Hello Everyone i just want to share my personal experience with this company. First of all this review is for a roof project, shutters and attic insulation. The salesman Joshua Atchu, was great he came to our house and explained the whole process for the project. The nightmare started later on when the actual project was actually executed. Previous the instalation the project manager John Maile came to our house and talk to my wife to get all the dates and things ready for the instalation day.That day the project manager wrote down on his on the checklist template that the shutter color we were picking was black. Inmediately my wife told him that we wanted red but his answer was that the color wasnt going to be a problem because that was just a paper work and that they would actually call later on confirming the color for the shutters. (First mistake) at the end she forgot and signed the paperwork. They told us that in order to do the insulation, the roof had to be done first. The roof project date had to be changed 4 times because of bad weather. I soon realized that the company had a very bad internal comunication because they never told the insulation department. So they ended coming trying to do the attic insulation even thought the roof wasnt done yet. I ended sending them back. We received a call from customer service to confirm the shutters color my wife told them red but they said they didnt have that color.. at the end my wife told them that we would like them to be white and they agreed. The day the roof was done (Saturday) the shutters didnt arrive i spoke to their supervisor and he told me to forgive them that they would install it next friday. The guys finished the roof and it was actually a very good job. At that point i wasnt complety happy because of the shutters but they promised they would install them next friday. On friday they never showed up. I called them and i was told that they had a problem with the shipping process and that the shutters never arrived to their facility. They also said that they would arrive tuesday and we rescheduled for the following friday. The following friday came and again they didnt show up... my wife called this time and they told them that they had another problem and that two of them arrived broken but that they would go and install the others, my wife told them not to go until they have all of them. So they rescheduled again for the thursday of the following week. The next day (saturday) we had the insulation project. They supposed to come to our house at 9am. The representative called me at saying that he was going to be 50 mins late, then he called again saying that it was going to take him an extra 15 min. When they finally arrived there were two guys one called Dennis and "z" (i dont remember his name) . They soon started working on the insulation but the job was to big for them. For some reason they sent Dennis with a totally new guy to do a 2 person job. They actually told us that it was "z" first day and that he was learning. Soon they started fighting between them and swearing totally unappropriate. One of them quit right there and slamed my stormdoor and broke one of the bump closer which i didnt noticed at the momment. The other "experienced" guy tried to tell me that the job was done and he was trying to get me to sign the paperwork. I soon told him to call his supervisor and told him to get out of my house i had enough with those two. The manager told me that we would send a supervisor the next day. The next day the supervisor checked and realized that they had made a terrible job. He finished the job in a couple of hours and they gave us 250 dolar gift card for all the inconvenience and to fix the storm door. At the end after all the nightmare the job in the attic was completed. Now going back to the shutters remember? The next thursday came and again they didnt show up. Again i called and they apologized and rescheduled for tuesday. Tuesday came and again they didnt show up, they ended comming today wednesday since we were at work they told us they could install the shutters without us being there. When we arrived home after work the first thing we noticed they changed the shutter but guess what, they installed black shutters instead of the white ones my wife requested and that they agreed. They also left a mess with trash in my yard. :/ I Just called the customer service and they are clueless.. and they said they wont change them. Im totally pissed with this company i would not recommend it. Please stay away from them!!!! Sorry if it was too long. read more

