I'm not sure this place actually exists anymore. We went there and the awning said De Regina 1985, however the sign and menu out front was for a different restaurant (Pino en Duomo). Same with the menu QR codes on the table. Waiters were shuttling dishes from the restaurant across the street from Pino en Duomo (which also had tables around the corner). I asked the Host where De Regina 1985 was and he pointed at the awning and said it was here. We sat at the table and the menu on the QR code was Pino. I think Pino took over several store fronts. We left before ordering bc it seemed very misleading and we got a bad vibe. read more

DO NOT COME TO THIS TOURIST TRAP!!! I ordered the seafood pasta dish that came wrapped in aluminum foil shaped like a swan?? This was the first warning sign... The shrimp in my seafood was indeed NOT fresh. It was very tough and tasted very sour. I also ordered the bolognese and caesar salad. They were also very flavorless and not good. My partner and I took a couple bites and immediately asked for the check because it was just not worth eating the rest. I talked to the second manager explaining my dissatisfaction and not once did he apologize or show any empathy. His only reaction was to raise his voice at us to say that the seafood is fresh and that it was impossible my shrimp was not fresh. He was extremely unprofessional and started to get really personal with a CUSTOMER! He was not understanding nor cared that we thought it wasn't fresh. He was in his own head and disagreed with everything we said. Is that how you treat a customer?? We didn't expect to get a discount, only an apology which we didn't even receive. This restaurant is not worth your time and the service here is absolutely horrible. Don't run a restaurant if you can't take criticism, especially if your food is mediocre with a hint of expired shrimp. If you're at the galleria mall and wanting to eat something that serves quality food then this is a good place. Like all the nearby touristy restaurants around here, beware of how much their hosts try to hustle you in their restaurant to eat. I liked how my spaghetti alla carbonara came in this stainless silver bowl with the Parmesan cheese grater on top. After I grated cheese, I was able to lift up the top and eat away. The carbonara was creamy and had a good egg texture to it. Their bacon stuck out to me because it had a pan fry crisp to them. Service is a bit slow but can also be hostile towards watching you eat and waiting you to order more which can be annoying. read more

I stopped at this place based upon friends who live in Milan, which I feel gives some credence to it being near the Duomo. Mostly good stuff to say, so let's get the negatives out of the way. Okay, so I know coperto is normal, but I still don't like it. Also, I felt like the servers really hovered near patrons, which was kind of annoying. They also don't list glasses of wine on the menu, but you can get them (at a cost TBD?). Also, I did not love the comment between servers that what I ordered is what "the Americans always get." That may be, but it felt like an insult. Not cool, bro. I can take my happy tourist euros elsewhere with a kinder attitude. Now the good. I loved the outdoor patio. Again, not unique to this place but I enjoyed that it was a little hidden from the hustle and bustle of the Piazza del Duomo. They seemed to have heating lamps or something, as I wasn't chilled on this otherwise cool night. I thought the Prosecco on the house served when first seated was a lovely touch (and decent Prosecco at that). I ordered the tagliatelle Alfredo, which may have been the best Alfredo I've ever had. Yes, I'm American. (I promise I've had other dishes while in Italy this time around! At least I didn't order a burger and spaghetti like my lunchtime table neighbors!). The servers were certainly attentive. Soooo all in all, I give them a good review based on their food alone. The snide comments could be left at the door (or in the piazza, if you will). read more

Very nice restaurant with central location. Service is great! Each guest welcomed with a glass of Prosecco. Waiters are happy to help with menu. Portions are not huge but enough to feel good after eating. We had seafood stew and president salad as starters. And pasta with octopus as a main course. Everything was delicious and fresh. Wow... I can't really find the words to express our experience at this place. Food was extravagant and the service was top notch, nod to Our waiter Dominique and his partner, who did excellent. At first I was a little skeptical coming here since it is so close to the Duomo and Galleria, initially thought it might be a tourist trap but glad I was wrong! We had a caprese salad to start, a Margherita pizza, both were outstanding and tasty. That seafood dish we had though, that was out this world, fresh and exquisite. Our homeboy Dominique hooked it up with limoncello, meloncello, and pistachello as dessert and Damn Fam! I was super happy leaving this place. I know wifey was too.. MOVE ON - a ton of other great places around. I guess they treat english speaking folks like idiots ... we were given & charged for bottled water we did not ask for .. but the most disgusting thing here is that they charged us 6 euros for ... wait for it .. wait for it ... NAPKINS! .. yep, the cloth napkins you use when you sit down to have a dinner .. This restaurant is in a prime location. It is a close walk from the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. We wanted to go to a nice restaurant where we can enjoy the outdoors for lunch and we found this place on yelp. We were greeted by the host and were seated shortly. Our server was very friendly. The service was pretty quick and fast. They have a pretty big menu with antipasti, pizza, entrees, and pastas. We ordered a bottle of prosecco, margherita pizza, and spaghetti alla carbonara. The pizza was mediocre. It was not hot enough, which made us wonder if it was freshly made. However, the flavor of the pizza was good. I just wish it was warmer so the mozzarella would be stretchy as I tried to take a bite of the slice of pizza. I do have to say, coming from America, it felt weird using a knife and fork to eat pizza. But we conformed to the people around us. The spaghetti was so delicious and cheesy. They gave us a grater and a block of parmesan cheese for us to grate in our pasta. Overall, we enjoyed our experience dining here. The price is pretty reasonable too. Got in thinking it was a tourist trap and I left feeling just another local enjoying the best its city has to offer in gastronomy. I cannot put in words how good and high quality the food was. Perfectly cooked and seasoned, very authentic and real! Service was outstanding and the ambiance and location could not have been better. The prices are beyond reasonable, one of the less expensive places in the city given the high quality and elegance of the place; I wish I had discovered it earlier in my trip so I could have visited more. The absolute BEST seafood pasta we've ever had!! (And with a LOT of seafood!!) The buffalo mozzarella with the prosciutto was also fantastic- more so for the prosciutto actually! - and the risotto with saffron was also very tasty but not as "out of this world" as the other dishes. Red beer is better than anything I get back in Germany lol full bodied but not too heavy. Only con is that I felt the wait staff was ready to take my plate, but the food was definitely giving you value for your money. Definitely making it my top recommendation for Milan read more

