    Lobster linguine

Probably the best meal in Venice was right here at Da Carletto! It's a hidden gem in one of the alleyways away from the crowds. What a delicious find. We were seated right away. The restaurant is nice and the service is good. I had the baked sea bass and husband had the lobster linguine. Both meals were perfection. I would definitely come back if ever in Venice. Lovely little restaurant and staff, and the food is delicious.

This restaurant was recommended as one delicious experience one should have in Venice, Italy. It is a away from from the chaotic busy walkways so you get to unwind and enjoy a meal that will not only give you nourishment but leave your taste buds excited that you wanted them to have a party. My friend and I ordered their fresh crab linguine in butter sauce. So wonderfully made. We washed the meal down with peach Bellini. The experience was brought to an end with a generous plate of Tiramisu, that the waiter pleaded we try. We were not disappointed. Please please seek this place out!!!

As a USA traveler who has spent a little time working in the restaurant industry, one of the interesting things to get accustomed to is the way the restaurant industry works in Italy. Tipping, as I'm sure many of you have a read, it's not a mandatory thing. A consequence of this custom is that it is rare to find servers who are enthusiastic and motivated to provide top notch service. So, in the many visits we have made to restaurants in Rome, Venice, and Florence, encountering waitstaff who are looking to wow you is uncommon. Enter Kiro, who is the lead server at Da Carletto. From the very start of the dinner experience to the end, somehow he is able to juggle patrons in most of the cozy dining room and provide professional, exceptional, and attentive service worthy of some of the best restaurants in the US. In other Italian restaurants, I keep thinking how the waitstaff would fail miserably in the US because they are just not as incentivized to exceed a customer's expectations. But, Kiro brings it, and he single-handedly elevates a good menu to an excellent experience. I give him FIVE stars for his professionalism and service!

The food, the flavors are amazing! We had Linguini with Fresh Crab, Spaghetti Carbonara, Sliced Beef and panacota with strawberries. Everything just delicious!!! Went twice during our stay in Venice. Excellent service! Recommended 200%

Delicious Venetian food! We ordered an array of starters! Seafood Plate, Tuna Carpaccio, Tuna Tartare, and Burrata Cheese with Anchovies. Out of the all of the starters the seafood plate was my favorite! The lobster linguine was exceptional! The service was great for a very busy restaurant it's important to remember to get a reservation ahead of time. The ambiance is cozy and rich in history.

Now, did I stumble upon this restaurant while trying to avoid falling into a Venice canal and just needed a place to rest my tired kankles from the cobblestone? Yes. But...after eating here was it actually a divine intervention from the heavens above that parted the Red Sea and lead me to this heaven on earth? Also yes. I approached this Shekinah Glory / aka, heaven on earth / aka, the lords supper / aka, manna from the most high...etc. as we entered the place was empty. Which initially made me think "oh. Maybe this place isn't that good" ...wow. What a fool I am in hindsight! I was greeted at the door by "Ellen". Who, I found out was the cook and also the owner. The captain of the entire gondola. She probably even does the books and has never been audited. Queen. We chatted for a long time about stocks, crypto and pasta. She made the greatest wine recommendation and then told me what I'd like. Let me tell you. Ellen knows. She sees the future. She is a precog from Minority Report. But w/ pasta and wine. One of the best meals and experiences I've had in my time in Italy. I love her. Ellen. If you see this...will you be my adopted Venice mother? Go to this place.

This small rustic Italian place has SO much to offer. The restaurant has a very unique aesthetic, and very nice staff. The green pasta is LITERALLY the best pasta either of us have ever eaten. I mean literally, THE BEST PASTA WE HAVE EVER EATEN. every bite was a small climax. The clam pasta (mine) was extremely good as well however it really couldn't stand up to the green pasta. Free Bread rolls were nice and hot. Wine is sold by the bottle, and relatively inexpensive. For dessert we had the tiramisu. Extremely well plated. Delightfully creamy. And perfectly chocolatey. Could not be happier with our first pasta experience in Italy.