One of the issues you'll notice with pretty much every other review on Yelp for PHRG is that they are very tough on the promotional offers. They WILL try and get you a sale that day, which can seem off-putting, but they are there as much to teach you as they are to get a sale. However, having just had my house done, I can assure that it's all worth it. First and foremost, you're going to learn a LOT more from these guys than you expected. People are saying, "Oh, they went on and on about X," and that is true, but they generally are going on and on because they know what they are talking about. Most of the information that the PHRG guy gave me I corroborated either with a simple internet search during the presentation or just from knowledge I already had. Yes, they will take a long time to explain every little thing that their company does. That information, though, is something that everyone should be paying attention to. I learned a lot more about our windows that I wasn't particularly concerned about, but realized was actually rather important later on. We had chunks of wood from the frame on one of our windows falling off, which didn't seem concerning initially (we have rot in the basement that is far worse), but the sales guy had a decent explanation as to the dangers that could cause for our house in the future. The sales people are very knowledgeable about the engineering that goes into their tech, too. As an engineer myself, I was rather bored by the opening of the sales pitch, but they give you plenty of example materials that will demonstrate the effectiveness of their products. The BTU test which they performed on the glass panes was particularly informative, and, while one reviewer stated that he "performed the BTU test on his door and his door showed better results", I'd wager that he didn't set up the test properly. The BTU test has a LOT of variables which are mostly minimized by having all of the "sample" panes of glass in one location. Using it on a door that's actively exposed to the elements, especially if it was a cold day, will definitely have an effect on the result. Once you get past the pushiness (yes, they will give a one-time only offer for a first visit, it's usually pretty good, but I'd definitely make these guys the last appointment if you are planning on getting multiple estimates), their quality speaks for itself. They use safety glass (the kind you see in cars which are made for impacts), along with a sealed window environment, which is very durable and less likely to cause leaks inside the house. Additionally, they have unlimited lifetime warranties on all of their window/sliding glass door products, including if the window is unintentionally damaged due to stupidity (kid throwing a baseball through a window was used as an example). That kind of engineering and reliability is rare, nor would you be able to find many companies who'd be willing to give you that kind of blanket coverage on their products. I can also attest to the durability of the windows, as one of the frames got smashed on one of the windows during the installation (my old window crumbled and caused damage to their frame). The window fell out two stories, onto ice, and didn't even have a scratch. That's an impressive window. The one drawback I'd say they have was that they tracked dirt all through the house. No, they aren't maids, and yes, they got the job done without leaving crap everywhere (Well, I got two free clear silicone caulk sticks that they left behind, but they were really good at clearing up the mess), but it was rather annoying to clean the whole house to take care of the dirt. Seriously, though, that's my worst complaint, which is saying something as to their effectiveness. The biggest thing people have complained about is PHRG's sales team. Yes, they are pushy, but at the end of the day, you learn a lot about the products, your current setup, and a decent amount regarding house upkeep and weather-proofing in general. I highly recommend that people listen to what they have to say, because I can guarantee that they know more about large-scale home improvements than the average consumer does. Additionally, when we had the contractors who were installing the windows look at the rot in our basement, he was able to give us good information on how extensive the rot is, and where we needed to have additional work done. They can't do concrete work, but they were able to refer us to some foundation repair people that can help us out further. Overall, I'd say I both learned a lot, and got a great deal. No complaints here. read more

There isn't enough time in the day to write about how bad this company is, so I'll keep it brief and let the pictures speak for themselves. - Zero respect for your time from all staff: multiple last minute reschedules, consistently late for appointments and workdays... on one occasion the crew was more than 5 hours late! - Staff are rude and ineffective over the phone including customer service staff and project staff. - Bait and Switch tactics: senior rep offered a $600 discount for booking multiple projects, but he had measured the height of the house incorrectly and "forgotten" a whole part of soffit fascia, so there was actually an increase of almost $1000 in pricing when it came to paying. - Did not follow lead based paint protocols: left lead paint chips and dust all over the work area and used a leaf-blower to "clean" them up resulting in paint chips and dust all over my property. After consulting with the EPA, I had to replace all the turf in the front yard to make it a safe place for my kids to play. - Did not clean up sharps: in all there were more than 300 nails, screws, other fasteners and pieces of sharp debris left all over my property. - No respect for your property: crew damaged five window screens, broke an exterior light from its mount and hid it behind a shed, damaged a gutter with gutter guard and left it filled with debris. They did not admit or inform me of any of these. - Poor work standards: multiple issues with all aspects of the work. window leaks, vent covers attached wrong, siding literally falling off the house. - Zero accountability: they sub-contract the crews... they will tell you they don't, but they do. This was confirmed by the crew foreman himself. This leads to a blame game. Crew says you have to contact the project manager to resolve any issues. Project manager just blames the crew. - Terrible customer care and will not honor warranty claim: contacted the company to make a warranty claim on a leaking window weeks ago and still waiting for a resolution. Contacted them again when siding fell off and was told the earliest they can have someone assess the damage (not repair) was three months away. - Zero integrity: as a veteran, my integrity meter runs true and this company fails massively. Even the follow up message when you leave a bad review is meaningless. Have provided them with all the relevant information for them to follow up, but never heard anything again. The only "lifetime guarantee" Power Home Remodeling can offer is a lifetime of problems.... guaranteed! read more