You don't have to be rude to tourists if you charge such high prices. The person taking the order was incredibly gruff and unconcerned about my order. The food was great though and the spritz was what I came here for. I ordered a Cesar salad and a filet Mignon with potatoes. Very good choices. The bill had a strange charge for 3 Euros and I was told it was an automatic charge. I am not sure if this is a Tourist charge or what. I had no choice but pay. You cannot tip with a credit card. Didn't have very high expectations, we happened to be in this tourist area in time for dinner and this place seemed a bit cheaper than the other restaurants around. My tomato pasta was ok, I bit undercooked. My husband's carbonara though... Just a plate of pasta, heavy cream and scrambled eggs. They also charged us for extra water that we didn't ask for, and the fee just for eating there is €5. When they realized that we just wanted a main meal with a still drink (and not a bunch of starters, wine etc.) they kind of stopped caring, got kind of rude and didn't even say goodbye when we left. We took the advice of multiple reviews online and only ordered the pizza here. It was mind-blowing. We had the margarita pizza. The crust was amazing. It was probably the best thing we ate our whole trip. We regret not ordering another pizza because we didn't have time go back, as we initially hoped. Avoid!!! Food is way below average. Ordered pumpkin & squid soup, purée is way too salty and I gave up eating it after drinking half bottle of the water, soup is very oily as well. Ordered chicken and mushroom noodle, noodle was a little undercooked, but still acceptable. Chicken is definitely not acceptable, extremely dry, no taste, some large pieces are even cold inside. Just arrived in Milan after visiting Lake Como, Venice, Siena, Chianti, Todi, Tuscany, Positano, Cinque Terra... hotel here recommended Da Regina. Our only bad restaurant experience after two weeks all around Italy. Can't speak to the food because we never made it that far into the meal. Super rude maitre d / waiter (i.e. the nasty guy bossing everyone around). We ordered food and "one glass of wine". He sent another worker over with a bottle of wine. I stopped him before he opened it explaining we only ordered one glass, not an entire bottle. He said he didn't speak English. The waiter came back over angry waving his finger at my wife yelling at her saying she said she wanted a bottle of wine. I tried to get him to calm down but he wouldn't, even though said bottle had still not been opened. We got up and left. We informed our hotel staff who made the recommendation what happened in our experience. Not recommended! read more

This was by far the worst dining experience I have had in Italy so far (having been here for 4 weeks). Not only was the pizza I ordered more oily than any human could possibly handle, but the manager of the restaurant was very rude to our party. To his defense we were a large party of 20 trying to pay one ticket in cash so it did take us a while to get everything together, but there was no line at the cashier and the manager physically took money out of our hands and gave it to the cashier without letting us count it, and then actually pushed us out of the way with his hands. I will never go here again and I wish I wouldn't have wasted my time on a restaurant with such a rude manager (not actually 100% sure he was manager, but he seemed to be in charge). As you walk into the restaurant you immediately feel like you've stepped into a business that knows what it's doing. I was immediately greeted with a warm welcome and escorted to my table. The waiter actually let me choose which table I wanted, which was nice. The ambiance is nice and inviting. Several wine bottles are displayed on the walls which fits the dark decor. I ordered the spaghetti carbonara which was rich and creamy. In every bite there was chunks of panchette which was great. Not my favorite place to eat in Milan. First on all there was a line to get in and they are unorganized with getting people seated. Second, everyone in there is running around and I actually got a whiff of BO from a server. Gross! That was just the beginning. I had one day in the city to eat so I wanted to test a few things. When I mentioned this to my server, he exclaimed that one dish was enough for me! How rude! I order the spaghetti and it was bad. I have had plenty of pasta in Many parts of Italy and it was disgusting. So I asked for the Margherita pizza. It came with one random salami in it. Seriously?!?!?! At the end the same guy who insulted me by telling me I was ordering too much, gave me the check and told me that the tip was it included. This place is a joke!
