I've been wanting to get a tattoo for a while but I didn't know where to go. After passing by this shop a few times, I finally decided to check it out. Upon arrival, my sister and I were impressed by how clean it was. The interior colors weren't dark but vibrant. The artwork on the wall wasn't intimidating, and the workers were present but definitely about their business. As we spoke to the front desk manager, she provided us with details about pricing, scheduling, and leaving a deposit. On the day of our appointment, we spoke with Tiffany about the design and she presented ideas of how to improve it. She was professional, courteous, and flexible. This being my first tattoo, she made me feel comfortable by describing what to expect, which helped to calm my nerves- her pink bedazzled tattoo gun helped as well. One thing I appreciated was the extent they took to sanitize the room after each person was done. All in all, Tiffany did an amazing job! She is a passionate artist who takes pride in her work. Davinci tattoo is WAY OVERPRICED! I went there this past Friday to get some dainty line work on all my fingers . (I've attached pictures of the reference photos I gave them.) THEY WANTED $500 PER HAND!!!! Holy shit Davinci count your days because you will not be open much longer charging like this! Also for comparison I went to wyld child in merrick and they charged me $300 total instead of $1000!!! It started really well, up until the last session. Tiffany was suppose to cover up a piece of old tattoo, but I did not see it until I took off the wrap and washed it. She did a black and grey, so the colored ink from the old tattoo is still showing. It's like the rest of her work is perfect then bam, it's like a light bulb turned off. The other thing is I emailed her twice. I waited like 9 days to write her a second email (how we normally correspond)and no answer. She usually is pretty quick to answer her emails. I might have to go to a diff tattoo place now bc I'd never wanna go back there. update: FF 3 months. I'm pretty happy about my sleeves, up until the end, (pic attached). It's part of the cover up and after the last session, I made an another appt bc there was a red heart I wanted to cover up, she attempted to cover it up with white ink , but she didn't tell me to come back or not, so fast forward to about almost a month, it's still pretty red, so i went back, and when I left, it still looked the same . I was out of town for a month and it's still red , so I went to a Brooklyn tattoo artist and I was told that it shouldn't have been covered in white ink the first place, and the flower design shouldn't look the way it is. She said that only thing she can't do is counteract the white and use black ink. This pic is current, I'm still not happy about it, but it was better than before. I just thought that maybe it should have been done correct the first time, so whoever artist fixed it shoudnt have had the problem. I'm not scolding the artist, bc she did a phenomenal job. The last artist said that if someone can't do a cover up, it should have been left to someone that could, so damage could have been prevented. I still don't regret my decision, and maybe i'll think of something else to cover this one up. read more

Today I had an appointment at a different tattoo shop with an artist who had done a piece for me before. I arrive at said destination to be told that my artist had quit. No one called me, no one told me, and I went into panic mode. I had remembered that my family friends had gotten tattoos at Da Vinci before and I immediately picked up the phone and called, because I was determined to get the tattoo today. I was told to come in and to ask for Marc. I walked into the most immaculate tattoo shop and was greeted immediately. Marc came by and helped me decide exactly what I should get. A few moments later, I was taken his room and prepped for my ink. My intention was to get a small treble clef behind my ear. The tattoo took less than 10 minutes. It is perfect. But because it took such a small amount of time, I decided I wanted to get a bass clef on the other side. Marc made it happen quickly, and it was perfect. I am so happy with my tattoos. Tiffany was given the art for my tattoo ahead of time. When I arrive, I had to wait 40 minutes for her. This was my very first tattoo so I was excited. She was not prepared for me at all. She placed the template on my inner leg several times for it only to be crooked. As for the text under the image, that was completely crooked too. Mike Ciasullo had some time between scheduled appointments so he took me a half hour later. Super nice of him. They gave me one solid price for the outline and another for outline with color with the option to do either depending on how long I could sit. The place is super clean, organized and staff is friendly. The line work and colors are amazing and I completely trusted his ideas in the process. It looks beautiful. The