I would highly recommend avoiding this company. They came for a "free quote" which was a 5 hour presentation getting in the way of our child being put to bed and us eating dinner. The salesman was nice and charming, but not sleazy, seemed genuine but very motivated to make the sale. I feel embarrassed now but we were drinking his kool-aid. By the time he got around to telling us the price he told us an astronomical number for what it COULD cost somewhere else and then a lower number for what they would do. At this point it is 11pm and my wife and I just want to say yes so this whole thing can be over. We sign all of the paperwork and I have an anxious night's sleep. The next morning I am reading reviews online and getting really uncomfortable. I start looking at other quotes which are half of what we got quoted. They weren't even going to replace our whole roof! He convinced us not to get the skylights replaced even though they are 30 years old, cracked and over-caulked so he could make the price seem better and just make the sale. They try to set you up with a financing company which is a pretty nasty predatory loan. Their warranties are questionable. On their website they only show manufacturers warranties and not an actual labor warranty from the company. Of course you have to go find the warranties yourself, they are not presented to you during the sales meeting. Thank god there is a clause in the contract to cancel within three days, but of course the only way to do it is to get them the form by mail (which won't arrive within the three days), have someone come out to pick up the form (so they can try and sleaze you some more) or send a TELEGRAM! Yes, telegrams are still a thing and they are not cheap. This "free quote" turned into shame at being charmed by the "time share" of the home remodeling world, frantically doing research and realizing to steer clear of this company and a $210 telegram with enough words to cancel this contract. Their prices are way too high and their sales tactics are predatory, avoid them! read more

During the 5 hour appointment with the sales rep my husband and I decided to move forward with the gutter insulation install.  I was informed that the dumpster and supplies would arrive on Thursday Dec 10th that never showed up. Matter of fact the Project manager that came out to check the measurements said that they don't deliver a dumpster for this type of job. The follow-up appointment with the pre-inspection Project Manager was to ensure we understood the details of the project and reiterated the work that would be completed. During this time, he informed us our house was measured incorrectly; the difference in price was well over a grand, which was concerning, seeing I already signed the contract and was scheduled to have the gutters installed the next day. When I stated we had an agreed amount on the contract already signed he informed me that I would need to pay for the additional costs because they forgot to add additional wood. I declined stating we already had a signed contract. The project manager went to his truck to make a phone call. Now mind you The original date was Dec 3 I had 2 days to cancel or change my mind without any penalties. I didn't cancel.The day they came back was Dec 10th 7 days later, The same day the dumpster and supplies were supposed to deliver also the day before the project was to start. . When he came back to the house he informed me unless I pay the additional charges they would cancel the contract that we agreed on. I will never recommend this company, they are unprofessional and do not stand by their agreements or contracts. read more

I cannot say enough good things about this company: Whenever I hire a contractor for any job, I like to do my own research first to authenticate the statements and work being delivered. I had already been pricing a window job when Power came knocking on my door. The quote they provided was right in line with what I had established to be a fair number, and for better windows (Pella) than I thought we were able to access within our budget. They have an in-house install team, which is HUGE. I spent 15k on a previous bathroom job that brought outside contractors who did so many things wrong I had to essentially demand they come back, finish the job and install a new wall (that they broke). Outside contractors simply aren't incentivized to care like a team that's attached to the company that sold you the product. The sales process was fun and light, the installers were amazingly fast, clean and professional. Then we had a manager over the home a couple days later to review the work and get proper feedback. He illuminated some issues for us that should be addressed in the future, explained why they are important, and left us quotes in case we decide to take care of it sooner. I didn't feel pressured, and on the contrary I feel educated and empowered to make a proper decision when I'm ready. I've hired dozens of contractors in my life, and the job Power did sits clearly at the top. I will use them for ANY job I need that they provide. I wish I could retroactively go back and give every previous review in my life 4 stars, so this one could have more impact. read more

