This place has some good food. I was surprised at how flavorful the meat lover bowl, and Philly steak pita wrap were.

I ordered 3 piece whole wings, with 2 sides. Baked beans and southern greens. I ordered the peach cobbler à la mode and was happy the cashier recommended I pay first and they would bring it out when I was ready to eat it. - she did just that, without my prompting. I ordered the spice level HOT and it was good and spicy. If you don't like spice, get the medium spice level. The sweet tea and the in house made lemonade tasted awesome. I refilled 3 times... but also because they had the best ice My friend had the tenders and said they were very good as well along with the banana pudding! The resturant was clean and accommodates large groups as well. I did not like the baked beans but my friend did so they did not go to waste.

That…read morediscomfort can come in a variety of shapes and if it occurs in Nashville, it's likely to be in the form of ordering hot chicken at an overwhelmingly crazy spice level without fully comprehending what just happened. And what better place to experience such a moment than Hattie B's, a local family fun institution. Started in 2012 by a father and son duo, this is the original location of the establishment despite many other outposts now present through the southern US. Now, back to the spice level. Beyond the standard selections, there are extreme variants like Damn Hot! and Shut the Cluck Up! That's where things get really interesting, because survival instincts always get tested when things are not standard. Those levels are not for the faint of heart. The hot chicken here is legitimately phenomenal regardless of level chosen and the tenders are the most famous cut. The pimento Mac and cheese and the bacon grits are not to be missed as sides. Maybe, just maybe, what separates Hattie B's is the mom and pop feeling of the establishment despite becoming ridiculously popular with tourists. The people taking orders are so nice and enjoy a conversation despite the massive line. All around, Hattie B's hits the spot.

Several have said the service was slow. I would agree. We asked to move tables from where they originally seated us, and evidently our server didn't realize we were in his section, so I'll blame us for that. The biscuits they start you with are good. Heavy, a bit greasy, and some herbs and such so they are not sweet... but almost. For dinner our group selected Fried Chicken and Meatloaf, then mashed potatoes, brocolli casserole, cole slaw, and green beans - pretty classic. The fried chicken was good, the second round of chicken they brought our was hotter and fresher I'm told (I was full), and that batch was even better. The meatloaf couldn't been better, honestly tasted like it could have been Stouffers frozen. The sides were all good, of the four we choose, I would replace the brocolli casserole next time, but honestly pretty good. Most reviews I read talked about dessert being included... it's not anymore. $1.99 if you wanted. Our table ordered a banana pudding, thumbs down. More like a banana cake with virtually no pudding. The ooey gooey cake was very good, and very sweet. That small $1.99 slice was honestly perfect for the four of us to share. Beautiful huge dining room, great gift shop that I wish we had more time to explore. Would I go again? Sure, but not any time soon. A heavy meal like that needs to be only an every once in a while endeavor for the sake of your digestive system, but honestly, not bad overall. The tourist trap sometimes works out OK.

Through the years that I've been enjoying these fresh, crispy, and spicy chicken during my nashville visits, I know that I can always count on high quality food and great service consistently - regardless of whatever location you are visiting or how busy or what time of day it is. I'd say this certainly rings true if you're passing through Terminal C at the Nashville airport and want to get a hot chicken fix and are unable to venture into the city. As with every Hattie B's location you can expect a line and a crowd but it moves quickly (and there's plenty of seating which is a plus). On this recent visit I went with my usual of a 3 tenders combo....being an airport location it is a bit pricier than the city locations (and your combo only comes with one side not TWO but what can you expect from an airport spot). The food comes out fast and smoking hot and is every bit as delicious as the standard set by any other Hattie B's location you'll find in the city. If you're on the fly and need a quick meal in the Nashville airport don't miss out on this local favorite!

If you get their medium wings with fries and peach cobbler, you will have one of the best layover at BNA airport! They have plenty of seats inside so no worries there. I presume it was clean, but cannot be certain 'cause it was too dark & dreary. (I usually avoid chains.) The host was all 'cheery' and such, but I would have none of it. When you ask, 'how are we?' My response will always be, either to turn around to look and RE-state that it's "dinner for one," or ignore him/them, or possible some other even more rude response (to such an ignor*** comment/question: I don't have a mouse in my pocket--do you, I am not an alien with a foreign entity living in my body, 'do I look pregnant?') Another server showed up and everything, service-wise, took a step forward. I am always clear and very particular on my food. I don't eat pork (clean food and religious reasons--both one and the same) and I don't eat Nightshades (food allergies). I clarified that the brisket was beef. I emphatically repeated that if it was NOT 'fatty' I did NOT want it. This wasn't casually declared . It was repeated, belabored and emphasized. I did NOT want it if it was NOT fatty. And we thoroughly examined the rest of the menu (side dishes) to ensure I could eat they (savory but NOT sweet and no pork). I settled on the Brussels sprouts and corn on the cob. The second server had promised to get my order out to me in five minutes. He pretty much executed--good on him. The brisket: over cooked and dry. I am disgusted that my highly specific request had been so blatantly ignored. The corn on the cob had been 'soaking' in something (water?) and it tasted like laundry water (no I've never drank dirty laundry water but we all know what it smells like and our taste buds respond to our olfactory senses. I haven't tried the Brussels sprouts I'm already so disgusted that I cannot handle more .
