We bought marble tiles for a fireplace facelift and had an issue with the materials received. On Saturday morning we went to the store to see if we could exchange some. Monique assisted us and asked the warehouse manager David to help us. Turns out he wasn't supposed to be there, so we got lucky. David helped us with our exchange and we were able to get the right materials. Excellent customer service from everyone who helped us. I went 3 times with guidance from my designer before I was planning on having him meet me there and had to practically beg to have a question answered. They were NOT busy, several people who worked there were making small talk, and yet they didn't see me as $$$$ possibly because I had my baseball hat on and forgot my heels. Anyway, after the 3rd time, I finally was able to mention my address and my project size and had someone following me around asking me every 5 minutes if I needed anything. We are in the process of remodeling our kitchen and master bathroom. We went to Da Vinci Marble to get inspired. Monique helped us and was so helpful, so knowledgeable and deserves the credit for all 5 stars for my review. I guess she has worked as a designer for the last 20+ years and has designed many many bathrooms. She was so helpful giving us ideas on how to make our bathroom look custom without spending a fortune. We are still in the early stages of planning but will definitely be back. We bought a large slab of quartz for our countertop/sink area when we redid our kitchen this fall. Lisa Bradley Haaga was my designer/salesperson and such an expert! She truly has an eye for blending colors and styles. She found a complimentary color and material to go with our existing granite on the island so we did not have to replace everything. She offered suggestions but left room for us to make the final decisions. She also located the backsplash tile we'd installed years ago and secured a great price on replacement pieces. too many employees - not enough help. 5th of july. arrived at 2pm. 4 receptionist sitting at the front. never been there b4 so asked if need reservation. no response. reception was gr8 at pointing ('our inhouse at backwall - just walk around'). even went back to the front to ask a question ('can any tile be a backsplash? no response). after an hour, my partner left in disgust. stood in front of the 4 receptionist (i was the only one there btw). finally proclaimed 'i am ready to order). reception relunctantly got up to find someone. 90 minutes since arrival - nothing in hand. drove from santa cruz to be ignored and dismissed. if i wanted that kind of service, go to home depot. at least they are cheaper. read more

We were undergoing a complete kitchen renovation and after visiting numerous tile/granite retailers (visited 20+ places in the Bay Area), we purchased our tiles and backsplash at Da Vinci. We ended up purchasing our granite slab at IRG in Brisbane - only because Da Vinci did not have the specific granite we were looking for (with that said, they still have a very solid selection of granite, marble, limestone, etc.). Everything looks fantastic and the prices were agreeable. Over a month span, we worked with a couple designers at Da Vinci and they were both very professional, knowledgeable, and provided excellent guidance during the consultation. And judging from what I saw of other designers working with their respective clients, I think the same could be said about everyone who works there. The only negative is that the place can be PACKED during peak hours (weekdays near close and all of Saturday) ... that comes with the territory of having store hours that aren't too friendly (would be great if they could extend their hours to 6pm on the weekdays and maybe tack on a couple more hours on Saturday) but seems to be the norm for most tile/granite businesses. Seriously, if you work regular hours during the week, your best shot is Saturday ... and it's a short 5-hour window. With that said, I would highly recommend calling in beforehand and scheduling an appointment - especially if you have a near-term project in mind. If you are still in browse-mode or simply window-shopping, feel free to look through Da Vinci's many fine products ... but don't expect a designer to drop everything to help you. Overall, I'd like to give Da Vinci a 4.5 but since that rating is not possible, I'm going to settle for a 4. read more

Yes, Da Vinci is pricier than other tile stores. They are worth it. My designer turned me on to this place. Unfortunately I quickly saw that the designer was not going to be a fit and let her go. The staff at Da Vinci (Milana I think?) were just fantastic, stepping in and helping me figure out what I needed to do to finish my order and get it delivered in time. They were knowledgeable, sympathetic to my situation, and absolutely sweated the details. Before we had parted ways, the designer had ordered a huge slab of marble for me - WAY more than I needed. So I was left with this expensive piece of marble and didn't want to throw it away. I called Da Vinci and they really went above and beyond to help me figure out a great solution.They were under no obligation to do this. Bravo, Da Vinci. I'll be back! read more