Power Home Remodeling Group did the roof of our house. I was very impressed by the results and the integrity of the business conduct, so I also had them do the gutters, soffit and a sliding door. The initial consultation (by Greg) was very thorough. The presentation was well designed and detailed PHRG's roofing process and the company's credentials answering most of our questions before they could be asked. My husband and I both liked the quality of their roofing materials and design, the workflow schedule of the project, and the reasonable price with 50-year transferable warranty, so we signed the roofing contract. The roof work was remarkable. The work was completed in a single day and the project was carried out seamlessly. I was very impressed by their proficiency. The workers were hardworking and also took good care of my house. By 3:30 in the afternoon, my house had a new roof and all debris from the old one was cleaned out. The soffit, gutters, and sliding door work was also performed very well. The worker carefully examined the area and replaced any decaying wood before putting in soffits and the sliding door. The project manager and the inspectors were professional and courteous. They informed me of all the details involved before the projects started. In dealing with some unexpected cases, they went the extra mile to make my house look nice. read more

I met these folks at my local BJ's store and had a great discussion about some home remodeling projects. They sent out a representative named Dan who took a lot of time to explain the different roofing options to us. I learned a lot! It's not just tar paper and tiles anymore like the old days. There are ventilation concerns that affect the lifetime of the roof and the integrity of the wood in the attic. As it turned out, Dan told us our current roof still had some life in it, but recommended we get gutters installed because of the erosion around our foundation. In the end, we went with the gutter purchase. About 2 weeks later, a team of workers showed up (on time) and installed new gutters all around our home in about 2.5 hours. I was VERY impressed with the quality of the product. These are extra wide, heavy-duty aluminum gutters (Not the cheap stuff you find in home improvement stores.) The extra width prevents clogs from leaves and pine needles. And, it makes our home look much better. We are VERY pleased with every aspect of this purchase, from the initial contact in BJ's, to the customer rep, the financing options, the installation, and the follow-up inspection. When it's time for us to replace our roof, I will definitely consider Power, and highly recommend you do the same. read more

I just had 10 windows replaced in my home and I am thrilled with the whole experience in dealing with Power Home Remodeling. I had a million questions for the salesman when he first came here. I had put windows in a while back, tried to cut corners and paid the price since. The meeting was so informative and it addressed every question and concern I had. It was a great learning experience. Any other time that I thought of something and called, a rep got back to almost immediately. The follow up from this company is amazing. Right down to the day of the install. Constant communication from them. The gentlemen that arrived to do the install were incredible. They just worked non stop from the moment they got here until the time they left. They were so professional and such hard workers. They were also very pleasant and patient with me as I still somehow found more questions to ask. The work they do is impeccable. I sat here last night and never thought that I would find beauty in windows but they are! Such quality products, professional and skilled installation and great customer service. I just finished ordering 2 new doors from them. If I could give them 10 stars I would. Looking forward to my new doors and highly recommend this company. read more

This update is several years in the making. After a very positive experience with the windows (2 installation sets totaling 26 windows), I ended up having PHRG replace my roof in 2015. Then, in 2016, I needed a new front door after converting a 3-season porch with a basic glass storm door into a fully-insulated part of the house, and the only quote I got was from PHRG. Customer Service: 1. I had one window where the sash would catch. They sent someone out the next day when I called, and it was replaced within two weeks with a brand-new, again custom, sash. 2. They accidentally broke my basement door during the roof replacement (hazard of throwing things off a roof - a board ricocheted off the dumpster towards the house), and sent someone to fix it the next day. All of the work is beautiful, employees at all levels were friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. PHRG isn't the cheapest contracting option (the only reason this is a 4 not a 5), but the services, professionalism, and warranties are amazing. I definitely recommend them. read more

I was introduced to this company by a door to door salesman and decided to give them a shot because I had been considering getting a new front window. As many of the reviews will complain about, the initial consultation was a bit on the long side, but that's just because they are thurough. It helped that they were quite friendly and easy to talk to, so I didn't feel as though I wanted to pull my hair out and kick the guy out of my house. As far as the the actual install and product go, very, very please. The workers were on time and, surprise, very friendly! They were efficient, adaptable and really didn't waste time. I have 4 dogs in the house and the workers were very good about making sure that they didn't get out while going in and out of the house. Clean up was great and the finish work was fantastic. They found a partial problem with the frame work around my original window, but it didn't throw them off. They quickly had a game plan and executed it. All said and done, I am pleased that I decided to go with this company. read more

