4/5/24 - We'd been walking around and liked the look and aroma coming from this place. Besides vines and flowers, the outdoor dining area seemed to have mostly locals. If it had been a little warmer and less windy we'd have wanted to sit there, but we opted for indoors. It wasn't crowded when we arrived but got pretty busy soon after. We were seated immediately and loved the "old world" feel of it. The menu wasn't large but all the choices were of interest. We asked our server recommendations and he suggested a Chianti and Mamma's Ravioli. Since it seemed apparent that Mamma, or at least her family were on site, we agreed with both. They came quickly along with a lovely bread. The Chianti was a lovely house wine and paired well with the ravioli. While the ravioli portion wasn't large, they were wonderful! There was no rush to get us out even though we did not order dessert. We have no idea when we might be back to Milan. However, having been treated like good friends, we would surely want to return to this GEM of a restaurant. read more

Our tour guide recommended this restaurant to us. So we went there on 6/4/2023. Food was definitely 5 Stars our Waiter unfortunately was only 3, maybe 2 stars. Our appetizer was Fillet carpaccio with parmesan. The carpaccio was very good the parmesan was excellent! Lynn had Amberjack tartare with pomegranate, chives and toasted pine nuts which tasted great and I hadn't had Schnitzel in a very long time, so ordered Cotoletta alla milanese con chips di patate (aka Wiener schnitzel with potato chips). It was also very good. I'm not sure if our waiter was upset because Lynn was practicing her Italian on Day 2 of our trip or because I was not doing the ordering. He seemed to chat up all of the other tables in the restaurant. The final straw was I'd ordered a second glass of wine that never showed up. I reminded him of this after I'd finished my dinner (the wine glass was sitting on our table, quite empty) and he then offered a free refill, but at that point I was kind of done with it. We came in a group of 7 and ordered almost everything on the menu.. From the free polenta with ragu to the fruit tart dessert, everyone loved every single dish with no misses. The only thing slightly negative we had to say was the lack of staff available that day. It took us a while to get the server's attention hence, it took a while for our food to come. This place gets a 4.5 but, I'll give it a 5 since the only negative comment was that the place was understaffed. read more

We came here for dinner because a previous restaurant didn't work out. We ordered the ravioli with cognac (fancy version of penne vodka sauce but with cognac, overall it was okay), pasta with seafood (good but the noodles aren't fresh. They taste like they're from a box) and fish over potatoes. It was eh. I should have known better since it's close to Duomo but it was getting late and we were hungry. I was a bit disappointed because we were paying so much for this dinner but couldn't even eat homemade pasta noodles. We had lunch for half the price and perfectly al dente noodles near our Airbnb. read more

Made a reservation and ate here last night for dinner. Clean establishment located near the Duomo and walking distance from my hotel. I had plate of prosciutto with melon (yum yum delicious) and a plate of the house ravioli which was also delicious. The restaurant quickly filled up with patrons and was busy. read more

Great meal here last night with food that just kept on coming out. The restaurant has a really authentic Italian feel with very little English spoken and plenty of hustle, bustle and local chatter that makes you feel like your in for a good meal from the moment you arrive. We were there with locals which helped to guide us as to what to pick from the menu. We ended up with 4 courses, the first was a chefs special Ragu with polenta which was lovely. Second was a delicate mushroom tagliatelle with a very light garlic sauce, again lovely. Third was a huge t bone steak with roasted vegetables and white beans on the side with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Along with all of this was plenty of bread and limitless san pel. That was the savoury done. At that point we moved to the dessert and I had to have the tiramisu of course. It was light fluffy and tasty, just the way it should be. This was a fantastic meal in a great restaurant. I recommend you give it a try. read more

