This was nearby our hotel in the Centrale area. It came recommended by the hotel staff checking us in. It was closed Christmas Day but luckily we got to try it the next night. We came around 7:15 and were able to get seated right away. I suppose that's early-ish for dinner in Italy. The menu is via QR code on the table and available in various languages. We each got a bowl of pasta: Lumberjack (which is a provolone cheese sauce with mushrooms), the Carbofunghi (which is like carbonara plus mushrooms, and good ol' ragu, which the kids have been enjoying. The pastas were all very delicious. I love that every pasta dish I've had here is consistently cooked perfectly al dente. We also got a slice of tiramisu but was too full so go it for takeout . Miscusi is a good pasta joint but I wouldn't say it is the best. It is a casual pasta spot that you order via online and they bring everything out to you. You can customize your pasta or choose one of their traditional ones. To start you can get a bread basket. For lunch, I ordered a custom made pasta with rigatoni pasta with pesto genovese sauce topped with some burrata. The rigatoni was a little too al dente and on the harder side. The pesto sauce was underwhelming to my liking. The entire pasta was mid. I also got carbonara and subbed the spaghetti noodles for tagiatelle. I enjoyed this one much better. So for one evening we stayed at an Airbnb in between going from one city to the next so for dinner that evening we just wanted something simple and convenient so we found Miscusi which was only a 5 minute walk. Overall the food was good and reasonable priced. As many other yelp reviewers have commented, the place is not fussy, there is plenty on the menu to select from and overall the food tastes good. Also the servers speak english so ordering is not an issue and food comes out rather quickly so if our looking for something quick and not a 2 hr meal then i would definitely recommend this place. After seeing all the positive reviews I decided to give it shot. The menu is basically "make your own pasta dish". You select the type of pasta (its all handmade), select the sauce or style you want, and select any toppings. I went with the bruschetta, which was not traditional chopped tomatoes on bread. This had 3 spreads: pesto, buratta, and sun dried tomatoes. All were excellent and fresh made. The pasta i didnt know which way to go, so i took the recommendation of Ragu d'Cortile with mushrooms. Had the Pacchero Tricolore pasta which has the most splendid flavors of pistachio and creamy ricotta cheese mixed together to make for a memorable and flavorful experience. The Carbonara we had was also divine - super saucy, rich, flavorful, and the pork/bacon flavors came out beautifully. Lastly my friend had the Bolognese which was also good. Tip: Definitely splurge on the toppings/add at least one to your dish if within budget. This place prices their items relatively well so you don't end up spending that much even with extra toppings. Plus it means everything is customizable! Also if you're a fan of fresh cheese get the Burrata please. Also loved that this place felt like a restaurant, but was casual enough that it didn't feel like fine dining. The interior is cute, hip, and homey with checkered napkins to add to the decor. The "serve yourself" free mineral water is fun; I've never seen this feature before, and more joints should get on board with it. Found Miscusi while randomly walking around Milan, Italy right before our train to Cinque Terre. We were looking to find some food to grab for our 3 hour train ride. The host was amazingly nice and helpful in trying to assist 2 tourists that speak English only. Not to mention, there was a long line out the restaurant and still received wonderful service from the host. We were escorted to the To-Go order section to place our order. This was the first place my friend and I stopped at when we came to Milan; we were looking for the best pasta we could find and we definitely found it. The food is fresh, simple, and customizable, although you can also choose from a number of pre-set dishes too. An added bonus: almost every table has a basil plant, so you can pick your own basil for your meal. I got the carbonara with sheep ricotta, which was wonderful. Miscusi I moved to Milan a month ago and this has become one of my go-to's. It is officially in my lunch rotation and never disappoints. This is basically fast food pasta on steroids, in the BEST way possible. You order, pay at the counter, get handed a buzzer and while you wait patiently for your food whilst salivating, you can grab some free water, sparkling water, + bread... each table also has a fresh basil plant-- IS THIS REAL LIFE? So while you wait, you can harvest your fresh basil for your pasta :) They're also SUPER quick + efficient. I mean, who churns out fresh pasta within 5 minutes? The atmosphere is also super laid back/unpretentious yet it's somewhat elegant and farm to table all at once! Get there by 1230 to avoid any lines. If you get there at 1245, the line will sometimes be out the door! Now onto the important part- Order the paccheri w tomato, burrata, pistachio and pistachio cream and you'll thank me later.