healing process was perfection. I spent 4-5 days with a solid piece and once i peeled it came off like a sheet in the shower. No scaring, no blown lines. Perfect. There are many talented artists that work here and I'd come back for any of my tattoo ideas even some of their own because they do really beautiful work. I first came to davinci in 2018 or maybe early 2019(not sure)- my sister and brother in law were getting tattooed and my husband went for a walk in, and it must have been a miraculous slow night because I was able to get a small walk in tattoo done the same night as well! I was looking to get a memorial piece, half sleeve, done and went to 10+ different artists prior to going to Da Vinci. A buddy at work recommended Kris Magnotti as he had a small piece done by him and that it really popped off his skin. I arrived and was greeted at the door, asked for Kris and he popped his head out. Talked for about 5 minutes and he excuse himself because he was in the middle of inking someone. He asked Justin, the piercer, to take a quick measure of my arm and he would draw up something. I was to come back in one week to see the design. A week later I showed up, saw the stencil and cried as Kris did exactly what I asked for... he made me, for lack of a better term, "feel it" (sorry, only way I am able to get how I felt across as there are no words for it). I love my tattoo. Kris is a phenomenal artist and a great person. The shop is clean, there is flash everywhere to look at and everyone there is great to chat with. There are always having a good time and that makes you at ease when it comes to getting inked. I plan on getting more work done and will go back to Da Vinci for it. The staff as a whole are friendly and professional. The shop is not only stylish and a pleasant environment, but immaculately clean. I had time to review the portfolios of the different artists, got my questions about who would be good for me answered and made my appointment (with a deposit fee). On the day of my appointment, I arrived and met with my artist, Vaughn and went over what I was looking for. He went in the back and made a sketch of the design, we made a few small adjustments and the tattoo was then done with all of the expertise that I could hope for. I live over an hour away from this studio. When we're they going to let me know my appointment was unavailable? When I showed up and she wasn't there?! So I reschedule and then find out I have to have surgery the day before my rescheduled appointment. Clearly not able to keep this appointment I ask if they can refund my deposit due to medical conditions and the employee told me no. I feel disgusted that I even considered going such an inconsiderate studio. Good luck! UPDATE: (5/10/17) This studio is awesome. Don't let my above review deter you. Once I was able to make an appointment I could keep I am so glad I did. Artist Jaclyn Huertas is phenomenal and I would 100% drive all the way back there to be tattooed by her again! I was lucky enough to find a great tattoo artist (Chris K) at Da Vinci's a few years ago through an old boss of mine. I feel sometimes Yelp doesn't do companies any justice, especially since there are way more complainers than people putting in a good word and two thumbs up! Everyone at this shop is extremely friendly and I've never once had a problem. This shop in a great location. When you walk inside there is always someone to greet you. The shop is is extremely clean and is well lit, unlike other hole in the wall shops located near the area that are dull and dingy. As I said before the staff is friendly, knowledgable, willing to help, and they all have a sense of humor. For those who gave less than 4 stars on yelp for someone who is looking to be tattooed and or new to a shop take the time to review your artists work. When you walk into the shop there are pages amongst pages in portfolios belonging the artists at Da Vinci. It is okay to ask questions and I cant imagine any of the guys here to become irate or unwilling to address the needs of their client. Also, for those who claim this shop is expensive I beg to differ. Many shops have a minimum dollar amount regardless of size of the tattoo and many artists now charge by the hour. I truly believe you get what you pay for. Da Vinci has been around forever! and it is the only shop I'll ever set foot in and Chris K. is the only artist I'll go to. Although he is a coverup artist, I decided to have him do mine. He worked with me on price (which was awesome) and helped me scale the design so I would love it, and work with the price The experience would have been a lot better if Ray did not have an attitude. I was absolutely not okay with him giving me attitude when I asked a bunch of questions. Being that it was my first piece, I had a few questions that I needed to be answered before I got it. Nothing crazy, more about sterilization, aftercare, and even what I should expect to feel when getting it.