I bought my tile here and the women that helped me simply said, if you have leftover tile, no problem return them... Once my bathroom was completed I had a box of tile that I did not use (estimated price - $120.00). When I called to return them, they said, sorry you only have 30 days to return them. Who finishes a remodel in 30 days - my bathroom took 5 months? I also spoke with a 2nd women whom was suppose to handle the return, and she said someone could call me back about the issue. Still waiting... Their customer service sure could use some help. Disappointed :( read more

Super disappointed.spent thousands on tile, recieved 40-50 bad tiles. Ended up cutting to make do as I wouldn't have enough to finish job. Da Vinci refused to help in any way. I'd recommend not buying tile from them. One lost customer today and future thousands of revenue lost. read more

Had a good experience here looking for backsplash tile and countertops. We were greeted promptly upon entering, and given a quick tour. Da Vinci has beautiful product. We spent around $15000 on slabs, back splash, and flooring. For that, two stars. The missing three stars goes to poor customer service: rude workers, people who don't call back, returns being difficult. We had some positive interactions of course here and there but overall the lasting impression was dissatisfying. Our whole renovation process was excellent except for the times we had to go to or communicate with da Vinci. If we did it again, we would find another location even if further from our house. Note: I had had a negative review before and I deleted it because they reached out apologetically. Unfortunately, the poor quality in customer care continued as we moved forward with our designs. read more

I agreed that the store had some very nice selections but I also agreed with other yelpers in regards to their service and their knowledge when it comes to natural stone tiles. Sales girls has no idea about the grading of natural stone in Crema Marfil I needed. This was particularly important because it was for my up and down stairs flooring in the entire house and I wanted a clean premium marble to avoid all the variations and veinings. It was very unfortunate that I had more knowledge than the actually sales person but worst of all, she ignored me and told me to look around and took off----this was quite upsetting as I thought this would be easy finding one color, one single materials of 3 thousand Sqft with a 40k budget on the marble. From other yelpers, if you look young or look like you don't have money, they will ignore you or might give you an attitude and take off. Never the less, i found what I wanted with the best service and best quality than anywhere else on natural stone tiles down the street. This is a good place to look around only and get ideas but honestly can't say much what they can offer unless you look like your worth a billion bucks. read more

Went there today looking for marble for a large kitchen remodel. Asked for help got this girl named Oma. She took us around but she showed no interest in helping us giving excuses why she didn't want to move any marble for us to see. Da Vinci has many good sales people but this girl was disinterested in helping. Excuse after excuse. Finally we gave up and went to another marble store. There we did get the customer service that we needed and bought all the marble needed for our remodel. As far as tile stores goes, this ones great! They have a well put together display room which show cases a wide variety of selection as well as puts pieces together to give you design ideas. I came here because I want to redo my fireplace from brick to marble, I walked in, within 30 seconds I selected the marble I wanted to go with. They're pricing is more than probably most other stores, you're paying for the customer service on top. The people here are willing to sit down with you to review your designs and help you with measurements. They are patient and willing to spend time. Their selection of marble and tiles are pretty extensive, I'd at least come here to get some ideas and see the variety first hand. read more

I would give this place 5 stars but the price is on the high side comparatively. My husband and I spent painstaking months visiting all the showrooms, really. It was horrible but we had 2 new bathrooms to design and wanted to get it just right without going over budget. Well, way over budget we did go but the results were gorgeous. You should stop here and look for ideas and get a quote. Definitely use one of their designers (Danielle designed their showroom and was easy to work with) to draft options of tile layout, that made a huge difference in helping us decide. Then get a price. For common items (granite, marble, plain solid colors) you might be able to get them elsewhere but for the accent pieces, this place really has EVERYTHING from the design magazines. I found DaVinci after going to 15 different slab yards in the bay area and buying stone from a difference place (see my MSI review). DaVinci was a lot more expensive than MSI but worth the price difference. After my slabs from MSI were delivered cracked, I ran to DaVinci for emergency help. I found a stone I loved and unlike the cheap stone I found at MSI this one came from Brazil and was processed in Italy and came with Antolini grading/etc. So obviously a better stone. And worth every penny. the Naica quartz was beautiful and so hard and durable. Absolutely no regrets. We LOVE our kitchen counter - favorite part of my house remodel. Back to DaVinci- they helped me find a replacement stone and delivered it free to my fabricator. Customer service was perfect from beginning to end. Prices were a bit steep which is where the 1-star ding comes from, but overall definitely a different class from some of the other places I went to. Also, they have a great selection of kitchen tile/backsplash and their designers are great at working with you to find the perfect match for your stone. We ultimately got our backsplash elsewhere since we were on a time crunch, but still appreciate the design input from DaVinci. Kali is the best! read more

