A great little local brewery. We walked in for a break from the heat. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The air conditioning was blowing but only seemed to move the warm area around.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The main seating area has a limited table selection.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But let's get vwck to the beer and food. The food selection is okay with the highlight being the fish burger that is wonderful and deep fried cauliflower is another highlight for food selection. The beer selection is very good, after all this is a brewery. From pilsner through porter all of the boxes for me. The service here is pretty good with ordering at the bar for food and beverage. There is another brewery just down the street that might be a slightly better choice.

    You have arrived.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Great ambiance, staff, drinks, food, convenient parking, outdoor seating, dog and family friendly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Every time we visit we end up here, looking forward to visiting their Hilo location soon, too. Distilled spirits, locally owned, hard seltzer and tea, tap beer and flights available. Bao buns were on today's special when we ordered at the counter. Hubs had fish and chips, and our friends split an Ola Burger, my vegan and GF beet salad was the bomb.

Decent crowd due to the World Cup. They have plenty of drinks due to their brewery. They also have a nice selection of food (for a brewery) but it is a bit pricey for bar food. For instance, $20 for a smash burger. Anyway, good food if you don't mind the prices. We stopped in for a drink then left to eat elsewhere.

Ola Brew isn't as well known as Kona Brewing, but it's a nice alternative. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's very casual, and mostly self-serve. You choose any open table, and walk up to the bar to order.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's a water and utensils station that you help yourself to.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I don't drink beer, but the folks I was with enjoyed their beverages. As for the food menu, it's not bad. There's some salads, some pizzas, and some "favorites". What we ordered: + Beer battered cauliflower - not bad, but a bit too much batter. + Fried fish burger - yummy - fish was crispy and flakey. + Chicken wings - winner + Pepperoni pizza - quite good if you like your crust bready, which I do. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall, a chill place to hang out and enjoy yourself.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

We had difficulties finding a dining spot near our lodging without a long wait. Thankfully, Ola Brew was able to sit us immediately. Started with flight of Hard Juice (enjoyed the Lilikoi orange and GLO). Lechon was crispy and well-prepared. Dan Dan Gnocchi was an amazing experience: Pillowy gnocchi infused with Asian-influenced sauce (slightly sweet, a bit spicy), topped with peanut, aliʻi mushroom, gentle and well-balanced.

Great stable food with some of their beer samples. Service was a little slow considering it was not crowded.

Ola Brewing has something for everyone - beer, seltzer and hard juice. Husband got a custom flight and I ordered the dragonfruit lemonade. They even gave me small tasters of other hard juices. The beet salad was delicious and a nice option to get those greens in while on the island. The wings were a little dry but crispy and not fatty. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area. Reasonable pricing. Super friendly bartenders. [[HIGHLIGHT]]TVs playing sports if that's your thing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Free street parking

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Great spot to watch a game and enjoy some beer and food.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There are a few spots in the front lot but additional street parking available. We ordered the roasted beet salad with chicken and 6 buffalo wings. The food came out fast and had great flavor. The bartender was very friendly and provided us with recommendations not only for Ola but also in the area. He even switched the tv to a game I wanted to watch. The beer was also cold and had numerous options. I opted for a flight initially which you get to choose any 4. Highly recommend checking them out.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Relaxed, modern establishment in Kailua Kona.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Locals and tourists come here to enjoy some brews and good food.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I liked the variety here; there's a number of flights to choose from and you can have beer, "hard juice" or seltzer. Order at the bar and they bring it to your table. Food came out quick and hot. The chicken wings were crispy with a light tempura batter. Smash burger was awesome and fries were crispy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Music was upbeat and fun, without being too loud.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Would definitely recommend this as an alternative to nearby Kona brewing!

I love a good brewery so I had to check out Ola when reading up on where to grab a drink on the Big Island. They have a small parking lot with a couple spots but it's in an industrial area so there's street parking. Throughout the time we were there it was great to see the staff engaging with the regulars and be so welcoming. The space is a little unassuming at first as you need to order inside but they seem to have plenty of connecting indoor spaces and even outdoor spaces for large groups. We opted for bar seating so we could watch the game while we enjoyed our flights. The flights were a great way to try their classic beers and some of their seltzers.

This girl loves herself an Ola brew, hard seltzer, and hard tea! Even better to get it off the tap vs a can when on Oahu. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Love the large bar and friendly staff.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food choices are varied and I enjoyed my selection. Definitely a must stop when in Kona!

Very nice place. The Farmers salad with chicken was very good and enough to share. I ordered the Bami Bao and hitch was outstanding.

Trivia is on Monday evenings at 6 pm.

Is there a tour of the brewery? And is there a cider, seltzer or tea flight? Thanks!

Not sure about the tour, it wasn't offered when we were there. But they do flights of all their drinks on tap. You can pick anything you'd like for the flight including ciders, seltzers, and teas.

Can you bring food from outside and just have beers? Thanks!

Aloha Will, Unfortunately, we do not allow outside food anymore as we have a great in-house food…

    Are kids allowed?

Absolutely! We just ask that they do not sit directly at the bar. Thank you for asking! And thank you all for answering as well!

