We came here for lunch on a weekday, choosing this spot because it offers seating along a canal. The staff was helpful and friendly and we got a nice seat right along the canal. Their menu is filled with appealing local eats, many including seafood. They have an interesting carafe menu for their wine, you can get wine by the glass, or in various milliliter amounts up to a liter, so we chose a liter of chardonnay. That wine was amazing, and only 17eu! We started by splitting their salad and that salad was beautiful and tasty! Made with fresh ingredients, it was excellent when dressed with simply EVOO and balsamic! Our entrées were also excellent. I loved their pesto in the Maltagliati Scampi e Pesto! The shrimp in it offered a nice flavor too! The Tagliatelle ai Funghi Porcini was a huge hit as well, especially with is being porcini season! This restaurant is a must! The ambiance is perfect for Venice. It's a quiet little corner right on the canal, with gondolas riding by. The food was delicious, especially the pesto scampi. It's a very romantic setting, but we had our 7 month old baby with us. The staff was incredibly kind and accommodating to us with the baby. This place was one of the best in the area where we were staying. We walked by earlier in the day and knew this is what we wanted to dinner. We arrived at 6:20pm but did not realize they reopen for dinner at 7pm so we found a waiter and put our reservations in for 7pm. We wandered until 6:55pm and once we returned they had our table reserved with our name on it. The menu is moderately priced and we stuck with "still water" (5€) and did not order any wine. This was a hotel recommendation so I am always a bit skeptical. It is right on one of the canals with some gondolas going by so it was a quick walk from our hotel near St Marks Square. The service was very good. The food was excellent, from the fried seafood to the pastas. The pesto with shrimps was especially good, perhaps one of the best pasta dishes I had in the two weeks there. Had dinner there with my wife. Food quality was fair. Waiter was amazingly rude. I have never had a wait staff at any restaurant literally throw me the palm of their hand for merely waving to them to get their attention. Back story, After patiently waiting for at least 30 minutes after finishing our meal, I attempted to get his attention but he would have none of it. He just ignored us. He continued to chat with friends or talk with other staff. When he finally returned to the table he seamed offended when we did not choose to order desert and after asking politely for our check, he then made us wait again just to get our check. I finally had to demand our check to his blank stare. We were about to get up and ask for the manager when he finally brought the check. As our last meal in Venice, we decided to dine right off the water. View - not so much, but we did see over dozens of gondola boats gone by. Food - quite tasty! I got the Venetian specialty again - cuttlefish fish spaghetti - al dente and well made. It's enough to feed me for two meals! My husband ordered their green ravioli in meat sauce - best ravioli we'd had in Italy. It could had used a little more sauce though! Also came in a generous portion! Although we were impressed by the food, we weren't too impressed by the service or the price. They were obviously overstaffed (8 waiters for 3 tables) yet we weren't ever checked on and had to wave them down several times to take our order. Each pasta costed about the same as all pasta dishes we ordered in Venice but with water, cover, and automatic service charge (which might also explain their lack of service), our lunch cost about 50 euro. One of our goals was to have a candlelit dinner along a canal so we decided that this would be our big splurge meal. I would recommend showing up during morning prep to get a canal side dinner reservation. This is a very romantic location for dinner as it is located on a canal with a lot of gondola "traffic" so it has ambience. The great thing about this place is that is located on a private patio so you dont have any tourists walking past you as you enjoy your dinner. We made a reservation for 8:30 pm and we were right on time. Service was courteous and food was delicious. For drinks we had a bottle of Chianti. For primi: Spaghetti cooked in squid ink with some sauteed squid. This dish was remarkable, Squid was perfect - tender and flavorful, and pasta was fresh and cooked al-dente. For secondi: Grilled Scampi. Scampi were split in half and slightly grilled. Amazing flavors! For both presentation and food quality I would give this place 5 stars. Coming from California it's hard to impress my husband and I and this place did it. It was better then all the other spots we ate at thus far in Venice. The food was delicious, large portions and extremely fresh. We ordered the black truffle pasta that was my favorite dish. Followed by the clams and angel hair. Soggy, and anything but fresh. My aunt got the spaghetti alle vongole (clams) and it was hardly edible; way overdone with a strange taste. Our tour guide later told us that this restaurant is well known to be very substandard, but hotels in the area continue to send customers to it, who knows if there's any commission based kickbacks happening.
