I don't care how good their product is, they lied about finding nails on the roof ( blamed on roofer even when we told them they were siding nails) and kept "calling the manager" to get us to sign that night even though I told them there was no way it would happen. I had a very uncomfortable experience with DaBella The representatives arrived around 2:30 and spent a long time talking about the company. When I asked them to keep it brief, they continued going off on tangents. When I requested a quote to be emailed to me, they refused and insisted on presenting it verbally, repeatedly going back to their phones and even leaving to go to their car. By 4:00, I still had not received a clear quote, and I explained that I needed to leave to pick up my daughter. Despite this, they continued to barrage me with pricing and information. As I walked them to the door, one of the representatives put his foot in the doorway to continue talking. At that point, I felt shocked and scared. Even after I firmly told them I had to go and closed the door, they remained outside my home until I left around 4:30. This was a very frightening experience. They did not respect my time, boundaries, or repeated requests to end the visit. I would strongly caution others, as they refused to take no for an answer. read more

Since my last review I have received an average of about 5 calls a day and that is even after I've told them that I never filled out an online request, do not need a new roof, and have just hung up on them. They never stop. I will never use your company and I can't believe you are still in business. Stop pestering people. Be better. read more

DaBella put a new roof on my house. The crew put the roof on and left with no communication! Then I find sagging shingles and a rotten fascia board that is falling. In addition it rained and the water is running down the fascia board in other areas of the roof. Spoke to a general manager who told me none of this is Dabella's problem. Told me to find a handyman! Concern #1- Treatment of Subordinates: I scheduled a consultation (bathroom remodel) through a door-to-door salesman. Before the employee could leave, I was required to have a telephone conversation with his supervisor. This exchange served no other purpose than to verify the employee spoke to a "real" person and he wasn't lying about my scheduled appointment. There are so many reasons why this was inappropriate but I'll let you draw your own conclusions. Concern #2- Professionalism / Reliability: The DaBella Service Specialist never showed up. Concern #3- Communication Infrastructure: Later that week, I discovered two voicemails from two different phone numbers. I was unaware of this activity because one extension I already blocked (unknown when or why) while the other phone number was automatically redirected into my blocked messages because AT&T identified it as Spam. A reverse search confirmed both phone numbers originate from my state's Dabella Field Office and these extensions have been "red-flagged" by local consumer protection groups for questionable business practices. I made the huge mistake of having my gutter installed by DaBella after their high pressure pitch. After the gutters were installed, the fascia board was left exposed to the elements. I contacted management to have this issue resolved, they said that was not covered or not is scope. The exposed fascia board was an issue they created and they refuse to do anything about it. Do you like high-pressure pitches from sales people who only know how to follow a script about their company's history and have no interest in what you actually need? Do you want to spend tens of thousands of dollars with someone who can't answer basic questions about the product or the terms of the contract? That's who DaBella is. They called me after I used one of those websites that shares your project information with the entire planet. I told the caller I needed to repair or replace a door. We set up an appointment for their rep to come look at it. When he arrived, I showed him the door and the damage. He commented on it like he was interested and then told me they don't do doors. He thought he was coming to a window appointment. Bad start. I should have ended it there. He tells me they do siding and he can measure for a quote. I say okay, but I tell him the exact measurements and ask for a ballpark so I know if it's worth bothering. He deflects, so I let him go take measurements while I go back inside because I'm working from home. He knows this. He walks around yanking on my siding - which I definitely have not yet decided to replace. Then he comes inside and wants to talk. He shows me video of himself pulling hard on my siding to the point of lifting it. WTF? He starts in on his script. I let him talk briefly, then I interrupt to tell him I am not interested in the history of the company. What's the price? He pretends that his phone is slowly generating the price and it's not ready, then continues with his speech. In response to his assertion that the paint is baked onto the siding and guaranteed not to need painting for 15 years, I ask questions: Q: When it does need repainting, who repaints? Does DaBella do the work? A: He doesn't know. Q: How does the paint have to be applied? Brushed? Sprayed? A: He doesn't understand my question. Q: What if I think it needs repainting within 15 years and DaBella thinks it looks fine? How are the warranty terms defined? A: He struggles and says, "That's what contracts are for." Q: How do you match the baked-on finish when repainting? A: He says to ask the installers. He even claims that no other customer has ever asked questions about the paint. He acts shocked every time I use a word like "soffit" or "Tyvex" and keeps saying, "You really know your stuff, huh?" Each time I tell him to cut to the chase, he asks some belittling question like, "Do you even know how Kelley Blue Book gets their averages?" "Do you even know what the ROI on siding is?" "Have you ever sold a house before?" (Yes, yes, and yes, BTW.) I was way too nice to this kid. He took an HOUR to get to the price even with me telling him to wrap it up so I can get back to work. The price for my small house was $47K. I already have a quote to paint the existing siding, which is in good shape, for $6K. I have a vinyl installer coming tomorrow who already gave me a ballpark of $20K. So obviously, $47K is not happening. I told him directly that I would not be giving him any dollars and that he wasted my time. He spent the next half hour refusing to leave my house as I repeatedly told him he needed to go. I walked to the next room and started answering emails to show him I was DONE. He proceeded to call his manager multiple times while packing and unpacking his bags. He tried to get me to set ANOTHER appointment with him. He tried to get me to write a check for $5K and agree to an INDEFINITE monthly payment of $400. Bemused, I asked for how many months and he didn't understand the question. I asked again and he said 15 years. Sooo...a total of $77K??? I reached a breaking point and told him less politely to GET OUT OF MY HOUSE. Get out, go now, you need to leave. We recently had our house re-sided and decided to use the James Hardie siding from DaBella. The sales person, Lauren, was very knowledgeable and gave us good information about the product and the service. The installation company, SGO Construction, provided extremely efficient and talented workers. They made sure the worksite was clean each evening before they left, and did a very professional job. We are very pleased with the James Hardie siding. It looks much better than the old cedar shingle siding we had before, will be woodpecker-proof, and should last a very long time. We would have given the entire process a five-star rating, but the communication from the office was spotty, although very friendly. Three times after we signed the contract a person called to apologize that the salesperson had not shown up for our appointment. Each time I explained that she did show up, that we had signed a contract, and were very pleased. After the work began, three other people called to ask if we were still interested in completing the project. Again I explained that it was already going along nicely. After the work was completed we had a pile of unused material in our driveway. It took eight weeks before this was removed, after multiple calls and visits from several people ensuring me the material would be gone quickly. Overall we are very happy with the siding and the project, but if doing it again, I would make sure not to give the the final check until everything had been completed. read more