Lobster pasta was amazing and the other dishes were delicious as well! Highly recommend. We were hungry and got there at 6 so there was no wait, but it quickly filled up with reservations.

    Branzino

Da Carletto was a gem in Venice. The food was amazing. My branzino was so tasty and flaky and perfectly prepared. Others at our table had seafood pasta dishes that were delicious and the steak was tender and served with the most delicious sauce. Service was attentive and friendly. I would go back!

My wife and I had lunch here when we visited Venice for our 25th Anniversary. The lobster linguine and seafood spaghetti tasted really good and fresh. I would say one of the best we've tried in Italy! Wine and desserts were superb too. The restaurant has a more relaxed Italian ambiance. Service was excellent as well! It's a pleasant experience for us. Highly recommended! Ciao!

Lots and lots of restaurants to choose from in Venice but this unassuming restaurant is a true gem…read more It's easy to miss as it's tucked in a corner right by a bridge. Once inside they have a couple tables with small window views of any gondolas passing by. We started off with a plate of lightly fried sardines topped with pickled white onions. The fry on the fish was super light and those vinegar-y onions were the perfect pairing. We cleaned that plate. The lasagna was well balanced with the meat, sauce, cheese. The squid ink pasta was chewy/al dente with a subtle touch of seafood flavors giving the cuttlefish. It was very umami but nothing too overbearing. Delicious! It's a Family business that was been around for many years. Grazie to the friendly staff and chef!

The jovial mood with the waiters with big personalities is gone. The menu you can find online is no longer available so you get a very limited menu to choose from--nearly entirely seafood. So if you have anyone in your party that just wants pasta with a red meat sauce or a non seafood lasagne, not available. We were a party of 8. Two people ordered the scallop appetizers. Pretty presentation on shells. 3 tiny scallops in the shells. More like an amuse bouche. Totally disappointing. The linguine with clams as an entree had clams so small you almost needed a magnifying glass to see them. Couldn't taste the clams and annoying to try to eat something so tiny , and just try to eat the pasta with all those tiny shells. The baby shrimp on polenta was actually good. But again the shrimp were like tiny hatchlings tempura battered. Tasted okay except for those that were soggy from the polenta that was very soupy. I wanted the gnocchi with crab which was on the very limited menu but no longer available. The alternative was gnocchi with a sea bass sauce which I chose but didn't like at all. The gnocchi were good but the sauce wasn't at all for me. We had to continue to ask for side dishes for the bread, butter, olive oil, salt and pepper. We will not return. Poor value for your money. Plus there is a cover charge and service included in your bill which was a surprise. Very sad to see our favorite Venetian restaurant decline so much.

So we came here for an early dinner (around 5pm), kitchen is open through! Took a nice table inside by the window. Our Bulldog was welcome as well. Staff/owner very friendly, helpful and made us feel very welcome here. Inside it's a nice, cosy atmosphere. Good selection of wine on the menu as well. For all kinds of budgets. And at the counter a nice display of all kinds of seafood. Lovely place. We've ordered the Crudo di Mare plate and Spaghetti Vongole. And a .375ml bottle of their white house wine, which turned out to be a good pairing with the seafood. Both dishes were excellent! Plenty of Vongole (clams) in the pasta dish, Spaghetti were perfectly cooked. Vongole were nice and fresh and the dish perfectly spiced (not too much, which is good). A real highlight definitely the Crudo di Mare. Two langoustines (so nice and sweet flavour), two red shrimp. scallops, tuna, swordfish, oysters and tuna tartare. All fresh, all tasty. An excellent mix of wonderful fish and seafood. Quality wise along on top with the best ones we've had so far (we love Crudo di Mare). And all is nicely presented. Really made our day, this meal here. After the meal we even got some aperitif on the house. A wonderful place. Feels very relaxed, lots of great items on the menu. And really fair prices, this is a real gem here with great value. And we will definitely be back next time in Venice. Highly recommended!
