Our house was remodeled in the late 60s and all the bathrooms were done in theme colors (pink, yellow, & sea foam green!). I didn't want to replace the green tub but wanted to find something that helped tone it down. Harvest had a great sale on their glass mosaic tiles so I thought I'd go take a look. I wound up finding a tri-colored green glass tile (one of the colors matches our tub perfectly) that looks great with the tub and makes it an interesting element in the new bathroom instead of an eyesore. Once we had finished tiling, we realized that we had an entire box unused. Harvest said that, with a small re-shelving fee, they'd take back the remainder. My husband and I started our kitchen remodel in late September 2008. We gutted a 50 year old kitchen in a 90 year old house. By the end of October we have a fabulous new kitchen. Harvest Kitchen happily took us from enduring a 1930s era kitchen, remodeled to the 1970s age of Formica just before we bought the house. In 2014 it finally dawned on us that we might spend more time in our kitchen if we actually liked the way it looked. We stumbled upon Harvest Kitchen and instantly liked the styles, which had a comfortable resemblance to one we liked in a chain that had alarmingly bad consumer reviews. If you're redoing your kitchen, you should certainly give them a look. (They're 1/2 block away from a Habitat for Humanity outlet and a fun thrift shop, too.) The store is owned and operated by a nice young couple, very intent on pleasing us with intent attention to our wants-list, and to what we should know that we weren't aware of. They also said their manufacturer is not the same one that the chains use. In detailed planning for our space and its appearance, Xing (husband) made and shared computer mockups of how they would look in our kitchen (dimensions provided to him) that brought on further epiphanies of what to consider. We bought extra lengths of shelving once we realized we would have more vertical space for shelves than the old system. We selected a wall, pantry, and floor cabinetry system in honey oak at a very reasonable price, to which we matched a quartz counter, backsplash tiles, ceiling lights, appliances, and vinyl floor. (And tore out part of a wall to better display the cabinetry and supporting elements.) When our old sink turned out to be too big for their sink enclosure, Harvest Kitchen had the right sized sink instantly available at a decent price. (Comforting to know they would carry appliances fitting their cabinets!) We just returned today, 6 months after installation, to buy a length of crown molding after dithering over whether we wanted to put the pantry cabinet against a wall or have it free-standing. If we ever decide, we'll have the molding in hand to attach it. It is nearly impossible to describe our delight in how the cabinets were not only well-made and handsome, and also nicely compatible with the other modern elements, after 35 years of cooking in a 1970s-tacky environment. I won't claim my cooking now tastes any better but the dishes certainly LOOK better!! read more
