (I'm nervous about it getting further damage) but he kept repeating that i refused to bring it back which never was the case. When i spoke to him he referred to using other chemicals to determine the cause of the issue and I'm not necessarily keen on them doing stuff i don't understand at this point. He wanted to overtalk me and not listen. Thats why i don't feel comfortable anymore. Why wouldn't i bring it back if that's how i get made whole? He's not making sense. I feel completely let down by these guys after using them exclusively for at least 4 years. They didn't call me back for 2 weeks after damaging a very expensive garment, insinuated that I'm making it up, and accused me of refusing to bring it back. I would've had no problem doing so had i understood the process/remedy but i don't really want them messing up my stuff even more. When talking to Brett about my apprehensions , he was very dismissive and unprofessional. He even stopped listening and it turned into a confrontation bc he would laugh at me while I'm talking as if my situation is funny. I don't feel comfortable working with him/them anymore. Since he said he doesn't care about my review, here it is.