Had new windows installed on Thursday April 25th. After ripping out the old windows an installing 1 window they told me there were NO screens. I told them that's an issue. Nobody spoke hardly any English but finally they told me it would be that day or the next. They finished the job and wanted to get paid. I said what about the screens? They said the guy that did the final inspection (from Power) would bring them on Sunday. Well like a fool I believed them and went ahead and paid for an INCOMPLETE job. Sunday the inspector showed up and knew nothing about the screens. Just got a phone call from them and they said the earliest they can bring screens is a week from Tuesday. Unacceptable!!!! I paid for a complete job I expect a complete job.. DON'T PAY THEM UNTIL THE JOB IS DONE. Very unprofessional. To add insult to injury they broke the fountain in the front yard and didn't say a word. When they were notified of this they didn't offer any compensation! read more

In the midst of meeting several different contractors for our siding project we ran into a Power representative at BJ's. Scheduled our first consultation with Josh, and the rest was history! We are amazed with their timeliness, communication process, their team's workmanship, and are impressed with the quality of their products. Not to mention their impeccable warranty that no one else could beat. This company definitely fulfilled everything that they said they were going to do. All aspects of the project started and finished just as planned. Adams our project manager, and both foremen (Milton and Paul) were an absolute pleasure to work with. They addressed all our concerns throughout the process. We finished a complete walk through with John and are so grateful that we discovered such an outstanding company. What a blessing. We're already looking forward to our next project. Would definitely recommend this company to anyone. read more

This "type" is no different from the "Solar Elec." folks stalking us by phone...And the blonde tweeker tweeking while 'doing "Porch Reconnaissance", I had an off day as I let it walk away where upon he "Vanished" no car seen, no other Canvassers (Im the entry point of One Way Street ) So they are amuck...Will post more when I know more read more

We had our house re-sided and gutters installed by Power Home Remodeling. We learned of Power from some reps in BJ's Wholesale Club and scheduled to have someone come and provide a quote. The reps who arrived spent the time to understand our needs and provide an accurate quote. We were impressed with the quality of the products presented and the timeline to complete the project. Prior to the install date, an inspector arrived to double check everything. He provided a list of things we needed to be ready for (take items off the walls, move outside furniture and trim shrubs away from the home). Upon arrival the siding team went right to work. They completed our 6000 sq ft siding job in 6 days. The siding team worked 10+ hour days and never left before everything was cleaned up. The gutter team followed and completed the job on the same day. Our house looks like a brand new home in just 7 days! read more

We had Power Home Remodeling come out to give us a free quote for work on our roof to replace the roof, add in a ventilation system and redo the gutter on the house. The quote was good for a year but the price was so good that we went with them on the spot. Through out the whole process they have been nothing but professional and we're always in contact and available. We've had no headaches at all during the process and are so satisfied with their service. Our new roof and gutters are warrantied for 50 years now and we just bought the house so we are set. It feels weird to say but we are so excited for our new roof and gutters. Love this company and would definitely recommend them to anyone else looking for roofing work. My experience with power hrg was great from the guy knocking on my door to the gentleman that came to do the estimate. He was very thorough and explained the process of changing the soffit and fascia boards on my home and how it protects the home. The workmen were neat and cleaned up my yard after the work was done. having the power app was a great tool to keep abreast of the timeline of where they were in the process of the job. The inspector that came to oversee the job was also very pleasant and gave good feedback on what we can think of in the future. None of the guys were pushy or tried to force my husband and I to go with their company, they just really explained what they saw was wrong and what we needed and left us decide on our own. I had power come to give an estimate for new windows. The sales pitch is long, but Ethan was very courteous and professional and wasn't pushy. I signed up to get the windows. The company always called right away to schedule appointments and the people always came on time. The pre install inspection people were nice and measured very accurately. They all offer to take their shoes off when they arrive even. The installation went smoothly with Ron and Jason. They put plastic down in front of each window and cleaned up when they were done. So far, I have noticed a difference in warmth in the house. I have been hot at night and have had to turn down the heat. The weather is not super cold anymore, but I think they will be great in the Winter. read more