Being right by the Duomo, I thought it would be touristy and the food would be mediocre. When we got there, there were many Italians dining. Got there around 9 on a Fri night and just walked in. We enjoyed everything we ordered. The king crab salad had lovely vinaigrette that was light. I also loved the sweet cherry tomatoes. The crab probably wasn't the best quality, but it was still decent. For dinner, I enjoyed the grilled filet of beef, which was the boneless part of the T-bone steak. I ordered medium but it seemed more med-rare to me, so I had to send it back. Italians love to eat their meat med rare, but I couldn't handle it. It was a tasty piece of meat! My hubby ordered the risotto with pumpkin and cheese. That was yummy as well. I was disappointed that they didn't have risotto with saffron, which is a classical Milanese dish, but we enjoyed the pumpkin risotto because we love pumpkin everything. They had a lot of interesting dessert choices, but decided to go with a berry cup and vanilla gelato. Glad that they offered a lighter dessert after a hearty meal so late in the evening. We checked this place out because of the Yelp reviews and we were happy with our choice. Thanks Yelpers! Great place to have dinner! We had their Mozzarella Tomatoes, Ravioli with Cognac and Ham, Mixed Grill Fish/Seafood, Grilled Vegetables and Tiramisu. Everything was very good but mixed grilled seafood was the best. Service was great as well. Their free vegetable starter was tasty too. We were taken there with a tour group. I "went along to go along.". I wanted to return to Le Specialità on Via Calvin where I'd already had one great meal. I ordered branzini filet "grilled." When served, the portion weighed about 5 ounces (I am probably being generous). My wife ordered grilled chicken breast; also a tiny portion when served. Both dishes were served with grilled veggies: 1 thin slice of zucchini each, 1 half Belgian endive each and 1 thin slice of another veggie. I had a glass of house chianti, my wife had sparkling water. The food was tasteless (no artistry, no seasoning). We paid €58 to walk away unhappy and hungry. Please compare this review with my two meal review of Le Specialità. They DID bring me 2 complimentary bags of gluten free breadsticks. To be fair, others in our group seemed satisfied with their meals; notably those who ordered the enormous t-bone steak for two. read more

The worst place that i ever been in whole Italy. We waited for nearly one hour there. Service is very very slow and bad. Never come again.

Wonderful restaurant and food! Food: The pasta and seafood were both amazingly fresh. Their flavors are subtle but nonetheless delicious... and their bread!!! It's freshly baked with olive oil and we had to remind ourselves that we couldn't fill up on bread. We ordered the veal loin and zucchini pasta.... both were so yummy we cleaned our plates. To top it off, they gave us free bruschetta and cookies! Service: Most waiters spoke limited English, but we were lucky enough to find one who spoke English well. But no worries, they have an English menu. And they were very nice. Price: With the service fees, the tab adds up quickly, but the food is good so it's worth the money. Location: Conveniently located near the shops and touristy area of Milan. It was easy to find. Ambiance: Fresh seafood at the front and it's brightly lit. It's more of a group spot than date spot. We were there for lunch on a weekday and we were the only non-Italians. We were also the only people who weren't wearing suits. It's definitely a legit local spot! read more

My husband & I just had dinner here. We were supposed to go to our hotel's restaurant but decided to come here instead. And we are glad we did. We came here around 7:30pm and no reservation needed. They did fill up around 8:30ish though. They gave us complimentary bruschetta starters while looking over the menu. We had the tomato mozzarella salad for appetizer. They also gave us complimentary freshly baked homemade focaccia bread, on top of our table bread & breadsticks while waiting for our main dish. We ordered the grilled T-bone steak for 2 people with grilled vegetables. Holy moly! It was more like for 3 people!! It was huge!! And oh so good! We absolutely love this restaurant. Kinda reminds me of a Mom & Pop restaurant. Really good food and great service!! We were quite full to order dessert but our waiter still gave us a small thing of dessert. I think they're bread pudding but really good as well. It's just a walking distance from the Duomo Cathedral. Highly recommend this place! read more

The pasta is homemade and omg, they are amazingly delicious, so good that I just had to go again the next day! One tip, no fresh seafood on Mondays because boats don't go out to fish on Sundays. If you come during fall and early winter, definitely get the Tagliatelle with funghi, my favorite! We came in with a party of four last night after reading the reviews on Yelp. They do add 3 euros for bread and sitting. I originally ordered the Grilled Sole, but they ran out so I substituted the Grilled Mixed Fish. That was a great call as I received Tuna, Calamari, Rocket Fish, and Shrimp. It really a nice grilled taste to it. Our party also ordered the Oso Bucco, Risotto, and Ravioli. The food was excellent. The desserts looked great, but we were stuffed. read more
