A hidden gem with an amazing view. The staff is incredibly friendly and always ready with a good joke. The food is unique, flavorful, and thoughtfully crafted, with plenty of vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, and seed oil-free options. They also offer a huge selection of local drinks, which makes the experience even better.

Great spot! The sandwiches were awesome! The server helped out quite a bit on explaining the menu. Appreciate that! Really like how it's open aired business. Enjoyed the breeze and all the stuff to look at on the walls.

Phenomenal find! We have a 3.5 hour layover before heading home. Needed a place close to the airport that was open late. They're currently open until 8, but they said they are moving to 10pm soon. Great prices and food is fantastic.

This is a fun, small place in an out-of-the-way location. It's the second floor of a two story commercial building on a side street. It's worth finding. The food is great and a great value. It can get crowded - we had to wait for a table. You order at the counter and then they bring it out when it is prepared. We ordered two sandwiches and a salad. I really liked the pulled pork (Richard's Pickle). They did not have a liquor license when we visited, but indicated they will be getting one and opening later when they do.

Landing or departing from Kona? Have extra 2-3 hours before heading to airport? Give this place a try!!!! So goooood!!!!

Cute location above Costco and Home Depot. It's a sports bar with a fun, eccentric flair, beautiful view, and delicious sandwiches! I tried the Richard Pickle, which is a cubano-inspired hoagie made with pulled pork, melted swiss, a dill pickle ranch slaw, and sliced pickles. The first bite provided a burst of flavor I did not expect. Really delicious! Service was friendly. They even offer to keep your drinks on ice since it's BYOB (for now).

    Pork belly special - delish!

These sandwiches are stupid good. We randomly stopped here to get away from the Kona crowds, and very hungry after a long tiring tattoo session. We were not disappointed. Tried pork belly, bacon and salami special, with a lemon garlic aioli that was homemade and delicious. The restaurant is a pretty cool spot, the owners are Eagles fans but have some cool and fun memorabilia throughout the shop. As Bills fans we did appreciate the homage to Josh Allen.

Freaking awesome sandwiches and mac salad, plus some great vibes to go with it. Very happy we found this place!

Awesome Sando Shop! No. 6 - Richard Pickle - Tender and delish smoked pulled pork with a subtle chipotle honey mustard a few sliced pickles, dill pickle ranch slaw, and a spattering of crushed salt & vinegar potato chips. Given the name I was hoping for more sliced pickles or pickle flavor in the ranch slaw but otherwise it was a fantastic sando. The garlic bread roll alone was amazing. The melted Swiss was in there somewhere and added to the mix of fabulous flav. Also kiddo approved. 5++ stars! No. 1 - Big Sean - loved the smoked beef with the local BBQ sauce and melted cheddar. The sliced tomatoes were super fresh and the black pepper ranch slaw and French's crispy onions really made the sandwich. Excellent brioche bun as that side of black pepper ranch was the perfect dipping sauce for the sandwich and just about anything. So super good. 5+++ stars! Leave it to Portlanders to bring the creative deliciousness. We'll definitely be back every chance we get! The Dragon Balls and Blast Unicorn sound magical so we'll look forward to trying those next time!

We saw a sign claiming seductive sandwiches and had to give them a try. Well worth the stop! The ambiance is very friendly and relaxing with a view of the water. The staff was super friendly and helpful. And the Food.... So delicious! We tried a couple of the sandwiches and the table went silent until the plates were clean. Defiantly a great place to stop for lunch or an early dinner.

Landed and wanted a quick bite. Whoa! This place did not disappoint!! Flavors were spot on and their spot was inviting. Service was quick and friendly! So good! We liked it so much we made sure to plan a stop on our way back to the airport! Definitely recommend!

We had dinner prior to a late flight. The reviews were really good so we gave it a go! Yum!! The sandwiches are huge and delicious. The service was awesome. You order at the counter and they bring the food out to you. We had the Long Sean. The smoked beef had a bbq sauce with a kick. The slaw on the sandwich was crunchy and the bread was toasty and had a great crust. We sat and watched the sunset.

Richard pickle. Pulled pork. Slaw, & pickley goodness

Laverne's is one of many good bars and restaurants along the water in Kona. It used to be Humpy's…read moreand still has the same vibe. They have a downstairs bar and tables, plus another larger bar upstairs that connects with their dance floor and bar, plus goes on to connect with the neighboring bar and music venue. There are restrooms both downstairs and upstairs. I've been here many times, and am always appreciative of their draft beer selection. They have a great collection of old tap handles around the ceiling, many beers and breweries that no longer exist. On our recent visit, we had a great bartender/server who was attentive and quick with orders. Beer glasses were clean, beer cold and fresh. They have a large menu of foods, including brunch earlier in the day.

Stumbled upon Laverne's Sports Bar on a rainy day while looking for somewhere close to our hotel,…read moreand I'm glad we did! The place was pretty empty -- probably due to the downpour outside -- which honestly gave it a really chill, laid-back vibe that we ended up loving. Heads up if you're parking in the back: we scanned the QR code and it came out to $50, which felt steep. Not totally sure if that's standard or if we did something wrong, so just be aware before you scan! Inside, there was only one waitress working, but she was accomodating and even let us split our bill, which is always appreciated. The food also came out fairly fast, which was great since we were starving. I went with the chicken sandwich and fries -- the sandwich was perfectly moist and juicy, not dry at all, which is exactly what you want. Hit the spot on a cold, rainy day. Might possibly stop by again next time we're in the area - minus parking in the back lot. Great little spot if you want something low-key and satisfying.
