Get their buffalo cheesecake!! I wanted a 2nd one even though I was super full. Definitely the best cheesecake I've ever had and I don't even like cheesecake and wouldn't have ordered it if it wasn't for all the raving reviews here on yelp. Service was warm and quick. Portions were a good size. Between two people we ordered 2 apps, 1 pasta, 1 fish entree, 1 meat entree, and 1 dessert and it was a little too much, but yolo. The app sizes were bigger than we expected, and can easily be shared between 3-4ppl. The octopus app was super tender and had a nice char. The zucchini flower stuffed w/ ricotta was interesting, and had a mild profile. The genovese pasta was delicious. The sauce was just perfect, but the braised beef was not the most tender. We also order their grilled fish and rib-eye. The grilled fish was nicely cooked; the skin was not crispy but still tasty; not a disgusting soggy mess like some places can be. The rib-eye flavors were good, but the meat quality could be better and it didn't seem like it was dry aged. Overall a great meal in positano. I would go back and reorder their octopus, pasta, and cheesecake. read more

Best meal we had in Positano!!! Hands down!! Very attentive staff and delicious food. They don't take reservations after 8pm so be prepared to wait- but they give you complimentary prosecco which makes the wait go by quickly! Must tries include the grilled octopus appetizer with fried artichokes (which is big enough to be an entree), spaghetti with clams and the rigatoni with meat sauce. Edit: after eating grilled pulpo as well as spaghetti with clams several times during our trip, this was the best iteration of both dishes!! Do not miss out! We didn't love the calzone appetizer so I'd skip that. The house wine is reasonably priced and it's delightful. No need to splurge on an expensive bottle of wine! We shared the limoncello dessert and it was really good. All in, 90 euros for 2 people for a 3 course meal. Highly recommend the trek down (or up) the hill! My only regret is that I didn't eat here more than once when I was in Positano. read more

I cant say enough wonderful things about this restaurant! Not only was this the best meal I've had during my time here but also the service! It was the best tiramisu I've ever had and that's my go to dessert! The views was great! Make sure you to make a reservation because it's also packed and some nights booked solid. Was a little underwhelmed considering it's a Michelin restaurant. We made a reservation and had no problem getting our table, that was great. What made the difference was the waiters rush. You could tell he was in a hurry and it felt like we had to rush out orders. Granite there was a line down the street but regardless his attention and detail would have been very appreciated considering it was our first stop in Positano so we were unfamiliar with local cuisine. We couldn't order starters without having our entrees to place with the order. Once placed the timing was great on the food, but the food was underwhelming. Yet another really great restaurant in Positano! Very cozy and home-like on the inside and lovely on the outside. The wait staff was all very pleasant and knowledgable. I highly suggest that you take their recommendations for food and drink pairing. I ate here multiple times. My favorite main courses where the Mezzi Paccheri and the Paccheri. The Mezzi Paccheri came with mussels, potatoes and pecorino. The Paccheri came with a large helping of assorted seafood (mussels, clams, fish, shrimp, octopus, squid and cuttlefish) all in a phenomenal tomato based sauce. If you are not a fan of seafood the bolognese is very good. It is a bit different than what you get in other restaurants but very enjoyable. For antipasti I ordered the rice balls (a local favorite), panzarotti (think mozzarella sticks, but in packet form) and the grilled octopus (all on different occasions). All were great. And if you like seafood I highly suggest the grilled octopus, which comes with artichoke. The wine, digestif (let your waiter pick these out for you when you order dessert) and dolce were all enjoyable as well. I highly suggest the local Tramonti red for a wine. Their carafe is decent if you are on a budget and not terribly picky. For dessert the tiramisu, the cheesecake, the chocolate almond cake and the Millefoglie are all great. Their dessert menu does change. But some staples, like tiramisu and the chocolate almond cake are almost always available. One last thing, the waiters do take your order on their iPhone. So do not be surprised! The most important thing is to sit back, enjoy and slow down. read more