i will give a one only to the salesman- who is good at his job. the rest of the process was the worst experience I've had with a "contractor". the project was scheduled and the instsllers were no shows on four separate occasion. there was zero communication until I called customer service. after the install, I unfortunately signed the paper work without a thorough inspection. once I did a walk thru there were multiple areas that are completely unacceptable. I called and left a voicemail but got no return phone call. I now have to pay someone else to fix their screw ups. I also had called and asked that some of the leftover boxes taking up my driveway be picked up. They have yet to do that. if you do any home repair, steer clear of this company! read more

We were upfront with the rep that we weren't going to make any decisions until the end of the week and wanted a ballpark to compare to other contractors. It didn't matter. First we started with an hour of corporate history, strangely in-depth but vague explanations of Every Single Layer Of Roofing Material, an accounting of every award won by the company... it didn't stop!! Then the upselling started. We just wanted a roof quote. Not gutters. Not windows. Not siding. Just a freaking roof. 90 minutes in, the numbers started. First I was asked how much I was willing to pay per month and what I would put as a down payment - without any idea of how much money we were talking about. the first estimate was ridiculously constructed and was for replacing EVERYTHING, including the wood sheeting, on our well maintained and newer home. See where this is going? The Shock and awe tactic where the quote for what we actually want seems reasonable by hour 2... and those upsells? Well, they're required to get a discount. but only if you sign right now. oh, you don't want to? Let me call the office and see if I can get the price down. here's my new price - only if you sign. Right. Now. I'll give you 10 min. ... repeat... x3 I lost 2.5 hours of my life. Still refusing to sign a contract, the rep kept on pushing, telling me they never return to houses! I was going to miss out! *sigh* I had to kick the rep out of the house because they wouldn't leave at the end. Even if these guys turn out to have the lowest price, we won't be using them.