In the winter of '12 we decided to update our bathroom floors and kitchen countertops and backsplash. Having time between assignments we took this project on without a designer or a general contractor. We visited a number of tile, granite and marble stores from San Jose to Burlingame. I started with the bathrooms. Neighbors recommended a person who could do the installation and paint. I visited Da Vinci one afternoon and Erika Medina helped with questions and allowed me to take out samples as long as they were returned early the next day. We decided to go with the 12"x24" porcelain tile and Erika helped with ordering. I returned to Da Vinci after visiting a half dozen stone shops. We picked out a beautiful piece of Quartzite and put on hold. Erika once again came to the rescue with her knowledge and experience assisting us with picking out the slab, assuring us one slab was enough for our particular job and recommended a fabricator. The fabricator Carlos Garcia did an outstanding job. Erika suggested we install the countertops and then pick out the backsplash. Once again back to tile places to select the backsplash tile and once again back to see Erika. Da Vinci has a vast assortment of tile with competitive pricing. We selected Island stone with the help of Erika and ordered. Being a novice at this I found that ordering sinks and faucets even new refrigerators and stoves you could purchase at generally better pricing over the internet. Tile and stone is a different story. We were lucky to find Da Vinci and Erika for our project. Job completed 3/13/13! read more

It is like going to a fine arts museum when looking at the mosaics and delightful designer style tile selection. I appreciated the honor system in being able to check out tile and mosaic samples. They have an awesome selection of beautiful marble, limestone, etc. We worked with one of the designers, Diana, and she was very patient and helpful. I do agree with others - while it's great Da Vinci is open on Saturday, it can very busy and they can be very shortstaffed. You can schedule an appt with one of the designers, but only on the weekdays and not on Saturday. Choosing the surface materials for our kitchen and bath remodel was time consuming and a bit traumatic. We visited Bedrosian, Terico, Da Vinci, All Natural Stone, plus a couple of others. We were looking for options in the mid-range -- not the granite you find at Home Depot and not the highest-price exotics either. What we found at Da Vinci was a wide range -- we admired some of the most beautiful stone we'd ever seen and could not afford -- plus we found many options in our price range. Most importantly, we found the service to be great. We were helped by a number of different people all of whom were very knowledgeable, polite, and responsive. We worked mostly with Rose Garretson who I recommend highly if you need good taste and advice. When we went to our fabricator to decide on the lay out she noticed some marks on the stone which were really hard to see (but were definitely there). We thought "uh oh"... this will be an argument. When we called Da Vinci about the problem they immediately made arrangements to get us another slab. It was great customer service. So, save yourself some trauma, and check out Da Vinci. If you want to work with a designer, call Rose. It's a busy place all the time, so be sure to make an appointment and leave yourself a lot of time to work through the process. read more

Truly excellent tile selection. Lots of stone and mosaic options, lots of glass, some metal, and of course lots of ceramic. Very wide price range available -- I started off looking at a gorgeous stone mosaic, then realized I was spending 10k on the floor for a tiny bathroom; luckily, they had just started carrying another option for less than 1/3 the price! I found the slab selection lackluster -- go to IRG or to Pietrafina for stone, not Da Vinci. Designers are knowledgeable and very patient and willing to spend time with customers. Definitely make an appointment, however, since it can be difficult to get help otherwise since they stay busy. read more

Davinci's selection of material is diverse and of high quality, their prices competitive with other stone and tile providers in the Bay Area and their staff is superb.