We were very underwhelmed by our experience here, a disappointment considering all of the great reviews. The restaurant is very cute with great seating both indoor and outdoor. We started with the mini calzone appetizer which we found to be dry and could have used more marinara. My boyfriend and I each ordered a pasta dish and it took FAR too long. About 50 minutes after we ate our appetizer we had still not gotten our main dishes (and we had ordered everything at the same time). Eventually I started to feel sick (unrelated to the restaurant, although it was quite hot inside), so we asked if we could have our pastas to go. It took about 15-20 more minutes for our pastas to come out, and at this point we had been waiting over an hour. We were surprised since the people around us seemed to be moving along. When we finally got our food (fusilli genovese and orichiette), it was pretty good but didn't live up to our expectations. Da Vincenzo is located about 1/2 way up the main road on the west (north?) side of Positano. The atmosphere is nice, but don't even consider getting a table outside unless you have a reservation. We were there at the end of October (pretty much off-season) at 6:30 p.m. and still sat inside. The service was adequate and the food was fine. Nothing special and the prices are pretty high. My tiny bowl of tomato soup was 13 Euros. If it had been 5, I still would've thought it was expensive for the portion, but was good. However, at 13, it needed to be amazing and it was not. After that disappointment, I opted not to order an entrée. My mother had a pasta that was too oily and lacked flavor and my sister had a giant bowl of oysters, which were good, but the tomato broth was not excellent. The tiramisu was very good, so there's that. Also, the house wine prices are really cheap. So go for wine and dessert, with reservations for the patio. read more

This restaurant was highly recommended. The atmosphere is lovely and the open kitchen is always a good sign. Service was okay. They seemed to forget about us as it was a bit busy and we had to try and get someone's attention to get a cup of coffee long after we were finished with dinner. As for the Entree's they were good but portions are a bit small. The pizzas looked amazing but we had already ordered our food otherwise we might have ordered one. The servers were lovely and they spoke English and Italian. Overall a good experience. I would recommend going, try the pizza :) read more

I really enjoyed Da Vincenzo. Everything from our appetizer to the desert was tasty. The thing that makes this establishment stand out was the service. Our waiter, was so personable. He explained how this was his families place, and that he lives right above the restaurant. The location is beautiful. We sat outside and enjoyed every aspect of the meal. A delicious place. I recommend sitting inside, as the outside tables are too close to the road & from what we saw, you end up inhaling car fumes for most of the evening. We had 2 antipasti: fried octopus tentacles served with fried artichokes - tasty & unique combination, but probably a one time only experience for me, and calamari stuffed with seafood salsa - very good albeit a small portion. Then I had spaghetti alle vongole - very clean tasting, simple dish, A. had grilled seabream fish which he devoured. For dessert we had exquisite tiramisu with dessert wine - such a good combination. The service was impeccable, the atmosphere great. With a bottle of wine and a 3 course dinner our bill came out to be around 100 euro - very reasonable. Highly recommended. read more

I was in Italy for 18 days and Positano for 7 days and this was by far the best place I went. We had unbelievable wine and beer and I had steak with a side of spaghetti and ate every last bite of it. Got the recommendation to check out this place from a couple locals. Other people seemed to have gotten the tip as well cause a reservation was basically needed even on a Monday night. Food was good. However it is truly a tourist trap. When we questioned the cover charge they told us it was for the bread. When we told them that the bottle of wine was bad they told us too bad. We decided to sit inside since cars are about 5 feet from you when they drive down the main road and we did not feel like combining car fumes with our meal. Fair at best. This is the first time we have been disappointed by yelp reviews while traveling abroad. The food was just ok. We tried several fish dishes and appetizers. My amberjack tasted a little fishy and the sauce sounded better on the menu than it did in my mouth. The tomatoes salad had 7 cherry tomatoes and was a HUGE bowl of arugula. There are much better restaurants in town for a lot less money. The only thing good was that they sold half bottles of wine. My wife is pregnant so I'm drinking alone.