Would you go here for a 10 year anniversary? We will be doing a romantic dinner/sunset walk on the beach in the evening and I wanted to surprise my husband with something different...…

Kids fine. Romantic dinner. No. It's great tacos. But very informal

Can you bring food into the brewery?

No outside food is allowed. They have a full menu.

    Do they have happy hour?

Not that I know of. Message or call them for a firm answer though.

Our guide,…read moreMark, was incredible--he kept everyone talking and he was genuinely interested in hearing everyone's travel stories. He was very knowledgeable and provided us with a wealth of fascinating information about the island. After a comfortable van ride, we hiked a beautiful trail that led us to a series of truly stunning, pristine waterfalls. We were treated to a delicious lunch from a local deli, and we loved that it was served in eco-friendly, completely reusable containers. On the way back, we made a perfect final stop at a local macadamia nut store. It was a fantastic experience from start to finish, and we recommend it!

The color of Mauna Kea with the moon shining on it was so magical all around us. There were some clouds that cleared pretty well by the end of our star gazing. We were the last ones up there so it got dark enough to see more than you'd expect with the moon. Jeff, our awesome tour guide, used a laser pointer to help us see the constellations we usually can't back at home. The images on the digital telescope like nebulas, the moon & star clusters were an amazing addition to have as keepsakes. My husband and I felt he made the tour a great balance of learning and fun. He had the group feeling like family before we even left from the pickup lot. Things to consider: I do recommend following the moons cycles booking this tour/your trip if this is especially important for you to see as many stars as possible. The sunset and views of the observatory's make it awesome anyways :) I struggled with altitude sickness around 12,000 ft. Jeff had made sure to let us know beforehand if we experienced any issues to speak up. I was hesitant as I know it would mean turning the whole tour around, but some tingling turned to dizziness and then a brief fainting. He immediately stopped the bus and helped ground me and make sure I was completely okay & coherent before letting me know our options for the tour. We made it up to the top with 2 more (included in tour) stops and I felt better with each one having more time to acclimate :) Thank you Jeff!! You handled this so professionally and I appreciate your check-ins for the rest of the trip. It's cold even with parka and gloves. It's so worth packing warm shoes and layers. The bus had ac and heat so that was great! Do it if you can! Awe-inspiring! Such an unreal environment that makes you wonder about so many things. Just take the precautions seriously, move slow and breathe deep.

We also happen to love astronomy, which made the stargazing tour an easy choice for us. It was also extremely important that we selected an experience that offered *small* tour groups and was locally owned and operated. Drew was an absolutely fantastic and entertaining host. His enthusiasm and knowledge shines through the way he spoke non-stop from the moment he picks you up. On this tour, we visited Bay View Coffee Farm, Punalu'u Bake Shop, Punalu'u Black Sand Beach, Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park, and stargazed near Mauna Kea. This was a LONG tour, but was filled with so much fun that time flew by. Although we missed Kīlauea's most recent fountaining episode (51) by a few days, Drew still made time for us to catch the lava glow which was super cool and a highlight of the tour. Our weather was not super favorable with thick, overcast skies; and my partner and I actually gave up on our hopes of stargazing. But Drew is so observant of the weather that when a window to view the night sky opened up, he did so. He provided thick coats to those that needed them and spent some time pointing out different stars and constellations. By this time in the evening, it was really cold and we didn't mind our limited stargazing time. We truly enjoyed our experience, as well as Drew's expertise and respect in regards to Hawai'i's culture and history. We highly recommend that you take a Wasabi Tour early in your trip (like first day if you can), and then you can tailor the rest of your Big Island afterward.

We did a 2 day package encompassing the islands most beautiful waterfalls, nature reserves, botanical gardens, volcanoes, beaches coffee farms on old town Hilo. On our first day with Jason our driver and guide picked us up on time and with a smile. He shared his knowledge along the way wearing a microphone in the van so everyone could hear comfortably. At the attractions he was with us giving us history of all the waterfalls. Whiles driving he told us about the sites inbetween. At lunch time he provided us a delicious meal from a local restaurant. Day 2 with our driver Derek was in another new van that was also comfortable and roomy. Derek took us to a working coffee plantation to see, smell and walk through the farm. At Kīlauea volcano national park where we got to see upclose and personal the caldera in all its majesty. All the time telling the history and recent activity of the volcano. We saw and walked on a beautiful black sand beach with segregated sea turtle nesting area where we saw a turtle swimming ashore and resting at waters edge before digging a hole in the black sand to lay her eggs in preparation for the next generation of turtle, we walked down and into a 30 meter lava tube and got to visualize the path of a whole lotta molten rock traveling through centuries before. Culminating the day's trip by stopping on a mountain top in almost complete darkness, the moon was in a waxing crescent and producing very little nighttime light. We bundled up to stay warm in the 50 degree Fahrenheit temperature to stargaze. It was refreshing in the cold air, outside the van huddled in a group while Derek pointed out, planets, stars, constellations and galaxies as we stood in awe of the majesty above us. Wasabi Tours, Jason and Derek were on-time, safe, informative and most of all fun to spend our time with. I highly recommend taking a Wasabi tour to REALLY see the big island. Thank you all!
